GFL has failed to pick up garbage and recycling for over 2 weeks. I have called multiple times and finally a customer service rep picked up today. He acknowledged up front that services are running many weeks late. I asked why- if they are well aware of this do people have to call to get a credit. They should be automatically applying credits. The man was rude, only willing to credit my account $9 and stated I must call after every missed service to get a credit- they have been late all over southeast ******** while being sold. After I stated that calling every week and being on hold for absurdly long wait times wasn't reasonable as GFL is hoping people won't bother. He then cut me off.mid sentence and hung up on me. Horrible company. They also repeatedly dumped all my recycling(which I pay a separate fee for) right into the same truck ad the garbage- and no it wasn't one of the dual garbage/recycling trucks that they tried to claim when I called.Business Response

You have to pay 3 months at a time in advance and Ive only been with them for 3 months so far and they have failed to pick up my trash twice. *** called and they will not let me speak with a supervisor. They keep telling me they will send someone out by end of day. I have my trash out the day before every week the trash service just will not come down my street.Business Response

Have been paying for service on quarterly basis. They missed the last two pickups. I called and spoke to customer service who said they would write a ticket. No one in my subdivision that uses GFL has had trash removal. The accumulating trash is becoming a health concern. I want my trash removed along with the bins I have been renting from GFL. I have requested my service to be discontinued but only after they remove the trash and their maggot containing binsBusiness Response

On Tuesday 4/30/24 I called GFL and scheduled a disposal pick up of a living room chair. I was given instructions on where to place the chair, and was told that it would be removed by 6pm on Monday 5/6/24- as large item disposal pick *** were only done on Mondays. The chair was placed in the instructed area on the evening of 5/5 for the scheduled pick up on 5/6. By 4:45pm on 5/6 the chair still had not been picked up. I called GFL to ask why the chair had not picked up, and I was informed that for unspecified reasons the driver had not completed that day's route. I had received no communication of this. I was guaranteed that the chair would be picked up the following Monday, 5/13, and that it would be one of the first pick *** of the day as it should have already been completed and was now late. Today, 5/13, the chair had still not been picked up by 4 PM, and I called GFL. The representative did not know why the chair had not picked up, but assured me that she would contact her route manager and call me back to ensure the chair was picked up by 6pm today. I informed her that at this point the chair had been sitting there for 2 weeks and I was receiving unhappy messages from my landlord about an old chair sitting in the yard. It is now midnight and I did not receive a call back, and the chair has still not been picked up.Business Response

This company needs to be shut down. They dont care about anything. They leave trash that falls out of the bin in the yard . They take more than 3 weeks to come pick up the trash in the first place . Theyre a bunch of lazy people who should be fired. Why are there so many complaints about these people but you allow them to stay in business ??? I called because I paid my account not going to mentionthe issues I had doing that. So called to have them send someone back out they said payment does not reflect for ***** hours so they did not pick up my trash on trash day. I stayed the bill was paid and I have a confirmation number. They changed me to paperless without my knowledge then stared they would charge me a fee to send the bill. If I leave my trash it I will be fined but there is no where to put the trash.I'm usually not one to complain however no resolution was even attempt they just stood on "policy" even they admitted there were other times they had not fulfilled services from their end. This company has misses trash pick up serveral times and will not come back out to pick it up even when they say they will. Most recently in August.Business Response

After reviewing the account, it appears that it was suspended on 5/20/24, due to the 3/15/24 and 4/15/24, invoices going unpaid. At this point the 5/15/24 invoice is also due, which leaves a total amount due of $277.00. We did send an overdue letter via email on 4/26/2024 to ********************* and a printed past due notice was sent on 5/2/24.There does appear to be a pending payment dated 6/2/24 that has not been processed yet.
Today was their service day, however, the driver would not have known about the pending payment and therefore would not have serviced the customer. Typically, if payment has not posted before service day, we would not service until their next service day.

On April 11th, I switched to another trash provider. On Aprill 22nd at 2:35pm I called and cancelled my service with *** account number *********. I was told my service would end on 05/01 and it would be up to 7 days for the bin to be collected. On *** 13th, I had to call again since the bin was not picked up. I was told they see the order and would be picked up by end of the week. On *** 27th I did a complaint on their website ticket number ******* since the bin still wasn't collected. The very next day I got something from a debt collector called TSI saying I owed *** for service between *** to August 2024. I immediately called *** and spoke with *****. She said the order is in the system, I have no balance with *** and she doesn't know why I got a notice from a debt collector. At this point I had checked the *** site and it said I did have a balance for *** to Aug (*** charges in 3 month increments in advance). Stated the website should update by end of the month. She also stated would send me an email to confirm the account was closed but they won't send emails that say no balance is due. No email of any type has been sent and I still have a notice from a collection agency and their website saying I owe them money. I need this fixed immediately and at this point since I cannot trust the companies word, I would like something in writing that the account is closed and no balance is due.Business Response

I provided notice to GFL Environmental on 4/17/2024 that their trash receptacle needs to be removed from my home. I informed GFL that Im using All Star Trash Services headquartered in ******, **. I was informed by GFL to put their trash receptacle by the road, and it would be picked up the following Friday. For six weeks, the trash receptacle was not picked up. I contacted GFL again on May 29, and was informed by GFL that they use a third party to collect trash receptacles, and they dont know when it will be picked up. GFL is a Canadian based large business with over ***** employees, its not reasonable to require citizens to keep their trash receptacle by the road indefinitely as it poses an obstacle to the US *************** I own the home at **************************, I have never used GFL at this address. It was my tenant who used GFL, but he vacated on April 1, 2024.Business Response

Have been GFL customers for 4 years. Signed up with trash & recycle on a weekly basis. Recycle services were dropped to bi weekly. Costs have gone up significantly and quality of service has diminished greatly. On top of that, I have to call in on a semi regular basis to have my trash or recycling picked up. It is at the curb the evening before so that it is always out there when they do their runs. There has been no offers of credits for missed services, and the service quality has not gone up after numerous complaints. At this time, I would like to cancel my services effective immediately as well cans picked up. I have tried on multiple occasions to call in to cancel, but no one answers the phones. I have waited on hold for over an hour at a time and have requested call backs with no calls returned.Business Response

GFL WAS SELECTED FOR OUR TOWNSHIPS TRASH SERVICE. I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CONTAINER AND THE ***** DRIVES PAST MY HOUSE WITHOUT STOPPING. WE HAVE BEARS TRYING TO GET ACESS TO MY GARBAGE BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR SO LONG. WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT PROVIDING A CUSTOMER A TRASH CAN. Yes I have a can no thanks to you. I had to make a 2 1/2 hour round trip drive to ******** MI to pick up a can because your lazy incompetent employees were too dysfunctional to deliver one for me. I also picked up one for my neighbor who was also trying in vain to get a can delivered for several weeks.
