We signed up with GFL Environmental for residential trash service, but after the first two weeks of us living in our home, they quit showing up to pick up our trash. We canceled our service. They told us to leave our trash carts outside for them to retrieve. After multiple calls/emails over a seven week period, they did not retrieve the carts. They no longer respond to emails. When *** called, Ive been told they have limited resources and cant tell me when theyll pick up the carts. They told me to just leave the carts outside in view for their pick up but they have no scheduled timeframe. I left the carts outside for two weeks and they didnt pick them up. We have *** restrictions against leaving trash containers in view of street. When I emailed GFL to notify them about *** restrictions and that *** sent a notification thats its a violation to leave containers out in view, GFL made me provide evidence of my *** restrictions - which I provided a copy of the *** document and the notification my *** sent out. They then gave me a date of pickup but they didnt show up. I informed them of the fact that they didnt pick them up, and they provided me another date. Again, they did not show up. I emailed to let them know and asked for manager or business owner assistance. They have not responded to my email. I want to ensure they retrieve the containers (I dont want to keep them indefinitely as they take up a lot of space in our garage), I want to ensure I dont get charged for the containers, and I want to ensure I dont incur fines/infractions from my ***. If I do incur fines or have *** issues, I want GFL to be held responsible. I also want this issue documented in the event GFL charges me for the carts or service that they havent provided since the last time they picked up our trash (April 8).Business Response

Im only 2 weeks in on a 6 month contract. First week, no service. I called they sent someone 2 days after the scheduled pickup day. Second week, no service. I called and explain they emptied a competitor can over 7 feet from their actual can. No Im waiting god knows how long (agent said Id get a call whenever they got an update, even though I asked for an ETA of return call) all while my trash is still sitting at the curve. I dont need friends so not looking to chat with your reps weekly about my service. Ive uploaded pics from my ring camera from 6/12 (scheduled date of service), 6/13, and 6/14. You can see the can is not obstructed in any way. I have lost confidence in GFLs ability to execute the agreed upon terms of our contract. I want to cancel and receive a prorated refund without having to dispute for failure to honor contract.Business Response

This waste management company refuse to pick up my trash going on 3weeks now. I called because they did not pick up the 1st week. She said that it was a suspension at the time because of payment not received. I paid the amount . Billing cycle every 3 months. I understood that and also voiced my concerns that I had a party that week and extra trash. She stated she could put in an order to pick 5 extra kitchen size bags ant curbside and also told me I would have to wait until next Wednesday for trash pick up. I agreed. Next pickup, Trash still not picked up. Called again was told another lie stating it was over 13 bags. I had previously told them I had a bday party the week prior. So the company was aware of that. I knew they were not going to take all those bags, but I expected them to pick up the garbage can ant least and they didnt. Now Im two weeks without pickup. I had to pay someone else to have that hauled away. this week, still no pick up. I called today Thursday and spoke with ******* and another later who claimed they didnt pick up yesterday because it was over 13 bags. Which was a lie and because I had them removed. She was using a picture from 2 weeks ago and I had already informed them of that. I asked her why didnt yall just empty the garbage can, she claim it was wood etc sticking out with boxes, more lies!!! They asked me to email with pictures. I did. They call me back with another excuse telling me that my curbside bags were not Kitchen size and said the lid was not closed. This is ridiculous you are a garbage company you are to pick up garbage. I didnt know my garbage had to be pretty to pick up by you. As long as my items are in a garbage bag it should be picked up especially in a garbage can you provided. This company has a low satisfaction rate and a lot of complaints with the same problems. They pick up late and when they want to. Week 4 and trash still out there. Gfl garbage service has not provided service to our neighborhood since may 28th. They blamed it on a switch of days so we waited and called the next business day after still not being picked up. We have called every day with the same excuse saying we will pick it up tomorrow. We have been throught 2 weeks of tomorrow's. They also continue to say operations will call you back and they never have but are also refusing to compensate use for them giving us no service. Again garbage is still siting out since may 28th in the whole neighborhood with nothing Getting resolved.Business Response

We were using GFL as our trash pick up provider. The service progressively got worse about picking up the trash. We called and canceled our service May 14. We have requested they pick up the garbage container from our front yard several times and issue a refund on the next quarter that we had just paid. $ *****. We have made phone calls and went by the office. Each time they provide a date for pick up. The last call we were giving a date for pick up May 11 and were told a check was issued. Neighbors are complaining because this can remains beside the road.Business Response

Purchased a new home and registered services 4/26/24. Initially told cart delivery for trash and recycling could take up to 2-3 weeks and that the trash would still be collected at the curb regardless. After a month of no cart delivery, the first phone call was made to inquire about the cart delivery. ******** support told me that the route supervisor would have carts delivered the next day. Filed a complaint through GFL with my problem not being resolved over a month. A response she was received saying I am reaching out to our cart delivery team for an update and will follow up with you when I have more information. I do not have an exact date of delivery to provide currently. A call was placed a day after Memorial Day and eventually returned by GFL in regards to services not rendered and carts not delivered well over a month after occupancy. ******** service agent states she is having her bosses and managers take a look into the issue, and bypassing cart delivery department. It is now two weeks since that call and still no carts delivered and trash still not being collected. I am forced to drive to familys home 20min away multiple times a week to have trash removed from my garage. This has created unsanitary conditions in my new home and a prime example of poor business practices. I am satisfied with the assistance by the agent during the second phone call on 5/28/24, but other than that, I am disgusted.Business Response

GFL Environmental bought out our local trash company in early 2022. After months of double billing and empty promises, I terminated services with them on 6-8-2022. They removed their dumpster from my property, that same day. At that time, my account had a ****** credit. Two years later, they have provided no services and have done nothing about refunding said credit. Today (6-8-2024), I received an invoice showing that ****** has been used up, and I owe 2.38.Over the two years, I have sent three requests for a refund. This new invoice looks like each time I request the refund, they billed me for one months of service. Talking to their employees is like talking to a wall. I am rejecting this response because: GFL stated the customer has been advised that an error was made and has been corrected. I agree that a credit has been posted to my account, but, I am only aware of that fact because I logged into my online account, and saw the credit. However, said credit is not exactly accurate and no one from GFL has spoken or emailed me regarding the posting of this credit. We're basically at the same point as we were two years ago, when they said I would have a refund check in 2 -3 three weeks.Sincerely,

I canceled my trash pickup on 03/01/24 ,requested a refund for the amount of $175 that I had just paid on the 02/26/24 plus the deposit of $60. Have contacted them 3 times and keep telling me that the refund is coming but I have not received it yet! Called again last week and they said the check was mailed on 05/20 but still no check! GFL is the worse service provider and many other residents in this area using this service due to monopoly in this sector, even though I selected any other local business eventually that will end with GFL. Complain to the local office is useless, their responses are scripted, and their response is their work on based on calendar and schedule. I called the last 5 days and response is same and reschedule to next day and ended with I am not having way to place my daily trash thank to this arrogant business. Need immediate attention from the *************************** if he cares about his customers and investigate local office on their local operation and management.Business Response

The garbage truck left my garbage bags on the lawn and the garbage can in the street. I have a video of it all. This is not the first time I have received **** poor service yet Im paying every morning for garbage pick up. Called GFL and spoke with someone named ****** who was not very helpful at all. She sound annoyed that I was complaining and then said she was going to transfer me to someone named ****** after I asked to speak with a manager. This ****** she transferred me to didnt pick up or have a voice mail therefore nothing was resolved. This garbage company has left my garbage cans broken, dented my mailbox and left trash in my driveway. I AM LIVID!!!!!!Business Response
