I received 4 violations; T132399337923, T132399480474, T122399344008, T122399344009.I have an ez pass account, I called within one month (before the due date), but they refuse to wave the fees and stated that I have to pay the $200 fee plus $8 tolls. Which is absurd, there is a toll of $0.75 cents with a $50 fee. Any state (**, **, etc) if for any reason the tolls are unpaid, I am charged only the tolls not any extra fee. This is really a scam!Initial Complaint

EZ pass ** adds a fee to toll violations that is robbery and makes no sense. A 2$ toll become 52$ and a 4$ toll becomes 104$ this mark up can not stand. That not 100% mark up it is outrageous and should be criminal. 160$ in tolls 2,000$ in fees thats not gonna fly. ThanksInitial Complaint

I received a charge for $25 on my credit card. I haven't used a toll road in nearly 2 years, so I went digging and was able to find a statement from EZ Pass ** in my email. It looks like I've been charged $2 every month since I opened my account in 2019. I want to cancel my EZ Pass, but I cannot log into my account and when I call customer ********************** the *** doesn't work.Initial Complaint

On 3/23/23 there was an EZ Pass reader that did not register my tag and I got a violation notice. When attempting to dispute the violation because I'm a ** EZ Pass customer, it was rejected for reasons that did not apply. I could no longer file a dispute online with refuting information and had to call their service center. After multiple attempts to call just to get an automated answering service, I spoke to someone after waiting for 20 minutes. They were very cordial, but they couldn't resolve anything because the record was locked. They made a note to charge my ezpass account, but a few days later I received another rejection notice for the same reasons that didn't apply initially. The whole process seems like a way to have people pay the $50 admin fee just to avoid the aggravation of disputing. You cannot pay or dispute a toll/violation until after you receive a notice, and by that point they automatically tack on the $50 fee. Furthermore, the toll on the violation doesn't match the toll from the same booth the day before. The difference is pennies, but it seems like someone is pulling and Office Space and taking pennies off each toll. This whole process is beyond acceptable and seems illegal in practice.Initial Complaint

** Pass both ** and ** are charging a $50 administration fee in addition to the normal toll charge for every instance in which I used the ** Pass lane. This is regardless of making the payments and they have informed me that anytime an ** pass lane is used (with out the use of their device) I will be charged $50. There are instance in which there is no other option but to use the ** Pass lane. These charges stem from a trip taken in March 2023 from ** to **. I have copies of the cashed check and will happily provide if someone contacts me as there is sensitive information I do not want to post here.Initial Complaint

I recieved a letter from ********** ********************************** LLP (Attorney) stating that owe EZ pass a total of $369.95 for 7 violations that occurred over a year ago. For each violation, I submitted a dispute form with payment for tolls, stating that due to only one toll being open, it was unsafe for me to cross over several lines to pay toll. The customer ********************** representative stated that there is nothing they can do and I have to pay administrative fees which are $50 each.Initial Complaint

** EZpass extortion via refusal to charge my ** Ezpass which is in good standing. The charge a 50$ fee for a **** toll. This is ridiculously expensive especially when the toll violation was due to a defective EZpass Tag.Tool tag battery was defective; while ** EZpass quickly replaced the faulty tag and removed all penalties on this tolls before we realized the tag was defective. ** EZpass refuses to do so after 2 attempts to address the issue (1 attempt online, 1 attempt via their automated phone system).Tried calling them multiple time but each time the wait was 40+ minutes which I cannot afford to just sit there for their lack of proper customer *************************** state my contest was 1_ Beyond the 50 days windows, which it is not,Please observe that the fine states that I had until April 23rd to contest the fine I did contest the fine via their automated system.Their first response was dated April 20 I immediately contested this again and received a second rejection dated April 28 2_My car plates are not registered on my EZpass which is not true all Vehicules have been registered for years. 3_The EZpass account is not funded which is again not true since I am on autopay and no credit card charge from EZpass was ever declined.Initial Complaint

Desperately in need of guidance and appreciate any assistance with EZPASS! - In December of 2022, my credit card on file with EZPass expired and I received a number of toll violations in the mail. - I paid them as they came in, but they were so numerous and confusing that I called EZPass Customer ********************** in February. - When I finally got thru and spoke to an agent, she confirmed that all of my violations were paid and that I would receive an email in 7 -10 days allowing me to re-active my account and re-add my credit card with the revised expiration date.- A few days later, I received a bill from a separate Credit Collections for EZPass in the amount of $300 for tolls EZPass had just confirmed had been paid.- A few more days, I received an email from EZPass saying all fines were paid and I could go on-line and request a new account. I tried to do that and the system told me I could not due to a violation on my car.- I called the Credit Collection and they said, I owe the $300 and they are not allowed to communicate with EZPass to confirm that I had paid.- Friday 4/28, I invested the 2 1/2 hours of wait time and called EZPASS again. The agent I spoke to said, yes, she could verify that all the tolls were paid, but my account cannot be re-activated unless I pay $450 dollars and there is no way around it. I asked what the $450 was for if I had already paid the fines- she said that is what I owe for processing fees??? I asked for a supervisor, she told me no one was available and that someone would call me within 24 hours. That has not happened! What do I do? Who can I reach out to for help???? EZPass Account G5 *************To complicate matters - I work to Equifax and any poor reflection on my credit can impact my employment. Please let me know how I can get this resolved - I have all of the cashed checks and the email from them stating all issues were resolved - but are not, obviously.Initial Complaint

Have an ezpass tag linked to an account with sufficient funds. Says I went through without tag and then now have over 550 in fees, ezpass never notified account holder of any of this. Car plates are registered to account with tag. Placed 550 dollars into collection services for an account with sufficient funds. Staff are rude. No customer support with all the money the are ripping off customers there should be plenty of supplemental staff. With all BBB inquiries and complaints I do hope this business is being investigated if not legal ramifications on my end will be taken into effect. Ezpass has been exploited over many major news stations for a reason they are crooks. I want these fees rectified and taken off my credit report ASAP. Do a better job of doing your simple job ezpass.Initial Complaint

I am a ** ezpass customer because I have had issues with ** ezpass before. My account has always been in good standings however ** has had issues with their toll booth readers (( confirmed by a representative with ** ezpass )) and ** is charging me $150.00 for a courtesy fee. I reached out to them and after being on hold for a total of 4.5 hours over a 2 day span (( I can only put my life on pause for so much per day to speak to ezpass )) I was told by ** ezpass representative that a manager would call me back within **** business days. I have yet to receive a call back and now am being contacted by an attorney for ** ezpass.
