I am reporting a serious issue with ETS concerning my GRE General Test in October 2025. I prepared for over a year, used official study materials, and followed all rules. Before the test began, the ******* asked me to adjust my camera so the door was visible. I complied.Soon after, ETS emailed that my scores could not be reported because I may have received assistance. I received no assistance of any kind. The message did not include any specific evidence or documentation.I have contacted ETS many times by phone and email. Phone desk staff were calm and respectful. A supervising representative was hostile and dismissive and did not provide a clear explanation, a fair appeal process, or any proof. When I requested a retest, I was told I would have to pay the full fee ******** my opinion, canceling scores without sharing evidence risks looking like a revenue strategy, especially now that many graduate programs consider the GRE optional or not required. If the allegation were supported, ETS should present the evidence to the test taker. Relying on a one-sided interpretation is not evidence and erodes trust.

They have the worst customer ********************** I've death with. I apparently have two accounts, even though I can't get information to sign into one. I've been trying to get them merged but am not getting help. I call when the email says to but am told they can't do anything over the phone. After a week they finally call me, unfortunately I miss the call. They lie in the message and say they've tried calling before, but they haven't. I call like requested in the voicemail and still can't get my issue resolved.

I don't know where to start. They seem unable to provide even the most basic level of customer support functions. Logging into my account took a week of missed/partially answered emails, chats, and phone calls leading nowhere. Disability accommodations are confusing and take an exorbitant amount of time. It takes far too much work to actually hear back from a person, or talk to someone live. Getting a fee reduction also took weeks of needless emailing and calling, in what should not have taken more than a business day or two to straighten out. Customer ********************** constantly hands off your case without resolving the original issue(s), it would honestly pain me to go back into the excruciating detail of everything that they missed but please believe me when I say it. I am convinced, after reading other reviews online with the same experiences--where people ultimately just ie, paid more for the test prep when their voucher didn't work, or paid to retake the test when it was clearly the company's fault for some at-home issue that made their test unusable, etc--that this is likely just how the company tries to make continued profit in a world that increasingly rebukes use of the test. It's unethical. It makes me seriously reconsider applying to the one grad school on my list that still requires the GRE.

My concern is regarding misinformation and subsequent array of neglectful emails repeating the same trite response.I gave ***** recently and got to know that the score needs to be sent a day before the test by 10pm. But I was certain about having read it was 10pm on the day of the test and I was correct. Link for the same: *************************************************************************************************16kytgt*_gcl_aw*R0NMLjE3NTg5ODc3MTkuQ2p3S0NBandpc25HQmhBWEVpd0EwekVPUl9Mdk81Q1JTVHpCQU94eTJzazFjbGM5bFNJMHZzX1RmZTVqZG1jbk9xME1vOFo4UGRzbkxCb0N1Z2tRQXZEX0J3RQ..*_gcl_au*MTIwNDEwMzE1NS4xNzU4ODMwMzQ4LjI1ODAxMzc3My4xNzYwMDk3MDc2LjE3NjAwOTcwODE.*_ga*MTAyMDU4NjUzMi4xNzU4ODMwMzQ4*_ga_T2TH8KSGFZ*czE3NjA1Mzg2NjkkbzU0JGcxJHQxNzYwNTM4Njc5JGo1MCRsMCRoMA..It is clearly mentioned in the above link that "recipients who can be added through your ETS account until 10 p.m. on the day of your test"Since it is misinformation from a legitimate ets website, the case falls under misinformation. I have an email thread on the day of the test as well as for weeks after which I cannot attach here. To whoever this may concern, reach out to me regarding this and I can share the email thread with you.

I have taken two GRE tests with them. The first fine, the second one experienced some kind of hardware/software failure. The test center handled everything swiftly. But ETS, they tried to gaslight me into thinking nothing went wrong, even though it was witnessed and reported by a *******. I escalated my issue to their ********************************* which is ironic as they certainly did not advocate for me, only reiterating an empirically false claim that there was no report or evidence showing the failure of the product, despite the test center providing clear evidence of the ******* is impossible to find contact information for them. Many of the phone numbers provided by them do not work. I do not know how to communicate my problems to them and just get a simple retake voucher.

This business is an absolute scam. If you need testing services, pay the extra $30 to use IELTS instead - they will give you a full refund within a reasonable timeline, as they are not absolute scammers. ***** will charge you extra fees, not allow you to change test times, not allow you to cancel within minutes of booking a test without charging a 50% fee, and will cancel the test on you and still charge you for it, rendering no goods or services despite paying for them.

I would give 0 stars if possible. I canceled a test and was not given my 50% money back, so I disputed the charge. During the process, they gave me my 50% money back, so obviously, the dispute did not go through. This was all in April. Now it is August, and I just got a "Second Notice" (never got a first notice or notification that I had an outstanding balance) in the mail saying I owe $57, but it does not state what it is for. I called and asked and found out that the $57 was an "accident" on their end and that I actually owe $30. I asked what the $30 was for, and they said, "reconciliation fee," meaning I am being charged for starting a dispute with my credit card, even though I lost the dispute. I asked where on their website it states this, and the woman I was talking with refused to answer my question and kept diverting me to different topics. She also regularly talked over me, and when I asked for her name, she refused to give it to me. I had to ask 5 times before she gave me her name. I also asked for her manager, and she said that she does not have one and that there is no one above her. Very frustrating conversation, and felt scammed for getting a second notice, incorrect fee on the notice, and nowhere on the website did it back up what the woman was telling me.

ETS is a scam. I scheduled a math subject test, then a few hours later decided I'd rather take the full GRE instead. The Math subject test cost a total of $187. The full test is $228. I would have been paying ETS an additional $41 if they had allowed for this switch. Unfortunately, ETS does not allow for test cancellations without paying a 50% cancellation fee (so, $92). I cannot find this cancellation fee information anywhere on the ETS page. I called customer support, and they lied and told me it is in the terms and conditions. It absolutely is not. I've checked every single link I can find on the GRE page and not one of them mentions this ridiculous policy. I'm sure they've hidden the information somewhere behind layers of nested hyperlinks to obfuscate it as much as possible in order to trap people like me into paying them 100s of dollars to take these tests.I am now canceling my subject test entirely and will not be rescheduling with them. They could have gotten $228 from me. Now they'll only get $92. I hope that's worth it to them. Most of my friends are currently in the same grad school application process and I've convinced 9 of them to remove the schools that require the GRE from their list, so that's another $2,052 ETS is losing because of this lack of transparency. If anyone from ETS reads this: your company is not going to last. Every year, more and more schools turn away from GRE requirements. If you want to respond to your fading relevance by trapping customers with horrible cancellation policies, that is only going to push profit away from you faster. I will spend the rest of my life convincing anyone I come across in the grad school application process not to give you a single cent. I hope the $92 is worth it.

I took a Praxis Test at home on June 29th. I was left waiting for over 30 minutes because the ******* was late. When the ******* decided to get online, was ******* me through the initial process prior to test. Finally got my score back, which was almost the same amount correct as my last one in each area but my score went down. I purchased the suggested study prep material and made sure I hit every single area for the response section as the study material recommended. How when provide more information and hit every single area suggested by the prep material, you get the same exact score previously when you barely wrote anything. You call customer ********************** to request a score review and they try to talk you out of doing it. Then try to aggravate you when they ask you to spell your name out for the payment information by saying a completely not even close letter as to what you said. There has to be another company that can provide the Praxis test.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I am extremely disappointed with ETS and the way theyve handled my recent experience purchasing Praxis study materials. On June 12, 2025, I attempted to buy study materials through their website. The site froze after ************** received no confirmation or access. I tried again and was ultimately charged twice, but only received one copy of the product. When I contacted ETS on June 17, I was told they would process a refund in 57 business days. That refund never appeared. When I called again, they denied the second charge even happened, even though my bank statement clearly shows the duplicate charge on June 12. Their only solution was to tell me to dispute it with my bank.I filed a formal dispute through my bank on June 30. My bank has confirmed:- There were two identical charges on June 12.- ETS has never issued a refund.- ETS has not responded to the banks formal inquiry about the ***********, ETS is withholding my Praxis test scores until I repay the charge I rightfully disputed. Theyve also added a back-charge fee that actually exceeds the original cost of the study materials. This is unacceptable. It feels retaliatory and unethical for ETS to withhold scores that I already paid to take, simply because I exercised my right to dispute a duplicate charge that they failed to resolve.Their customer ********************** has been unhelpful, dismissive, and completely unwilling to acknowledge the duplicate chargeeven in the face of clear bank documentation.ETS holds a monopoly on teacher certification testing in many states, and their billing practices and refusal to resolve issues create unnecessary stress and barriers for people who are simply trying to become educators.I strongly warn others to be cautious when dealing with ETS. Their handling of billing issues, lack of accountability, and willingness to punish customers for disputing fraudulent charges are disgraceful.
