Had a bit of a nasty experience, whereby my insurance didn't cover the cost of repairs to a spouted sink turned into a geyser - upstairs bathroom. A big mess; kitchen overhead fixture became a water fountain. When the Roto Rooter rep got here, they charged $250 for capping the pipe that day, which took about 15 minutes and probably wasn't necessary, since the water remained off until I could get a third party in to fix it; and got me to sign up for the full house water amelioration, mentioning $5,000-$8,000 price, GUARANTEEING that my insurance would cover it (Which they did not). S, they charged me 3X the max amount, even treated rooms which had 0 water exposure, added huge charges for things not performed; e.g., $80 to cover furniture with plastic, which remained folded upon a single cushion; claimed to sweep and clean appliances for hundreds that I did myself after they billed me. Sent a guy over to check humidity levels the day after fans installed, and almost every day for the rainy week the fans were in place. Tested asbestos (Which I told them was part of the structure - outdoor shingles), and charged hundreds of dollars for that (Tested a portion of drywall ceiling, and it came back negative. Didn't even know what he was doing). Tested the laminate vinyl flooring, pulling up only the most conspicuous possible spot - at the front door next to the stairs. Long story short, they charged me over $22,000 for less than 40 man-hours on-site, which they had guaranteed at the time of my agreeing that my insurance would cover, and when I heard back that the insurance company wouldn't cover any damages, the rep came back into my very torn up house on a Saturday for an hour to say, "If you would have just told them what I told you to say, they would have covered it." then we paid out of pocket that day. So I'm hoping they can read this and issue some partial refund, because there were some seriously wrongly communicated things in the pitch, and some improper billing.

I was getting a garbage disposal removed and a regular drain pipe installed. Wasn't given a quote like I was told I was going to get, but the job was done and my card charged for $953 dollars ($890 of that going towards LABOR) Had I been given a call and quoted before the job was started, I would've declined Roto Rooter's service, but wasn't given that chance, and got robbed instead!

Dispatch had someone at our house in under an hour on Saturday morning when no one else could. Broken water pipe had been spraying all night so we woke up to quite the mess. David from mitigation showed up, got us squared away with our insurance company and assessed the damage so their team could come start the cleanup. Chris showed up a few minutes later and had our issue fixed in short order. Can't thank the team enough for their fast response and fantastic customer service.

April 22, 2024 Roto-rooter gave me a estimate saying it could cost up to $1300 to fix a leaking shower faucet, depending on the problem, which was a failed gasket. He said he needed to replace the shower shut off which took 45 minutes and then billed me for the full $1300! It was $420 for parts and $879 for 45 minutes of labor! The plumber gave me a speech about how it improves my home value and inflation, and their website says they are BBB accredited even though they are not. I called to ask what their hourly labor rate was and was told "we bill by the job regardless of how much time it takes" but billing $879 for less than an hour of labor when typical rates are $200/hr is absolutely insane. I will never use Roto-Rooter again even if I can negotiate a fair rate and their business practice is predatory (and I am potentially pursuing legal action at this point).

We originally had plumber Steven from Roto-Rooter come out to install new guts and fix a leak from our main floor toilet in November 2023. Initially the service "seemed like" it was done well. Job was done, he gave us updated parts and we were insured that the toilet guts we provided worked fine on the toilet. Cut back to around a week ago, the same toilet had water pouring from the screws connecting to the tank. We called Roto-Rooter again to solve this issue and the new plumber apologized, but Steven had not properly installed the toilet in November. Couple quick fixes and we were assured the issue was finally solved. At this time there was damage done to the wood floor surrounding the toilet and water had leaked into our basement. A couple of days later the leak occurred again, this time from a different screw and caused significant more damage to the floors and now was leaking into the basement from two spots. We called to have someone just fix the toilet properly, and they sent back Steven. After being three hours late and being extremely rude; Steven blamed us for the parts we provided, saying they would have never worked with the toilet in the first place, he then asked us for another payment just to fix it properly this time. We refused, his mistake and negligence led to damage and we just wanted our toilet fixed right this time. So instead of properly fixing it, he spent ten minutes tightening and left. Even after I told him it's still leaking water, we were told it was normal. He wouldn't do anything about the damage to our floors, and didn't even take the time to look. We've been trying to get someone back out for a couple days now and have made multiple inquiries to reach out to their master plumber Chris........nothing. Our 4th ticket for the job no one has come out for, they've conveniently have had no more plumbers available for us since then, they actually took us off of their schedule without telling us, and we're still left with a unusable toilet.

I had a water heater replaced by Roto Rooter though the work done was good, they charge far too much for water heater replacement. They charged $1468 in labor for less than three hours of work (and that included going to ********** and buying a water heater) and $1200 in parts for a $439 water heater and some fittings. I consider this price gouging. They told me its a flat rate regardless of the time taken. That is lazy and unfair to replacements that are relatively simple.

They didn't finish the job they were paid for. Instead of fixing anything they created a bigger problem. When they were contacted to either finish the job or returned the money they decline both options

Excellent service and plumber! Service was done perfectly and he was informative and friendly. I'd definitely recommend him and Roto Rooter! My only reason for giving 4 stars not 5 is because of the cost. The prices are extremely high! But I know that it's being done properly when Roto Rooter does the job. Especially the plumber they sent! He definitely deserves 5 stars!!!
