      I would give Astound zero stars if I could. I ended my contract with RCN as I was ************ and my new home location did not support RCN's service. I returned the equipment that was given to me (modem/router). In Astound's records, they had listed that a TiVO device was also leased to me. I had never received (or used) a TiVO device. Since I did not return the TiVO Device (since you can't return what you never had), I was charged a fee. I called to dispute the fee and I was told that someone from RCN would reach out in 2-3 days either by phone or email to discuss the outcome of my dispute. I did not hear anything for almost two weeks. At that time, I received a collections notice from a third party collector. When I called RCN, they did not look into whether the device - I was allegedly leased - was even utilized. Do not use RCN - their record-keeping is flawed and they will - mid-dispute - make a collections claim. I paid the amount just to put the whole ordeal behind me, but awful, awful business practices.

      Worst internet ********** can waste. this is the worst internet service I have ever had it constantly cuts out and when it does you can be sure you will never get someone on the phone, the customer service line will not allow you to talk to someone while the internet is out and it will just hang up on you. go somewhere else, and if the place you live only offers this company RUN!!

      Had them for years now and i pay for faster speeds and I get massive lag spikes throughout the week and frankly it's terrible. I had **** mbps today and it's laughable. It happens regularly and it shouldn't because i live in ******. It's not like i'm in a hard to service area or something. Would not recommend. I can't switch because ******* isn't in my area and ******* is contractual.

      Would not help me after I signed a contract under false pretenses, instead saying that I need to get in touch with the sales rep myself to fix it, even though he is not responding.I initially asked the sales rep if the *** fee, which was left blank on the contract, was included in the monthly price he quoted me or if it would be sepatate. He said (in text) "Yes. I include it in all my pricing that's just the sales sheet", I therefore signed the contract.He was either uninformed or lying to make the sale, because on my bill that fee is in addition to the quoted monthly price. I called customer service to try to reduce my bill to the amount that I signed on to pay, and they said they would not credit me and I have to work with the sales rep directly (who is not responding to me) even though it is their employee. They said they can't see on their end who the rep was and they did not even ask me his name. Astound must not care if its salespeople lie to make a sale.

      Internet goes down multiple times literally every single night. By far the worst ISP I have ever had experience with.

      Do Not Trust Astound/Grande They dont honor their own instructions. I discontinued my service with them because their service cost was becoming outrageous. I was given instructions by an email on how to return the equipment, which I followed. I delivered the equipment to their equipment return collection box at their main office in **** on **************. Only to discover that they dont honor their own policies and I was billed for the equipment anyway. And then they didnt inform me but I found out from a collection agency.

      They are the WORST COMPANY EVER. Charging me ****** a month for just internet. They were supposed to come uninstall the wiring in NOVEMBER 2022 and take the modem and WI-FI box but never showed up. Then I get a bill in JUNE of 2023 for the equipment ******. I think they were hoping I got rid of it. Thankfully I didnt but I dont have a car to drop it off.. they said thats MY PROBLEM and they dont send people out to uninstall so now I have bulky wiring around my house and no way to drop off the equipment. NOBODY SHOULD USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE HORRIBLE AND SO IS THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE I would give ZERO STARS IF I COULD

Customers are responsible for returning equipment at the time of disconnection, and we offer a few different options for doing so.       Worst internet provider, I have ever had. They bought out WOWWAY and I was forced to use their services, they did not tell me anything and started charging me for the **** whole home router which I had for free previously with WOWWAY. then when I wanted to switch to a different router they told me I HAD to have a tech come install it and set it up. The tech called me at 10am which was the appointment that he didnt have the router and would come at 4pm instead. he came at 4pm and unboxed the router, and plugged in the power cable and ethernet cable and then Left. He left me with the setup of the device. Mind I stayed home and lost wages for the day due to the tech visit where I had to set it up anyways. They did not provide any support when I asked about this. they simply said they would take $10 off my bill but provided me a price that was higher then the price I was paying. They falsely advertise 1.2gbps internet when I asked for it they said it was only available for new customers, then said they could upgrade me to it then said they were not able too. throughout the time Ive had Astound they never failed to leave me ASTOUND of how much worse their service and customer service could get. If I had a choice to I would leave 0 stars!

      The worst. Beware of the hidden ridiculous fees. I've had this service for a long time set up on auto pay. Never had an issue. One month, my card that was on autopay was near it's limit and payment declined. The only time this has happened on my account. I received an email alerting me that this payment was declined so I went on and made payment, not a late payment, it was paid on time, BUT Astound say's too bad, you're charged an extra $30 admin fee (like they did anything) because your payment was declined, even though payment was made on time. I called assuming they'd for sure remove this ridiculous fee. Not a chance. They don't care. Look for another provider.

      I was looking for cheap internet, and I came across Astound Broadband by RCN, they had a promo called MA FREE, and the deal was very good, it had a two year deal for $35 a month, with the first month free, modem free of rental for the two years, and free installation, which was a savings of $79, and I wanted to keep my landline for my home phone. The total charge per month was $46.33, I thought I did pretty well, but on installation day the Tech had no setup for the landline, so that was the first problem, I call customer service, and this was the second problem, I went to chat first, and no one could help me, then to the phone, and still no help, on to a supervisor, and still no help, and then onto her supervisor with no help! In the mean time they dropped my calls six times, and of course when I called back I had to go through everything from a new. The best they were going to offer me was a landline with a installation of $79, and a monthly bill of $70 for my internet, and phone, no thank you!! I'm still battling, but I've given up on the landline, and still working on my original price for the internet.
