1 starCedar Management Group they are trying to collect $3,100 in fines for having a bit of dirt on exterior of my home and "faded paint on shutter", which they were fine. I never received a single notify by mail until fee days before the violation time started. I was charge a $100.00 a day. Just insane. I have been leaving in that neighborhood for more that 11 years and I never experience this type of insanity. We are hard working people, low medium class we don't have $3,100.00 to just give to a HOA.Cedar Management Group

Irelia,Please be advised that Cedar Management Group (Cedar) is a vendor that works on behalf of and for ********* (the Association) and has no decision making authority when it comes to the sending of any violation letters or the assessment of any fines or fees to your homeowner ledger. There were multiple notices sent via mail and via email from the Association regarding the violations found to be present at your property. A hearing was held and a portion of the assessed fines were removed as a courtesy from the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has denied your additional fine waiver requests and any further communication regarding this matter should be directed to your Board via your homeowner portal.Review fromJames J

1 starThey Harass you by sending out false violation notices to you. Ex: tuesday is trash day so my pail is pot out overnight, i'm a 1st responder work 6a-6p. That tuesday i got home at 8:30 pm, 4 days later a violation letter comes in mail stating inproper storage of trash container. I can go on and on about false violations to my neighbors but my hand is tired from typing this. We live in *********************** **********************Cedar Management Group

1 starI have been in my neighborhood for 23 years. I think HOA may have been a good idea and one point, having a shared pool and play area, etc. People share the cost but now they are out of hand. Below is the BBB on my neighborhood management company. one star. I was late on my bill and they sent it to a law firm for collection. ( *********** and Love PLLC) I called them 2 times to pay but no answer and no call back. When I finally received a called back it was outside the 15 day limit which caused legal fees to be applied. The fees on $127 bill were $450. I contacted a lawyer he basically said its cheaper to just pay. I tried to speak with someone at the law firm about the non returned calls made and they basically wouldn't let me finish a sentence. Below is my management company. One star on BBB.so very frustrating. what a rip off.Cedar Management Group

*******,Please be advised that Cedar Management Group is a vendor that works for and on behalf of your Association, **********, and has no decision making authority when it comes to creating or enforcing an Associations collections policy. The collections policy for your Association is outlined in the governing documents, which are legally binding, available on your homeowner portal. The April ********** of $140.00 was due in full by 04/30/24. Since the payment was not received in full by the deadline the collections policy was followed and a 15 Day Demand Letter was sent on 5/17/24 in addition to prior past due statements sent via mail and email.Weve reviewed our phone records and found the calls from 6/17, 7/18, 7/24, and 8/01 but have no record of any calls before those dates after the 15 Day Demand Letter was sent. The Demand Letter also details how to make a payment in multiple ways including credit/debit card, echeck, bill payment, in person, or physical check. Since the outstanding balance was not paid in full within the 15 day deadline your account was sent to the Attorney and all legal fees stand.Review fromTammy C

1 starThis management group visits community once a month they assured me and do nothing to impose fines or implement rules for community covenants. They have LANDMARK landscaping for our community and what you can surely count on is for them to blow mowed grass and debris back up to the front of your house and garage.for debris blown back up to door and garage- this includes what was on the street. When sent concerns about, and proof with video of this happening, was told they dont do that by ******** manager over our community. Both businesses HORRIBLE. Had to end up changing only checking account number Ive ever had and deal with 6 months of nonsense and documentation with Cedar Managemebt who stated they didnt sign for a check written to them. This check was written to compensate for an increase in dues we were never informed about until a community meeting. Since I pay 6 months at a time, had to write additional check. The check for my original 6 months went through. I wrote the second check less than a week later, sent to same address and Cedar kept telling me only through emails they never received. Even after filing a check fraud claim at bank, took them over 2 months to go in and sign that they never received. They will never call you back again everything is communicated by email and comes weeks after concern posted on portal. When talked to landscaper about concerns and had sent concerns via portal- LANDMARK manager told me that Cedar told him to ignore me. My concerns were over a diseased tree reported last year and the fact they blow debris up to doors and garages. Had to buy a sign for them to stop cutting grass decided to do myself since same LANDMARK manager told me to do since they could only weedeat my yard which was always uneven. avoid the clean up after they visit. When did myself, they still blew debris from other yards up to my sore and garage. Provided pictures of to prove 4 weeks later no response.Cedar Management Group

****,Please be advised that Cedar Management Group is a vendor that works on behalf of your Association and has no decision making authority when it comes to hiring vendors or assessing/removing fines or fees on your account. The ***** of ********* is wholly responsible for enforcing the governing documents and hiring vendors for the Community. Regarding the $60.00 check Cedar had requested depositing information as we did not have a record of receiving your payment, which you refused to provide so we were unable to assist you further with that request. The ***** then approved a $60.00 credit as a courtesy. Per the governing documents, all owners in the Association were provided documentation regarding the dues increase. The ***** has been in contact with you directly regarding how to communicate concerns properly to the ***** and advising of updates regarding the landscaper. All future communications will need to be relayed directly to your ***** via your homeowner portal as Cedar is unable to approve of any changes in vendors for the Association.Review fromEvonne G

1 starI would give them a negative 1 if you had that option. They require homeowners to pay a $400 fee ( least mine was) when you sell your house for account transfer, documentation fee and certification. Sorry but thats ********. They write up violations for some things neighbors do t even have. They are ripping people off! Oh gave me two days to pay it so I cant write a check but have to pay processing fee to use my card! They are not active in community and dont do enough to warrant what they get paid by many HOA.Cedar Management Group

******,As lenders have been more stringent in their underwriting procedures, their underwriting guidelines require that HOAs disclose information about not only the property, but the entire standing of the **** This could include the financial standing, legal disclosures, current foreclosures, current loans the association may have, and any further information as needed. At the time of closing there is a one-time certification fee of $200 due from the seller. Also, there is a one-time ********************* fee of $200 due from the buyer. The Certification Fee is an administrative fee that covers the cost of certifying the dues, verifying the capital contribution, and advising of any outstanding balances or fees associated with the property. Also requested is a copy of the recorded deed as well as a completed contact sheet completed with the buyers information. The Documentation and Set-Up fee is an administrative fee that covers administrative expenses involved with inputting the new owner's information in our system and incorporating them into the HOA's records.Cedar Management Group is a vendor that works for your Association and has no decision making authority when it comes to citing or sending violations, these decisions are made solely by the ***** of ********* within your Association. The processing fee you mentioned is also not a Cedar charge, but one charged by ************* that Cedar has no authority to waive or adjust.Review fromLORI C

1 starThis is a follow-up to Cedar Management's response to my review on 7/7/2023. When you say that my multiple emails to your staff were all "responded to within 48 hours or receipt," you are misrepresenting yourself. Automated emails stating that someone will be contacting me soon does not equate to receiving a phone call or email from the Area Manager or Director - neither of whom ever reached out to me per my request. And the only reason my calls and emails were escalated was due to the lack of response. Let's be clear and transparent here. The only person who did reach out to me was the HOA's attorney.Cedar Management Group

****,As previously stated, all correspondence through our support staff was handled within 48 hours per company policy, and none of the responses were automated, they were simply similar. All of your messages were regarding board member concerns, which our support staff would not have been able to provide information on, therefore all of your messages had to be forwarded to the appropriate parties to be reviewed, and support conveyed that back to you accordingly with each new message you sent in. The community manager has confirmed that she was unable to speak with you when requested as you had threatened legal action, and our company policy is to cease communication from that point forward. From there, the Board determined that it would be best for communication to come directly through the HOAs attorney, who did contact you regarding your concerns, as you stated in your recent message.Review fromCarissa S

1 starDo not do business with this company. You cannot talk to anyone that is knowledgeable about your issues. They say that the community manager will call you back, but they don't. Every time you call and ask for the community manager, they say that they are in a meeting. The only thing they do is give you the run around.Cedar Management Group

1 starMonies taken that are unaccounted for at my closing..I sold for many reasons but one was to get away from these thieves. They do not respond to you and they pass the buck at every turn. *****,Please be advised that we received the closing documentation with the full HUD, which is needed to process the refund, on 2/26/24. The closing funds were processed and the unit sale completed. Your refund check is in the mail being sent to your confirmed mailing address. It typically takes 4-6 weeks to receive closing documents and funds for a unit sale. We have to have these in our possession, along with the full HUD, to process any after sale refunds.Review fromfred c

1 starThis company was in charge of the building that I currently work in. We had a leak in the elevator, and after MONTHS AND MONTHS of going back and forth, I finally had to step in and get the ball rolling with the insurance company and the elevator repair company. Once I did, the elevator was fixed within 1.5 weeks. They obviously got fired for lack of due diligence for that among other projects. They closed the bank account that we were depositing into and cut us 2 different Cashiers checks, but only sent us the smaller of the two. . Once pressed about it, they said to send them a label and they will send the check... Send THEM a label, so they can send OUR money to US. Obviously no was the answer, so they said we could pick it up. Kind of a drive, but fine. I asked when I could come. The lady said she will check and see when I could pick the rest of the money up at the front desk and call me back... 2 days later, CRICKETS. Since then, the owners association found out that the *** was not properly filed for years, so no new bank account could be opened. Meanwhile I found out that Cedar management received WRITTEN notification on December 18th from the ***** that our *** was going to be suspended and DID NOTHING and told NO ONE. That's a blatant dereliction of their fiscal duties to their client. The manager at the office was the last straw. She tried to tell me that the Agent at the ***** with NO DOG in the fight was wrong and she was right. AND she was rude!!!This company is the worst.Cedar Management Group

****, Please be advised that Cedar Management Group is a vendor that works for your owners association, and has no decision making authority. Cedars goal is the total satisfaction of our communities, and to provide positive (and professional) service! Please email ************** Please be advised that per the termination notice the working relationship ended amicably between ************** and Cedar Management. After the bank accounts closed, Cedar had no way to bill for a shipping label with tracking so a label from the *** was requested, which is a standard industry practice. We also provided the option for this to be picked up in the office. The closing financial reports and final funds are generally ready between the 15th-20th of the following month. ******************, at the *** office, the *** was suspended due to 2017-2018 taxes but the **** shows that they were submitted by Cedar for processing. The tax years 2021 and 2022, reflect lingering penalties, late fees and interest. Cedar never received an invoice regarding a reinstatement fee from ****** and the suspension notice was not received until December 2023. Per the management contract, Cedar Management Group is only responsible to register as *** which was done properly.Review fromDanny S
