  If I could give a negative review of Paychex I would. They have been deducting pension payments from our employees' paycheck every week, but did not pay the government the correct amounts. They are now deducting large amounts from our bank account to fix this, with no explanation as to where is amount is coming from and no breakdown or details of the amount.
  They take 3-4 weeks to come up with a response to any question you have even though they say they will get back to you in 10 business days. Their responses are horrible with no detailed explanation.
  They will be getting a letter from our attorney. You better believe we will charging Paychex for fees and charges for not filing taxes correctly on top of our attorney costs.

  STAY AWAY! Too many mistakes over and over again, and we are only a four-person team! We have two people with the same first name, and Paychex continuously pays the wrong person. When you give them instructions at the end of the year, say for bonuses... EVERY year, there is a mistake. It BLOWS my mind that they can be so sloppy with someone else's paycheck.

  Worse company, fradulant charges, terrible customer service managers, unresolved disputes, holding taxes, unapproved 401k for per diem employees, no contact with so call account manager, never answered phone, constant change in account managers, closed account and company is still trying to debit fees out of my checking account. Won’t release account information. Totally unacceptable service and fees. Long hr wait to speak with representatives, always transfers to other departments and manages who are never in. Impossible to resolve issues.

  I will add to all the negative reviews on Paychex. We had 6 account managers in one year and in 2016. They collected my third quarter Federal taxes from our bank account, but never sent them on to the IRS or filed the appropriate paperwork. We had no idea that occurred as that was what they were paid to do, based on our agreement. In 2022 we get a demand letter from the IRS stating we owed $55,000 for the 3rd quarter of 2016, plus interest and penalties. They acknowledged they didn't file the proper paperwork, but said there were weasel words in the contract that if we didn't report an issue within 2 years, they had no liability. Again, we found out 5 years after that they hadn't paid our taxes to the IRS, and the IRS confirmed. So, where did the money go, if it didn't go to the IRS?? And to make matters worse, we qualified for Employee Retention funds which we sorely n need, but because the IRS thinks we owe them $55k, they simply deducted the funds, and we didn't get a dime. The company that filed the paperwork for that is now suing us and the final straw is that they threatened to sue me if I shared the facts with anyone!! Does anyone know where else we can go to share what happened and hold them accountable for all the damage they've done?? Want to reach as many people as possible with this message, and hopefully save other small businesses from going through what we are

  I would leave zero stars if that was possible. My payroll was supposed to be processed a week ago but was not and I was not notified there was an issue. I called the following day and was told it could be because of a new hire but they weren't sure why. I had to write a manual check for my new employee and agreed to direct deposit for the other two employees (me being one of them). The money was withdrawn from my account but never deposited into the employees' accounts. I called yesterday and was told it's my responsibility to find out where the money went because Paychex sent it. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was disconnected. I was disconnected at least EIGHT times yesterday. Someone finally called me back and said they would put a trace on the money and I should hear back in 30-40 minutes. At the end of the day, I still hadn't heard anything from anyone. I attempted to call again today and am still waiting for a response.
  As far as I'm concerned, Paychex has stolen my money and has no intention of returning it.

  Horrible service - they missed my payroll deadline few times and messed up my employee pays last time! When I wanted to cancel, I wasnt able to get a full refund for more than 6 months! Can you imagine? They also kept bugging me almost weekly with 1,000 other products they wanted me to buy from them... The worst vendor I have ever worked with

  Wish there was zero stars.
  Switched to them Jan 1, 2023, will be switching again Jan 1, 2024 despite how horrible switching payroll companies is.
  They failed to file/pay our state taxes in Q1 despite taking the money out of our payroll. I've been battling them since May 2023 to get them paid/filed with the state. Here we are at almost year-end, and still not filed.
  At this point I'm going to file/pay myself, and then my lawyer can discuss with Paychex on getting our $$ back.
  Stay far away!

  Unethical, non-responsive and incompetent. If I could give 0 stars I would… STAY AWAY FOR PAYROLL SERVICES! They never filled any of my quarterly paperwork, even though my agreement stated they were responsible. I got constant letters from the state for unpaid wage taxes, UC and other missing reports. Paychex did not respond, did not support and refused to pay any back dated reports they never filed on my behalf. DO NOT use this company!

  This company is absolutely horrible. It should be reported to the government or something it’s ridiculous. They took $400 out of my husband‘s paycheck said it was for a 401(k) that he was never told about never received any information and never put his legal signature on anything concerning a 401(k) plan. we have been waiting for two months now to get that money and they will not return it. They keep lying to him and telling him they sent it. They sent it they sent it and they have not sent it at All, this company is a scam. Would love to know what to do to report this company to a higher authority. My husband’s company uses them because they’re cheap so his company is of no help.
