  It’s the worst company I ever dealt with. Came in and promised to lower our cost of payroll, sales person never mentioned the rates were only for three months promo. Fourth and fifth month, our charges were 4 times more than what they quoted. From that point on, all went to hell. By the time, I switched back to our old company, we were over charged almost $2 on two months. And, they would not stop drafting our accounts either. DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF THE SALES PEOPLE APPROACH YOU. Bell Greek Richmond, VA locations.

  Horrible. I opened an IRA to roll my 401k from paychex to my new Ira. They sent me the check and not ro the Ira I opened. I'm sure this nightmare isn't over. Paychex wouldn't accept the request from my Ira.... they insisted on sending me the check to forward to the new company

  As a small nonprofit business (less than 5) this company was recommended by CPA. Started with with 5/31/23 PR, the 1st 5 bi-weekly pays went well THEN. 6th- Pd 1 hrly, not the 3 salary. 7th- checks lost had to pay inhouse-lady was unsure how to handle reissuing. 8th- checks lost reissued but processed 46hrs not 60hrs. They drew down money to pay the 60 hr check, then drew down a 2nd time at46 hrs. It took from 9/6 to 9/28 to get a partial refund and as of today 10/11, we are still due taxes and fees. This also has the YTD earning, withholds and company liability payments to Dept of Revenue and IRS wrong. There are extra invoices charged to our account for 7.52, 109.45 but Paychex has no details why drafted - been asking since 9/11 and as of 10/11 no backup paperwork or invoice available.) 9th - All paid but it took 3 days of calls to have them release what on auto pay since 5/31. 10th - still requesting the refund of the lost check on 9/6 (taxes) and the cash requirements report sent to us prior to ACH draft had 1 amt and another amount was actually drafted. No explanation given when asked other than if companies handled their payroll in house would not have issues. Called daily since these issues started 8/23/23 to clear up and then what was added with the most current pay period since every pay period there are new issues to be corrected. I have a rep, a supervisor, a new supervisor, a specialist manger and a services specialist that we have emailed, and called so many times we have an expandable folder full of notes and paperwork. Our company works with the Dept of *****-funds they are mishandling are federal funds we report on every 90 days. Funds are mishandled in one quarter that roll into the next quarter. Emails are never replied to and when we-get voicemails. IF we will get person we are told they are unsure what is going on There is NEVER follow up. BEWARE TO ANY COMPANY THINKING ABOUT THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE UNPROFESSIONAL. -0 STARTS not option

  This company is terrible! Our agency payroll has issues every pay period. I have been given 3 payroll specialists in less than 6 months. We pay for the top package with Paychex however can't access any of the services we pay for. Supervisors call with apologies, however, the issues continue. This company is fraudulent!

  The ABSOLUTE WORST payroll company around. The majority of the reps are incompetent and unprofessional. Our latest issue...the straw the broke the camel back was our rep shared salary information for the entire company (including the owners) with an unauthorized employee. You would think someone would have an understanding or training of that being confidential information unless that individual is authorized on the account. I emailed supervisors and higher ups about the issue and no one got back to me STILL. I reached out to a higher up that I had worked with in the past and she reached out to higher ups and I still did not receive a phone call back STILL. We are moving our services to ADP....
  If there was a star that is less than 1-star...I would have selected that!

  Unreliable, undependable for what they bill themselves as doing--payroll; they miss small things resulting in large penalties from the State for not filing routine the paperwork they are paid to do or deducting taxes they should. The are subdivided into branches covering different aspects, no one communicates. As someone mentioned below, a ZERO would be an appropriate rating. All I had to cover were 2 people and they screwed that up. A disgrace

  As a small business this corporation cost me much more than the services rendered. My 401k program through Paychex literally drained my account making paying bills impossible. Over 6 months I put away almost $1000 then decided that I wasn’t making enough money to proceed with the retirement plan. I was then told that they use the industry standard that is $1500 to close out the account plus a monthly upkeep charge. I was led to believe these services were helpful and now face bankruptcy. Just because something is the industry standard it doesn’t make it ok. As a small business I made a huge mistake signing on with paychex.

  I work in HR- In my unfortunate encounter with Paychex Payroll, I experienced an appalling level of incompetence and disregard for the financial well-being of my company. The magnitude of their mishandling of my company's payroll is simply unforgivable. It all began with their failure to accurately input the correct direct deposit dates for my employees' paychecks, leading to a chaotic chain of events.
  When we reached out to Paychex to address this issue, we explicitly informed them that we would issue hard checks instead. They assured us that they would refrain from withdrawing funds from the account that month. However, to our dismay, they went against their word and proceeded to deduct the funds, leaving us no choice but to tirelessly reach out to each of our employees and request the return of the double payments they received.
  To make matters worse, Paychex Payroll exhibited a complete lack of interest and empathy when we sought a resolution. Their apathetic response only served to deepen my mistrust towards their services. I shudder to think about the countless other small to mid-sized businesses that have fallen victim to this company's gross negligence, resulting in significant financial losses.
  I implore anyone considering Paychex Payroll to exercise extreme caution. Their track record of ineptitude and disregard for their clients' concerns is a red flag that cannot be ignored. Trusting them with your company's payroll could potentially expose you to grave financial risks. Choose a reliable and responsible payroll provider that values your business and understands the importance of accurate and secure financial transactions.
