      I was looking for cheap internet, and I came across Astound Broadband by RCN, they had a promo called MA FREE, and the deal was very good, it had a two year deal for $35 a month, with the first month free, modem free of rental for the two years, and free installation, which was a savings of $79, and I wanted to keep my landline for my home phone. The total charge per month was $46.33, I thought I did pretty well, but on installation day the Tech had no setup for the landline, so that was the first problem, I call customer service, and this was the second problem, I went to chat first, and no one could help me, then to the phone, and still no help, on to a supervisor, and still no help, and then onto her supervisor with no help! In the mean time they dropped my calls six times, and of course when I called back I had to go through everything from a new. The best they were going to offer me was a landline with a installation of $79, and a monthly bill of $70 for my internet, and phone, no thank you!! I'm still battling, but I've given up on the landline, and still working on my original price for the internet.

      Worst company I have ever had to deal with. They were supposed to come out today to hook up service. Nobody showed up. So they have rescheduled me for next Friday. I work from home so not sure how thats going to happen with no WiFi

      Same problem as ********* R - I was given a new modem that stores recordings in the cloud. I get video loading interruptions frequently - and it's totally intolerable! I will cancel Astound cable if this keeps up. I'll go with Hulu, etc. instead, and maybe save money. I am paying $300+ bucks a month, which is blatant highway robbery. Maybe this intolerable service is doing me a favor by making me get rid of this lousy service. I have to give them a star to post, otherwise, they'd get zero stars.

      Astound is the worst ISP I've ever had my whole life. My internet speeds 12 years ago in college were infinitely better than what I get right now. Not to mention service goes out all the time, currently out right now at 10:45 AM in *************** Their customer service team is awful, I have been hung up on while on hold for 15 minutes + . I scheduled a technician to come out ** of the poor service (My 16 year old cousin knows more than he does) Technician did nothing and they slapped a $80 charge on my account. I just ran a speedtest and my phone hotspot has faster speeds.

      We loved WOW and the RCN takeover was fine until our WOW modem died in February. RCN came out right away (Feb 28) and replaced the modem but we never got above 100MB speed (on an 800 MB plan). They replaced the line in the backyard (over the grass, not buried) but still didn't hit 100 and were told someone had to "fix it outside". NO ONE EVER CAME. Called March 14 - was told they had no record of more work being needed and someone would call me. NO ONE EVER DID. Called 3/29 - was told another technician would have to come out - he said the same as the first guy, couldn't fix it, so someone else would be out. NO ONE EVER CAME. Meanwhile, we still have a cable running through our backyard and now mowing season is starting. Called 4/7 - put in a ticket. NO ONE CAME. Called 4/12 - put in a ticket. NO ONE CAME. Called 4/17 - said the crew would call me about the cable that week. NO ONE CALLED. Called 4/20 - sent a THIRD technician out who was the SAME GUY that was here in February and asked "did something else go wrong"? I told him no one ever fixed the original problem! So 2+ hours later and lots of phone support with his supervisor, they FINALLY were able to get our speeds up. I guess no one needed to do work outside after all! But we STILL have a cable lying in our grass in the backyard. On 4/20 I was told it was going to be buried on 4/22. Today is 4/25 and NO ONE HAS COME TO BURY THE LINE. I asked for a credit for the 9 weeks we were getting 90MBs instead of 800 and got $30 off our bill. This is ridiculous.

      Honestly the worst cable and internet company we have ever had. This company bought our original cable company and we were changed with no notice. When calling customer service it is always someone elses fault.. It has been a mess. Many times I must reboot the router because nothing works. If you install the Astound + app, to stream the television you pay for when you are not at home, it doesnt work. It may work briefly on your phone but it will not stream to anything you can actually see. Why have an app if it is worthless? Maybe it works somewhere in the country?

      The worst cable service I ever had. Internet is always loading video every 2 minutes I have called customer service they reset my modem which doesnt work we had them come to the house they were there for 1 hour worked for 2 days we can not watch tv without loading video every 2 minutes if you want cable DO NOT GO WITH ASTOUND . We were with WoW for years never had a problem now with Astound the worst cable and internet service I would not recommend this service to anyone

      This company is unprofessional. I was given a window period of when the technician would arrive. Minutes before the technician was to arrive i receive a phone call from **** stating the technician will arrive 3 hours late. Ive called back numerous of times to customer service. **************** stated there was no reason why the technician changed the schedule time. I have made several phone calls in regards to the technicians arrival being changed with out any resolution.i spoke with **** several times after I called the main customer service. **** was the contact person on the local level. I was appalled by his unprofessional attitude and his callous responses as to why the technician has not arrived. This is not the first time I had an issue with the technicians not adhering to their time frames. They expect you be home so they can either show up 3 hours early ,do not show up on their time frame , or change your appointment last minute. They will change your appointment and not follow what the work order says.

      I would give zero stars were that an option. I called astound to cancel my service and not only did they not cancel my service when I had asked them to, they billed me for the next billing period and charged much more money than what my bill would normally have cost. When I called in the customer service representative acted surprised that my service just said cancellation pending as opposed to cancelling but offered no other assistance and tried claiming I still owed them money. When I told them I would refuse to pay a bill for a period where my service should have been turned off--I received a debt collector's notice from them months later. I paid it so that my credit wouldn't get ruined but hands down the skeeviest business practices I've ever experienced. Also did I mention that in the years I was with them my internet costs would just go up constantly with no explanation and no notice.

      So sketchy. I returned my equipment on 9/7/2022 and then RCN put me in collections for equipment that I returned, and now that I am trying to dispute it they are saying oh yea it was returned yesterday (03/28/2023) all of a sudden now that I've put in a complaint. Completely ridiculous because now my credit is affected for their mess up and they can't do anything about it. Also the amounts they give me do add up. Very frustrating and would not recommend them to anyone.
