1 starAvis took my money for a confirmed reservation, arrive at airport, sorry sir no cars left. Now they want me to wait 3 to 5 business days to get my money back, funny it didn't take 3 to 5 business days to take my money. There were at least 100 people in line Thursday night Feb 26 at Tampa International all with prepaid confirmed rentals and all were turned away and told take an uber and come back in morning we have no cars left. Every rental with Avis has been met with a problem, will never use them again!!!! Had to spend an additional $800 to rent another vehicle to make a business meeting the following morning 70 miles away!!!Avis Rent A Car

1 starI'm two hours from home, house sitting. Uber is my only source of income due to medical issues. That's the only reason I have this stupid car.
I had one electric rental that I had to constantly stop to charge (SEVEN charging stations- not free ones either) died on me in the woods two nights ago. Still haven't heard back from roadside assistance about it.
I finally get to switch it out ( they only have electric cars). I get that where I'm house sitting after a few Uber rides. NO **** WIRE TO CHARGE IT AT A HOUSE...the location I picked it up from was closed at that point. And it's 40-45 miles away.
Last night I called roadside assistance at 3 am to get a stupid cord to charge this car. Luckily, I had enough battery to get me to and from the ER, but that was it. I Spoke to a super nice representative. They "don't provide that service" but he said a tow truck could come out and charge the car enough to get me to Newark airport.
Still haven't heard back. Almost 9 hours later. At 5 am they had no tow company to connect me with. I fell asleep. No one has called me since. I just woke up - I was supposed to meet with my surgeon today to schedule the last phase of treatment for the whole cancer thing I've been dealing with for over two years. Well, that's not happening. I messaged them at 3 am and asked if it could be a telehealth appointment.... nope (#****************************. So Avis, you're impacting my wallet and my health.Avis Rent A Car

1 starAbsolutely the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. My flight Into the Orlando Sanford airport was delayed - early on in the day- I called to let them know and to CONFIRM they had my flight information. They assured me they did- and that I was all set and not to worry - no matter what time I got into the airport that SOMEONE WOULD be available to assist me and I WOULD have my car - again- my flight was delayed- I gave them a call to let them know and AGAIN confirm I was still going to have my car - yes they assured me again I would - finally - I received a call from them later - saying they saw another delay - not to worry - they would make sure someone was able to assist me- even when my flight was due to land past closing hours- they promised I would be all set. Come to find out - I arrived to find - they were closed- I called customer service only be to told "too bad- we can't help you" now- I'm stranded overnight in the airport. At 4am an employee showed up only for me be told " we have no cars left and nobody can help you until 8am anyway "
Your service is the worst I've ever experienced- your employees are rude... and I will NEVER be using Avis rental car again... I'm extremely frustrated and angry with the way I was treated - lied to and left stranded all night after I took extreme measures to confirm 3 times that I would have a car when I arrived - so that THIS situation would NOT happen-
I should have booked with **********- as their representative at the next booth over - stayed until their last customers flight had arrived and they were happily granted their vehicle.... What a joke of a business Avis rental car is- lesson learned - NEVER again... save yourself the nightmare I have been through and DO NOT BOOK with AVIS .... Unless you love being lied to- treated with zero respect, enjoy the lack of anyone in their company phone lines even trying to help and love being stranded after a long day/night of flying and delays....

1 starRenter beware! If you drive under 70 miles total, you will be charged for a tank of gas even if you fill it before the return. Budget/Avis must be desperate to make money to have that rule in place and hope that the customer does not check the receipt.Avis Rent A Car

1 starWe rented a car and returned it in exactly the same condition. 4 months later, I got a letter stating that I damaged the car and owe $2000 ( no proof was provided). The letter came from ********. Individual that received the car noted it was fine on return. They are definitely pulling some shady stuff at Avis, and I'll be lawyering up against them if needed. I also plan on reporting this to the attorney general, as this seems to be a common practice for them.Avis Rent A Car

1 starTerrible customer service. My car died and was left sitting for 2 days, leaving me stranded and having to find my own way back to the airport. One customer service representative flat out told me on the phone there was nothing she could do. Horrible experience and I will never use Avis again. I will strongly discourage anyone I know from ever using them either. At 7 days out, I even got a pending charge on my account saying I had the car for 13 days at that point. It's like there's no common sense when dealing with customer service. And don't even expect an apology. The reps that answer the phone sound irritated to even be talking to you. We have reviewed your Complaint and the notes from your case ********. Based upon the findings of our internal investigation, our records revealed that your card was charged the amount of $82.30 for the rental. A refund in the amount of $ 20.53 has been credited to the visa card ending in **** that was used for the rental. Please allow 3-5 business days for the processing of the refund to your account.
I have shared you feedback with our Senior management for the issues you outlined in your complaint so this can immediately be appropriately addressed with the location's staff and Management to prevent any recurrences in the future.

1 starEvery time I rent from Avis Rental Car, I am diligent to return the car full of gas. Unfortunately, they have a blanket policy that if you don't put a minimum number of miles on the car during the rental period, they automatically charge you a $16.99 fuel service fee and don't even tell you they are doing it. Often, they don't check the mileage when the vehicle is returned and then you get charged automatically. Always check your receipt and call the company to get this charge removed if you returned the car after refilling it. Save your receipt because they will probably ask for a copy of it as proof that you refilled it. Anyhow, this scam has got to stop because it has happened to me 3 out of the last 5 times I've rented from Avis. Unsatisfactory and fraudulent.Review fromCorinna O

1 starAvis car rental at the Burbank Airport is horribly understaffed. The service agents don't know what they are doing. We showed up slightly early to our reservation and they tried to charge us over $100 for 1 hour. Not only that, a representative came over to the credit card machine on the customer's end to accept all the charges! He even forged the signature! My husband noticed what he was doing and argued it right away. We had to come back a second time and now have to wait in their long line again. This is ridiculous! The line is barely even moving as I'm writing this review. I would give them zero stars if I could. Avoid!!! Oh look, the line just got even longer!Review fromMark S

1 starI rented a car from Avis in Mexico, Cabo to be exact. They rented me a car with a bad/repaired tire unbeknownst to me. It went flat after going over a speed bump, actually the tire burst. I took it to the Bridgestone tire company to repair it. And what they found and I have pics of, is that the tire had been previously repaired where the burst occurred. Thank goodness it was not on the highway or my family and I could have been easily killed. When I confronted the Avis office they told me the car was in good condition despite my photos to the contrary and charged me for a new tire! Avis Mexico is evidently just a name and not actually part of Avis US as Avis US did nothing to correct this! Be very careful and do not rent from Avis in Cabo!!Avis Rent A Car

1 starI already wrote a Google Review, but I am still waiting on my refund on a car I didn't even get. I decided to go with Avis cause my Amex gave me a discount. Should've gotten a car through someone else. They told me 30 minutes before my reservation that a car won't be available until 2 hours after my reservation time. I told her to cancel and not only did they not cancel they took money from my account even though I NEVER rented from them. I saw a refund of $74 something credited to my account but I'm missing like 75% of it. I have called twice to ask for my money back and each time they gave me a different timeline. At first it was 3-5 days, then its 7-10. It's been past 10 business days. This company is a joke. I wasn't trying to be a Karen on the phone but the lady who called me was unapologetic, got smart, and didn't even cancel my reservation. A vehicle in your reserved car class should have been ready when you arrived at the Norcross location. At Avis Budget Group we try to maintain adequate inventory levels at all of our locations. However, logistical challenge occasionally occur such as: vehicles not returned on time, vehicles not returned at the designated location, vehicles not returned in a condition to be re-rented etc. We realize whatever was the cause it interrupted your plans.
We are sorry for any inconvenience you were caused. A refund has been generated to American Express account number ending xxxx**** and will post within the next five business days.
