      Being charged for services when I wasnt even at the home. Since I prepaid I was under the assumption they would just cancel service. Now Im being charged for services I didnt even use. I reached out and sat on hold for a half hour and was advised if there were issues I would receive an email. Never received an email but am now receiving collection notices.

      Located on Vancouver Island, ****************, ******.We are a non-profit organization and arranged to rent a portable toilet from the beginning of April until the middle of October 2023 with weekly servicing. Twice our weekly service (pump out and cleaning) was skipped/missed and when I called I was told 1) that yes it was missed and that they would send someone out to clean it 2) no reason given and that they would send someone to clean it, the driver showed up however he felt that the toilet was not dirty enough so didn't clean it.... ********** I was told we would be given a complimentary servicing however when I called to have the bill adjusted to reflect the complimentary servicing I was told that the now show servicing was the complimentary cleaning. At the end of our scheduled booking (October 12, 2023) GFL had overcharged us and I was told that they would issue a refund.November 10th, 2023 I followed up regarding our refund and was told they would start the process to issue a refund...I had requested a refund when I spoke to them on October 12th.December 4th, 2023 I followed up again and was told that it would take 8 to 10 weeks from November 10th.February 6, 2024 I followed up again......I was told that they would escalate the process March 11, 2024 I followed up yet again and was told it that it was being escalated yet AGAIN....March 26th, 2024 followed up again.....I was told it had been processed and I should have it within the week (or two).April 22nd, 2024 NO REFUND has been received and I have followed up yet again. Won't hold my breath........DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE ANOTHER OPTION ....terrible customer service!

      GFL was great until they switched us to Fridays. At best they pick up either trash or recycling, rarely both. They raised there prices and severely lowered their service. I am canceling and hoping to get a refund on the last 2 months. If you can get someone on the phone they say they will remedy this problem, dont believe them.if anything its worse.

      Be sure to read the fine print if you are signing a contract with GFL. It is a 36 month contract and auto renews after the 36 month period. If you haven't cancelled the service 90 days prior to the renewal date you will be billed for the following 36 months. We had phoned to cancel the service as their prices continue to go up exponentially and we found a much cheaper Waste service company. GFL is now telling us we owe $3700 because we were one month passed their auto renew date. This surely can't be legal.

      GFL bought out a trash company we had been using for years and their service was absolutely horrible. They were unreliable and kept raising their prices without notice. Good luck trying to talk to anyone as well. When we cancelled service they then charged a $225 fee to pick up their container and wouldnt give us an address so we could return it ourselves and not have to pay the outrageous fee! I absolutely do not recommend them.

      After being a customer of GFL, I called to discontinue service after selling my home. An auto payment was taken from my bank account on 4/1 and service was discontinued in 4/11. This unethical company would not refund any of the nearly $100 payment made on 4/1. I was told that it is company policy, which I feel is another way of saying this company is fine with stealing money from its customers. Save your self money and never use GFL, they are thieves.

      I am so utterly sick of GFL. Every other week my trash doesnt get picked up. I am going on week 2 without my trash being picked up. It is so piled up that if i wait another week, my can is going to overflow and then they definitely wont pick up the trash. I am paying ****** every 3 months which started out at ***** every 3 months for a company that doesnt even pick up my **** trash. When i call they tell me that we have ti wait until the next week. I will definitely be canceling this service. I al so sick of them.

      There is a huge problem with GFL dumping our bins (13) total! There was a black guy driving and he went to a court that was "known" for extra activities and stayed for a good 30 minutes blowing his horn and hollering at these "extra active females". He even took the time to stop and talk with one and when he was done, he left the property. My co-worker flagged him down speeding out of the property and questioned the dumping of the other 12 bins. His reply was just plain dumb.... "I'll be back around, Imma go get one on the other side." WHY! WHEN YOU JUST RODE PASS 7 FREAKING BINS!! He never came back that DAY. As of March 18, 2024, the guy came out late as usual and dumped 1 bin, left and that was the end of him. Today is March 28, 2024, and they have yet to come back out and dump ********. Residents have been complaining and trash is everywhere all because they haven't dumped the bins in 2 weeks! The owners of the property have come out multiple times since and questioned our staff. Luckily, we were able to show him that GFL has not been here since 2 wks. ago to pick up trash and we have nowhere else to dump. The groundskeeper is left to just walk pass it all! Now we can't even give the groundskeeper his hours because he has nowhere to dump the trash unless he ********** it back on the ground! My supervisor called the office on March 27, 2024, in the morning and left a message for their supervisor who has not yet returned any of his calls. Whoever the rep was that he spoke to that afternoon was very rude and disrespectful (older white man). He tried to tell us that his guys have been out here daily picking and dumping the trash. This is the poorest excuse of an "environmental waste management " company I've ever seen. Not to mention that they are helping the attraction of rodents, pests, cats and other unwanted house guests in each unit and section of this property. If the owner wanted to own a landfill of garbage, HE COULDVE BROUGHT MT. TRASHMMORE 0 stars!!

      GFL trash service is inconsistent and unreliable. Since last year September/October, we have had at least 10 weeks of missed service. I called today because we have not had a pickup for two consecutive weeks. As a matter of fact, the other houses on this ******** road have also not received a pickup. The agent implied that only our house was missed and that he would give me a $6 credit and schedule an immediate go back within ***** hours. Not acceptable because we live on a hill and the is very busy, with 18wheeler traffic, so we cant leave plastic bags out there. If they dont come today then we have to haul the bags bag down the hill and backup on tomorrow. Im looking for another provider. And to think, this company is endorsed by our city and county to represent. I wish I could go back to *********************. Had them for 17 years and they missed us oncebut came back to our street the same day.

      Began quarterly subscription with GFL in June of 2023. In Sep 23 our trash was not serviced one week. We reported *** **** was credited to our account. Second AND third week, still not serviced. Reported again, was not credited due to not reporting the second week even though they confirmed it was not serviced 3 weeks in a row. Asked for reasons why trash wasnt serviced & no answer could be given, but response was they would look into it & follow up. WAS NEVER CALLED BACK. Finally serviced last week of September. Following rest of quarter (Sep-Nov) trash was not serviced about 2 weeks out of each month. Called each following Monday to report. Every interaction was the same: reported, was asked a series of questions to see if we did our part. Answer was always YES. Reason was never given as to why we were skipped, but offered to look into it & call back with an update. No offer to credit or courtesy pickup. AGAIN THEY NEVER CALLED- I would always have to call back days later.Finally in last quarter (Dec-Feb) there were 3 weeks in Jan overlapping Feb our trash was not serviced. I reported it every *********** given a reason, nor offered credit. Second week I was actually told the reason was because our bin was not out when I literally watched the truck pass our bin. No solution was given, I was only told Well, pickup is Friday so hopefully theyll pick it up then. Third Friday comes, & my husband takes a video of the truck passing our bin. Call to report. They told me to send the video to their support email which I did- NO RESPONSE. I call to schedule a courtesy pickup since it was never offered in the 3 weeks our trash was not serviced & when the courtesy pickup was scheduled, they did not come. I called to report & cancel services altogether. It has now been 5 weeks since we cancelled our account & they have yet to collect our bins even though it takes 1-2 weeks. Wont let us talk to their supervisor. This business is actual trash & a waste of money!!!!!
