1 starI can't begin to tell you how horrible Roto Rooter was. The project manager was excellent but his team was lazy and incompetent. We had sewage flooding into our basement bathroom. I was assured over the phone and in person that Roto Rooter could complete mitigation, regardless of the flooring. The first day, dehumidifiers were brought in but without drain hoses so the water was dripping onto flooring that hadn't been affected by the flooding. The plumber refused to snake the pipes because of the sewage and because the main line access was in a crawl space that was clean and dry! Just awkward. The crew refuses to remove any sewage because they want an asbestos test done on the flooring. It gets worse. On the second day, fans are set up to blow the contamination around my house. Sewage is still leaking in and spreading into rooms previously unaffected. The team manager is going back and forth with the company regarding getting the crew to remove the sewage, getting the plumber to remove any blockage, but everyone refused to do anything because asbestos is in the tile. We fired Roto Rooter, and they removed the equipment from my basement on day 3. 10 minutes later ******* comes in and within 5 hours, all sewage and most of damaged flooring is *********** some might state they are within their rights to refuse to provide services, but keep in mind the asbestos is sealed within the tile and is not contaminating anything. Also, the company was quite assured they could handle the situation but instead made everything worse. Who knows how much our health has been negatively impacted by that crew's incompetence. We had to breathe in contamination for 3 days because of Roto Rooter.I will update this review after I speak with my insurance provider to see how much Roto Rooter want to scam them out of. I am also reporting to BBB and ************************.Roto-Rooter

1 starMy experience with Roto-Rooter has been a complete nightmare. It started with a technician claiming my sewer line collapsed after camera check, pressuring me into a $13,500 full excavation with a five-day water outage scare. They never suggested a spot repair or tried snaking or hydro-jetting—steps their contract promises before a major dig. They only brought a camera, misdiagnosed the issue, and dug 25 feet past where the camera reached, leaving the clog untouched and the line intact per post-dig photos. A spot repair was never an option they pushed excavation from the start. Financial foul-up was worse. I was told the $1,062.92 for the initial camera work and snaking would be rolled into the $13,500 if I chose the full job, but they charged it separately on another card without my approval, and it’s not on my paperwork. The dig ruined my yard, costing $2,350 to repair, yet they hide behind a liability release I signed based on their wrong diagnosis. ****** ********, their manager, called today with a ‘final offer’: a $7,700 cut off the $13,500 for a spot repair (leaving $5,800), plus refunding the $1,062.92 they shouldn’t have charged—totaling $8,762.92 off, but still leaving me with $4,800 to pay. I rejected it unless the yard’s covered, and it got heated. He kept saying “I wasn’t there,” acting like the discount was a favor when a spot fix should’ve been the plan all along. For 2.5 weeks, *** ******* has ignored my direct emails and calls, and ****** won’t connect me to anyone higher, saying it all goes through her. Their botched job, unauthorized $1,062.92 charge on a separate card, trashed yard, and refusal to escalate show a company with no accountability. I’ve filed with the ** ******** ** ******** ******* ***** *************** and won’t back down. Avoid them unless you want overcharges, ruined property, and zero help. Desired Resolution: Full $1,062.92 refund, $2,350 for yard restoration, and a fair spot repair cost instead of the $13,500 hold.Review fromCameo H

1 starThe clean-up crew told us we needed a water softener to prevent future issues. We agreed out of fear of a future leak. When the technician came, he talked us into a saltless water softener (which I now know doesnt help the pipes like salt does). He needed my husbands help to install and placed it on a bucket we had from our garage. When I learned that the saltless tank didnt work after ANOTHER leak, I had another water softener installed. The new companys technicians were laughing at Roto Rooters rigged set-up of our saltless tank and showed me that the Roto Rooter technician never even turned the valve to allow water to run through the tank. It was a CLEAN filter, never used after a year of having it. We still owe over $2000 for the tank that the technician never turned on. I was just charged $1000 in interests charges for the purchase because we didnt pay it off within a years time. Im beyond disappointed in this company! When I called to talk to Roto Rooters about it they said they couldnt do anything about it of course. Paying $3500 for something rigged that was never turned on.Roto-Rooter

2 starsOur names are **** and ***** *********. The call for water damage to Roto Rooter was made at 8 am on July 6, 2025. The next steps were smooth: a manager named **** came out around 1 pm on July 6, 2025 and assessed the damage to our house and used his scanner to find where the water was present on our kitchen ceiling. Around 3 pm, the plumber ****** came out and found the faulty stop valve of our tub that was causing the leak into our ceiling and she replaced the valve. Then, around 7 pm, ***** and another worker came out to install the dehumidfying equipment, which was walled off with tarps, in our kitchen. He told us to expect 4-5 days for the process, but for our particular house, expected more like 3-4 days. Then, another gentleman named **** came out two times the following week, on Mon July 7 and Wed July 9, to detect water levels. At both visits, he quoted moisture at approximately 40%. We found it odd that he did not detect a larger decreased in moisture from July 7 to July 9. He also noted our tarps all fell down and that could be slowing the process. He said he was filing a notice to get them repaired. No one came out- instead, my husband used our own house materials to re-hang the tarps so that the area was walled off. Then, come July *****. A period of 72 hours has passed with no communication from the company. We have called multiple times, including reaching out to *****, ***** ****** **** and ********- they gave us vague responses with no clear direction of what the next steps were. We have a 1 year old baby and three dogs - we informed them multiple times that we felt forgotten and that we needed someone to come out and assess the water moisture. That has not happened. We have also informed them that this process has caused a ***** in our electricity bill, which is typically $300/month, to now be estimated to be $700 for the month. We are so disappointed with this company- they started strong by coming out quickly and quickly failed to deliver.Roto-Rooter

1 starEmergency water leak on Monday morning. Rotor Rooter came out 1 1/2hr after call made, it was the Restoration group NOT a plumber (plumber MIGHT come out that day or maybe next). Restoration team scared the life out of senior citizen with gadgets showing walls filled with water 3 ft high, talked of mold, hazmat suits, asbestos because under 1980 build. Plumber calls with quote of $5,700 -going by pictures Restoration group took we guess. Told we should replace all pipes for $12,000 because once one goes all the pipes will follow. All we wanted was to be able to turn water back on and Roto Rooter wanted our life savings by fear forcing us to make quick decisions.Roto-Rooter

3 starsRoto-Rooter 18-month Interest Free Promotion. Is this Bank fraud??????RR did a fine job with repair but provided me with incorrect information about the interest free offer. ** informed me of the promotional program and said I would receive a "payment card" in the mail from **************, which I could use to make the interest free payments for 18 months (cost of repair was $3,800). The card arrived today. The letter read, "Welcome! Your new credit card, issued by **************, is here." I called ************** and they verified that indeed the card was a credit card, not a payment card. Since I did not ask for a credit card, I deem this bank fraud. Be careful everyone!Roto-Rooter
