1 starDuring the Christmas season 2024, I was in Fred Meyers (15609 E Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA 99037) for the purpose of sending holiday money to friends and family in Africa through Money Services. I was asked the most intrusive questions about who I'm sending money to and why, how long I've known them, whats the purpose of the funds, whats the purpose of this money transfer, how do I know this person and on and on until I told the cashier "You don't need to ask these questions" its very clearly written on the scanner that I have to answer the few required questions. I told her that these questions are intrusive and that I am verified and have been sending money for years. It is very difficult to get money to family and friends in Africa. Banks are only in the city and everyone uses mobile wallets at the local stores. This is how the world sends money." She became angry and said "you're in here too much sending money to Africa and I don't trust you. I don't like it and I'm not doing it." After I left the line she begins to tell a customer that wanted to send money to Africa and she's not allowing me to sending money to that **** hole. I filed a complaint with corporate and never heard a thing. Today 1/17/2025 I went to Fred Meyers to pick up some money thru Money Services and I was told that I'm not allowed to use money services anymore. An employee doesn't like me sending money to Africa, despite my BEING VERIFIED AND HAVING NEVER HAD AN ISSUE BEFORE. I'm not allowed to use Money Services because a WHITE woman, she doesn't like the country in Africa where my Wife and her family are from. I've never been so ****** in my life! I'm disgusted with the bold faced racism that i keep experiencing at Fred Meyer. I am a white man and my wife is from Africa and that seems to be an issue with White employees at Fred Meyers in Spokane Valley Washington.Review fromfangfang c.

1 starI am using their auto check machine to purchase one green onion, the machine popup the window to ask me to enter the phone number, my phone number start at 480, I entered it and wiped my credit card. The bill show the transaction of 48 of green onion I purchased.I asked the clerk to void the transaction, he did, then I asked for the receipt ,he said he cannot give to me. I asked him for a few times and he refuse to give the evidence of void transaction. So , I tell him I want to talk to his manager. His manager, a lady, gave the receipt finally. I said this machine does not work properly, and She said it is not a machine issue, is what I did something wrong. I would like to talk to her but she refused. Then I ask her I would like to talk to her manager, she got mad at me and shout at me,"Get out my store"I said, Why? "Yes, I kick you out of store now", "If you not leaving, I am calling the police".I told her, "I did nothing wrong, and you should not treat me like this"."Yes, I can" she yelled at me.She called the police and filed a trespass warning on me and I could not go back to this sore for a year. This is not professional and is clearly to me not the right way to treat a loyal customer. I have been shopping at Fry's for more than 20 years.Review fromJ.R. C

1 starI used to really like shopping in the little Kroger near my house until the following incident which breached my consumer rights. They charged me the price for organic Ginger when I was buying regular ginger. But the self- checkout supervisor defended doing that as she had no other price for ginger in the menu of the self checkout. I argued with the staff member that it was wrong as you can so easily tell that it was regular ginger cos it was huge pieces. She would not even take money back off to discount the price. It is the principle that as a retailer they charged me a higher price for Organic when the product is not Organic. That is how they breached my consumer rights. Quite disgusting!! And you know what the next time I was in there I spoke to a Produce person and we went and looked at the ginger. We saw that the organic ginger was mixed with the regular and some bits of regular ginger had organic stickers on and some did not. Such fraud and duplicity!!! Why can’t they just put a code in the computer for regular ginger as the produce guy said they do occasionally get it in but mainly it’s organic ginger. The pricing in this store I have often found to be wrong at checkout. Lucky I have a good memory but interestingly 9 times out of 10 it seems to favor Kroger. Thank goodness we now have a Lidl really close by that I can run to and their pricing is more accurate.Review fromStacy K

1 starI would give 0 stars if I could. I've always been able to cancel items from my order the day before until about 6pm. Now it will not let me do it. It only lets me add. I contacted customer service and they said that there is a glitch in the app and they are trying to fix it. They said that there's nothing that they can do. So I have to pay for something that I'm trying to cancel and can't even if the app says that I can modify my order. I will not be using Kroger delivery anymore and will be telling all of my friends and family not to get Kroger.Review fromMichael H

1 starContinues to sale expired/past sell date food. Bought fruit cups a week ago and sell by date was in July. Thats 5 months they had to take off the shelves. Over the last few years I have bought food that was expired and moldy several times. I have a pregnant wife at home and this store puts the health of customers at risk.Review fromCrystal G

1 starRecently, I reached out to director regarding a racial profiling incident that my mother and I experienced while shopping at the ********* **** ***** store. Unfortunately, our concerns were dismissed due to the director not perceiving the issue as being a real issue. It is very disheartening the lack of cultural awareness or even cultural empathy exhibited by the ********* store director. It is common knowledge that individuals that are not directly impacted by someone else's prejudice are far less likely to realize when targeting treatment is occurring. The best correlation I can provide for this concept is size discrimination. Because I am a petite individual, I am less likely to notice a lack of clothing sizes for larger individuals. I am less likely to be mocked or stared at if I receive second and third portions at a buffet etc. The same goes for this situation. If you are not a person of color and you are not traveling with a person of color, you are less likely to notice the derogatory treatment of people of color. Granted, that is not always the case but we need to stop pretending that stereotyping, and microaggressions and outright bigotry just suddenly stopped within the last 5 years. Also, to add insult to injury, when I kindly inquired about **** ****** DEI practices, I received this response, As far as training that takes place, I am unable to discuss the specifics with you. This left me to ******, what policy prohibits management from sharing **** ****** DEI training? Based on the answer provided, it seems like **** ***** has forgone its DEI training like many other corporations.Review fromLyn B

1 starOnline grocery delivery never received-via Kroger delivery service
I'm an independent senior citizen and don't drive, living in the NE area of town. Today I contacted Kroger Customer Service after not receiving my delivery order on time and each agent I spoke to wasn't able to offer any resolve for my missing order via Kroger delivery truck, after many calls to the customer service 2hrs post delivery time, and I still hadn't received my food order, I was told my order was cancelled by the Kroger delivery team because driver couldn't deliver the groceries to the leasing office, the delivery instructions printed on my account never requested delivery to the leasing office but instead had precise instructions to call when at gate for gate code and instructions to apt. I've used Kroger delivery multiple times and even considering Boost benefits. But no longer will I be a loyal Kroger Customer!!! and I will file my complaint of this matter on platforms to share my experience with others in case this is something that frequently happens and I didn't know about. How disappointed I was having been left stranded without food from this delivery and the hold up on my delivery fee for 5 days before the bank will release funds. This should not have happened I've had many previous deliveries to the same address without difficulty or complications.
Sincerely

1 starI ordered an order yesterday to be picked up today, 12/9/24. It is highly frustrating that this is the ninth time since August this year that my order was running late. It was running so late that they said they wouldn't be able to have it ready until tomorrow. I ordered it a day in advanced! Ridiculous. I then had to wait 12 minutes on the phone to cancel the whole order.Review fromBrittany S

1 starI was accused of stealing from Kroger on May 15th 2024 One night after purchasing a few items from Kroger, I noticed some of the employees watching me and the security guard walking backwards towards the lobby doors just staring at me .. he stopped me just after the metal detector part (which didn't go off) and blockaded in the lobby. I tried walking past him, but he grabbed my bag and wouldn't let me leave demanding I open my purse . I tried to keep walking while at the same time being like for What!?.... He said he saw me take something and I asked him what did I take? He just told me to open my bag while still holding onto it firmly, so I wouldn't get away?.... I start telling him I didnt steal anything. He watched me at the self checkout - checking out and paying! He was prob about 300lbs and would not let me through to the exit. I had my phone in my hand and quickly turned on video recording. He dug through my bag, not finding anything and there were sooo many people watching it was annoying and I felt extremely violated. I had to tell him to stop digging and jerked my bag away from him leaving the store humiliated and ****** off.Review fromLynette H

1 starOn 12/5/2024, I went to a QFC Kroger store on 8th Avenue in Bellevue, WA. I needed to buy money orders to pay my rent. They required my personal details address, phone number and social security number. I provided that and they charged my debit card $6K for my money orders. While trying to initiate my purchase of ******* ***** Money Orders they told me the system did not recognize my social security numbers. This is odd, why would my social security number be registered with Western Union? It makes no sense. They then provided me with a receipt reflecting they were crediting me back the $6K that they had just charged me. However, it is now 12/7/2024 and I have not been credited back for the charge. Initially, on 12/6/24 my bank told me they could see the credit but that the merchant had not released it and there was nothing they could do. I called the store store location and they referred me to my bank. I called the Kroger Customer Service Line, same response. I went to the Kroger website and Live chatted with someone. They provided a number to a department overseas (overseas?) and they told me to call my bank. The Rep told me they refunded me and my bank needs to release the credit. When I then call my bank they tell me they no longer see a credit on my account and the merchant must have taken the credit back. 72 hours later I have not received my $6K back. Now I am being charged late fees and a 3-day Pay or Vacate. This is unacceptable and deceptive actions by QFC/ Kroger Stores. After much effort trying to get a hold of the merchant in multiple ways I will now dispute the transaction with my bank, file reports with **** Attorney General, Better Business Bureau and will be contacting an attorney. DO NOT BUY MONEY ORDERS AT QFC WITH A DEBIT OR CREDIT CARD unless you want to go down the rabbit hole of trying to get your money back. No goods were ever exchanged for my payment and this cannot be legal.
