I have tried to redeem a gift card for over a year now and they always say "sold out". Supposedly every Thursday they are available to first come first served. I log on and immediately redeem every Thursday, but it always processes for 10 minutes and then says they're all gone and to try again next week. This business is a complete scam. I have tried to contact the company, but they don't agree to provide a gift card and continue to blame it on the platform.Customer Answer

The company offers redemption of points earned for gift cards. I have used this app since about 2017 when you could instantly redeem points for gift cards. Something changed with the way they operate in the last couple years and customers now find out pretty quickly these gift cards do not exist and the points end up being completely useless. The always say the gift cards are sold out. And even if to choose one, they will come back and say its unavailable and to try again next time. **************** is useless. This is a data farming scam. They get information from customers for free while not fulfilling their end of the deal because it doesnt exist. I had enough points to redeem a $25 gift card, but none are ever available. Theyre offering something they cannot deliver.Customer Answer

This company is effectively scamming people out of their data, even if they aren't technically a scam. They advertise gift cards in exchange for points, but it is effectively impossible to do so. The points can only be used on Thursdays at 1 PM, and the app suddenly freezes at that time until gift cards are sold out. It is dishonest marketing to offer "gift cards" if the redemption is near impossible. They should be taken to court for false advertising since this change to "redemption" policies.Initial Complaint

This app is a scam. You give them access to your data and are making them a ton of money and you cant redeem your points without a fake lottery system once a week. And only redeem $25 at a time but you may be able to actually redeem once in three months of trying. I have $375 worth of points to redeem. How is this company able to act in this manner? It is now impossible to redeem gift cards. The app indicates the cards are sold out immediately each week. Drop is linked to my credit card account and bank account. This was not the user agreement that I signed up with. It is a change that has occurred over the last six months. I have contacted customer support and ** told that there is nothing they can do about it. I have earned points to redeem a gift card and I would like to collect it.Customer Answer

Since the gift card redemption process changed, I have set a timer while at work for every Thursday at 12:59 pm so that I can redeem my $150 worth of points. Week after week theyre sold out. After all of these months, Ive only been able to redeem one $25 card. Ive submitted several tickets (as I see theyve suggested to other BBB complaints) but always get the runaround. The points that were already banked when the change occurred should have been honored through the old system of redemption. Changing the rules in the middle of the game and making it nearly impossible to win is unethical and should be illegal.Customer Answer

This company has failed to honor its terms...close to a year I have been trying to cash in my gift card but am having the same issue everyone is having...I stopped shopping long ago and won't relink my credit card as they are fraudulent...I am like everyone wanting this resolved as they can't simply wish it away...if they can't honor it then they should be honest about thatInitial Complaint

I have been a user of DROP since 2018. This app used to be so good. Recently, they changed the rule of redeeming for gift cards. I have tried for multiple times to redeem gift cards but they were "sold out" after one second, making my remaining ***** points totally useless. Very dishonest business. Drops is an app where you can earn points to redeem for gift cards. I have tried for over a month to redeem my points for a gift card. I have been unsuccessful in redeeming and when I reached out to the company they stated that they changed the redemption process and now you have to do it on Thursdays at 10am PST. So for the past 4 Thursdays I have tried to do just that. I log on and with 15 sec it says the cards are already sold out. This is such a scam. i have over $200 of points and cannot redeem them. Everytime I email the company I get the same canned response that they appreciate my feedback. I'd like to see this app shut down so that they stop scamming people who fairly earned their points.Customer Answer

Drop is supposed to use my information in exchange for points that can be redeemed for gift cards. The amount of gift cards is at a certain time every week. I have tried numerous weeks to redeem my points, and have been unsuccessful. Why are there so few gift cards that the company basically seems like a scam at this point. They are not providing services which were promised. I am sure a default message will be added by the company to this complaint, that it is not a scam.Customer Answer
