ETS is a scam. I scheduled a math subject test, then a few hours later decided I'd rather take the full GRE instead. The Math subject test cost a total of $187. The full test is $228. I would have been paying ETS an additional $41 if they had allowed for this switch. Unfortunately, ETS does not allow for test cancellations without paying a 50% cancellation fee (so, $92). I cannot find this cancellation fee information anywhere on the ETS page. I called customer support, and they lied and told me it is in the terms and conditions. It absolutely is not. I've checked every single link I can find on the GRE page and not one of them mentions this ridiculous policy. I'm sure they've hidden the information somewhere behind layers of nested hyperlinks to obfuscate it as much as possible in order to trap people like me into paying them 100s of dollars to take these tests.I am now canceling my subject test entirely and will not be rescheduling with them. They could have gotten $228 from me. Now they'll only get $92. I hope that's worth it to them. Most of my friends are currently in the same grad school application process and I've convinced 9 of them to remove the schools that require the GRE from their list, so that's another $2,052 ETS is losing because of this lack of transparency. If anyone from ETS reads this: your company is not going to last. Every year, more and more schools turn away from GRE requirements. If you want to respond to your fading relevance by trapping customers with horrible cancellation policies, that is only going to push profit away from you faster. I will spend the rest of my life convincing anyone I come across in the grad school application process not to give you a single cent. I hope the $92 is worth it.

I took a Praxis Test at home on June 29th. I was left waiting for over 30 minutes because the ******* was late. When the ******* decided to get online, was ******* me through the initial process prior to test. Finally got my score back, which was almost the same amount correct as my last one in each area but my score went down. I purchased the suggested study prep material and made sure I hit every single area for the response section as the study material recommended. How when provide more information and hit every single area suggested by the prep material, you get the same exact score previously when you barely wrote anything. You call customer ********************** to request a score review and they try to talk you out of doing it. Then try to aggravate you when they ask you to spell your name out for the payment information by saying a completely not even close letter as to what you said. There has to be another company that can provide the Praxis test.

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I am extremely disappointed with ETS and the way theyve handled my recent experience purchasing Praxis study materials. On June 12, 2025, I attempted to buy study materials through their website. The site froze after ************** received no confirmation or access. I tried again and was ultimately charged twice, but only received one copy of the product. When I contacted ETS on June 17, I was told they would process a refund in 57 business days. That refund never appeared. When I called again, they denied the second charge even happened, even though my bank statement clearly shows the duplicate charge on June 12. Their only solution was to tell me to dispute it with my bank.I filed a formal dispute through my bank on June 30. My bank has confirmed:- There were two identical charges on June 12.- ETS has never issued a refund.- ETS has not responded to the banks formal inquiry about the ***********, ETS is withholding my Praxis test scores until I repay the charge I rightfully disputed. Theyve also added a back-charge fee that actually exceeds the original cost of the study materials. This is unacceptable. It feels retaliatory and unethical for ETS to withhold scores that I already paid to take, simply because I exercised my right to dispute a duplicate charge that they failed to resolve.Their customer ********************** has been unhelpful, dismissive, and completely unwilling to acknowledge the duplicate chargeeven in the face of clear bank documentation.ETS holds a monopoly on teacher certification testing in many states, and their billing practices and refusal to resolve issues create unnecessary stress and barriers for people who are simply trying to become educators.I strongly warn others to be cautious when dealing with ETS. Their handling of billing issues, lack of accountability, and willingness to punish customers for disputing fraudulent charges are disgraceful.

Good evening, I am ****** ********. I took my praxis on June 28, I was told to call the phone number that was in my notes section on my account the ********************** integrity center and they keep telling me to wait 3-5 days. It has been a week now and I am still getting the same answers. This is a major inconvenience and I hope to receive an accurate update soon!

Tried to take the exam at home. Ran all the pre checks confirming that my wifi, bandwidth webcam and all necessary components were functioning well enough to run the proctored exam. This check is done through their program that they have you download. Tried to take the exam and there were countless errors and was unable to take the exam despite passing the precheck and all my wifi devices were running fine. Now they are not refunding me my 200$ and not allowing me to retake the exam for ****************************************************************************************************** taking the exam. Staff at the call center is absolutely not helpful. Terrible experience.

ETS is the **** of a life time. They are nonprofit organization holding future teachers hostage with these test. Why is ETS even allowed to test future American teachers when they are an overseas company. Cant understand anything they are saying over the phone. If you email them they respond two to three days later with a generic customer ********************** email. Feed up with ETS taking future teachers money. This has to be a nonprofit JOKE!!!

At home testing is a scam. My computer passed all the checks, but the program shut down after being approved by the ******* to click 'start test.' ETS refuses to refund me for an issue that is clearly their problem.

I would leave zero stars if I could. I am a devoted teacher working in a title 1 school trying to pass my 5134 art praxis exam and I have taken it 5 times. This most recent time I got a 157 and needed a 158 to pass. Since the exam is selected responses, I cannot pay more money for them to review my exam for that one point. Even if I could review my test score, the money would not be refundable. I have been working in a middle school as a long term substitute teacher so that I can teach art. I am a certified social studies teacher, but I cannot get compensated for my certification because I am teaching art as a substitute teacher. I love teaching art, I have taken the exam five times and seem to get so close, but fail every time. I have paid months and months for the ********* subscription that guarantees 92% percent of participants will pass their praxis once using the ********* tool. This has pushed me to the breaking point of leaving teaching before I have even started. The test is $135 every time. I am truly beaten down and I know that I am a good teacher. This test is the only thing standing in my way from my dream job, but even after countless hours of studying and money spent on top of ****** plans made and projects graded, I still fall short...by one point. This test has to be corrupt at this point.

3 hours on the phone, the system is apparently down, can not take payments. Really? Why is that not posted on the website; since the system was down for the last 36 hours? Help desk is farmed out to people that speak with such a heavy accent, i have trouble understanding. The chatbot they use has not been set up correctly. This company is bad and someone needs to provide an alternative to this abject failure of a test engine for thousands of people.
