      I rented a car on 1/20/2023 for 1/20 - 24 and was charged $495 with $200 security deposit. I called to extend my contract and was told it would be an additional $125 said ok charge my card. I was told I would have to come into the store. Went to look at my bank statement and was charged an additional $301 and then when I brought the car back in I was charged $212 which was very different from the $125 I was quoted over the phone. I paid it. When I get home I get an alert that my bank account was over drawn for $1159.74 from AVIS. LOOKED Deeper into my banking account on the 20th $495 was taken and then an additional $1159.74. That's over what I paid. So totally I was charged $1866.74 for a ten day rental. I paid up front $707 and now my bank account is over drawn by $1159.74 which my direct deposit from work was taken and now I can't pay my mf rent or bills thanks to AVIS, I WILL Review ON ALL PLATFORMS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD WITH THIS BEEN MY FIRST TIME RENTING FROM AVIS. REFUND ME THE ENTIRE $1159.74 I WILL NEVER RENT AGAIN FROM AVIS

      Horrible customer service. They ran out of rental cars and had us along with 20 other people waiting in a line in the freezing cold in a parking lot. They began offering mini vans at an up charge which was absurd! Finally we spoke to a manager and they gave us a minivan at no extra cost. First mini van we received we had to instantly return due to maintenance issues. We waited an additional 30 minutes for a beat up mini van that later alerted us of low oil. Upon driving out the lot we noticed the low tire pressure sign. We thought it was due to cold weather but it wasn't. We were staying in the mountains in the middle of nowhere and we're forced to keep it our entire stay. Customer service was no existent as no one answered ever! We had to stop every day multiple times to put air in the tire. Upon returning the vehicle I was I formed to contact ****** customer service since I reserved the rental with Avis through them. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! BEWARE !

      Terrible, terrible company. I was double charged upon returned their vehicle and even with my bank statements as proof that all was paid and a double charged was needed. They still insisted on not refunding my money. I'm currently opening a lawsuit case against them. Worst rental company ever. If I was you guys, I would never ever rent a car from this shameless, disorganized company.

      Absolutely the worst experience of my life ! I reserved a car from Avis 5 days in advance. When I arrived I was offered a truck or cargo van because they were out of cars. (Why make a reservation?) I was upgraded to a Chevy Tahoe I didn't want. The following day unfortunately I lost the key to the vehicle. I was told I had to have the vehicle towed by their roadside assistance because they have no spare keys. I waited with the vehicle until tow truck arrived and did not want a replacement vehicle. 2 WEEKS LATER AVIS DOES NOT KNOW WHO TOWED THEIR OWN VEHICLE OR WHERE IT IS. They tried to tow the same Vehicle from the same location they towed it from 13 days later and then asked me who towed it and why I abandoned the vehicle. Absolute insanely. I have called the location I rented from over 100 times and they don't answer their phone. Called customer service 20 times or more and have waited hours to speak to a supervisor who ended up being in Mexico. Trying to find a car in Philly. To add insult to injury I left a $250 dollar pair of glasses in the truck. I recieve an email every other day that I have not returned the car. Still not one call from the rental location and customer service tells me I need to give them time to do their job. THEIR OWN ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOWED THEIR OWN VEHICLE AND LOST IT !!!

      Recent Avis Rental. The car I received when I came into Hartsfield this past Thursday apparently had only been wiped down, as the wheels and the car was dirty. On Saturday, the change oil light came on, as well as the low tire pressure warnings... front left was down to 19 and the back right was down to 25. I stopped and filled them both to recommended since each time I hit the brakes, the entire front end shuttered. Yet when I left out to return the car on Wednesday AM, they were both down again (left front was at 22). So, at 5:30 AM in the dark as a single woman, filling tires... then, by the time I had gotten to the airport, the left front was already back down to 24. I have never known Avis to put someone in such an unsafe vehicle. I told the drop off person (Dee), who told me to tell the inside person, who told me he couldn't rectify any concern because I had prepaid. Gave me the Avis Customer Service number to call and instructed me to ask for a supervisor. I called the number and the lady said she was transferring me to a supervisor, but when that person answered (Jessica), she kept asking me, "How can I help you" because she said she was reservations and couldn't do anything about it nor get me to anyone who could. There is no email option, no chat feature, nothing for me to lodge a complaint... and it appears that the company doesn't even care about the quality of its vehicles anymore. I'm surprised and disappointed.

      (Reno-Tahoe Airport) This will be the first and last time I ever go through Avis. Originally I was going to use Enterprise but had seen I got a good discount through my employer so I thought I'd give it a shot. First I will highlight the only upsides we're the booking process was easy (though would come to be misleading upon the day I was picking up the rental) and the gentleman that helped me on the customer service line after all this was very understanding and helpful, he was even able to get a 2 day rental voucher (which I'm not sure if I will even use due to this experience). I had a 3 day, 1000 mile round trip planned to visit an ill family member so I had originally reserved a Prius "or similar" because of the great mpg they get so I would not have to empty my pockets on fuel for the trip. After waiting an excessive amount of time to get this vehicle I was told I was instead getting a newer Tacoma which would be cool and all if Avis was the one paying for all the gas... The next best option was a smaller suv which had just as bad mpg as the Tacoma. To add the younger white lady that helped try to sort this out in the garage was nice however the one older asian lady with highlights inside the airport at the desk had a very negative attitude towards mostly all of the people that came her way as if it was an annoyance for her to do to her job politely. So much so in the time I was there I seen three customers had went off on her a little bit. I wish I could say it was unwarranted but not with how she was acting. Do better.

      This being said, Avis Budget Group tries to maintain adequate inventory levels at all of our locations. However, logistical challenges sometimes occur such as: vehicles not returned on time, vehicles not returned at the designated location, and vehicles not returned in a condition to be re-rented etc. We realize whatever the cause it certainly interrupted your plans.

      We understand although an upgraded vehicle was offered at no extra cost your financial budget was impacted due to fuel consumption cost. We are sorry for any inconvenience you were caused.

      If given another opportunity we are confident that your next car rental hire will meet your satisfaction.

      Rented in Houston George Bush Airport. Returned vehicle and as my usual routine, asked do you need anything else from me. Agent at drop off, "No sir, we will e mail you the bill." 6 MONTHS LATER !!!! I travel to Houston and on my statement at end of month. I see 2 charges for AVIS. I thought AVIS must have made a mistake. I dispute the charge and it turns out AVIS FORGOT TO BILL ME 6 MONTHS AGO. This bill despite having credit card on file? I will be switching car rental companies and will advise my Corp traveling partners and travel agency Concur of this unacceptable drop. AVIS unable to resolve other than I owe a 940 dollar bill that's 6 months old.

      I never denied payment, I questioned a 6 month old charge which made no sense as the charge was based on a "return date in December. I paid as soon as I was made aware but your canned responses along with the services rendered comment are off putting. Your level of customer service is appalling at best. Imagine if I billed your company after your close of year. I am consistently amazed at your low level of interest and blaming a system error. It was not a system error it was a process error. No attempt at remediating the error or at least making an attempt at making a personal contact with the customer. I will stop using Avis, as a preferred member caries no weight or benefits either. I have been given the furthest spots in my rental experience and my promise of upgrades never happen. In fact my latest rental was "given away' prior to my arrival at Ft Meyers Florida, had to wait 45 mins for another vehicle, I'm glad I am a preferred member(sarcasm) Good Luck Avis.

      We have reviewed your complaint and the notes on the case. We regret there was a system error that did not charge your credit card for the rental charges upon completion of the rental on August 5, 2022. Once this error was discovered, you were billed accordingly.

      We understand this is an inconvenience to be billed six months later for a rental; however, service was rendered, and Avis is owed the $941.04 regardless if you were billed six months later.

      I made my reservation with Avis through Expedia for a vehicle large enough for 5 people. After a 12 hour flight we arrived at the Avis desk and handed them my reservation information. They gave us the keys and we walked for about one block to the parking lot. When we opened the vehicle, our suitcases for the two of us did not fit in the car. We attempted to speak with the Avis representative there and he told us that we had to go back to the airport counter. We made our way back to the airport Avis counter. We told the Avis representative the problem and the only option she gave us what to change vehicles with an additional $160 per day in addition to the about $140 per day that we had reserved. (We had reserved a vehicle for $1,419.46 and they upsell the fee to $3,424.15). By this time, my husband and I were exhausted, it was getting dark and we did not know our way around the city. Therefore we signed the papers and I figured I would speak to Avis customer service later. I attempted to call the Avis customer service several times but they continue to wash their hands of any wrong doing. I only sign up to leave 5 star ratings for businesses, however, I am totally disappointed with Avis.

      We have received a reply from the Operations Manager. They have reviewed the case and noted that you had booked a group 'E' midsize (intermediate) vehicle illustrative of a Mitsubishi ASX automatic transmission, 2 bags with Expedia which fits 5 people.

      The station was contacted to establish the type of vehicle that was delivered to you prior to the upgrade but unfortunately it could not be confirmed and it is not recorded on the rental contract nor other documentation since it was refused.

      As we are not present we cannot speak to verbal discussions and as a result rely on the signed documentation as indication to the contents of discussion. According to the signed contract the charges were accepted during the rental process and billed accordingly.
      Therefore we are not in a position to adjust your bill.

      Thank you for your reply but you are not resolving the issue. It appears that you, the Avis headquarter, are completely ignoring the client. I have sent Avis copies of my original reservation with Avis through Expedia which proves everything that I am writing to you about, yet you refuse to stand behind my original reservation and refund me the amount which I was overcharged. If that is the way you treat your clients, then so be it and I will take my future business elsewhere.

      My reservation was made with Avis not with a franchise. Nowhere in my original Avis reservation through Expedia did it say that I was dealing with a franchise. Avis headquarter should be responsible.

      I rented a car in West Palm beach and the cast was $940 I landed at the airport waited 45 minutes for a shuttle. Then once I took the shuttle to the Avis lot I was told I had the wrong Rental lot and had to drive 15 minutes and take an Uber there or they could see if they can get me a car. my $940 car ended up being $1400 and change . I drove the car 110 miles and arrived at my destination and noticed 2 days later that the front tire had a big bubble and a crack in the rubber then I looked at the rear left tire and saw that it had I big chunk of rubber missing in the side wall..
      The Get Car service light came on about 50 times and we had to drive to Tampa the next day 150 miles each way . I was surprised they would rent such a road hazard ?? To rent an unsafe Vehicle should be illegal. Does Avis do any car safety inspections ?? Rented a full size car and ended up with a midsize or economy car for the same price ? We are just happy to have not crashed with this 1st car . The person at the Avis office in Vero Beach was so nice and accommodating so we could keep our vacation plans. Yes even the Second car did have the Dash board message flash up and say this car needs to be serviced.

      PS: the 1st car that was $1400 also had a strong smell of gear oil. I just hope that no one gets hurt renting this Red Toyota Camay. When I did return the 2nd rental I did tell the person at the airport that the Car Service message comes on when driving the car. He was good and had a paint pen in his pocket and wrote on the window to have the car serviced.
