On December 13th I went in for an oil change with Take 5. After I received the oil change I started noticing oil puddles in my new driveway. I had to end up bringing my car into autonation chevrolet to see what was wrong and turns out when they were doing my oil change at Take 5 they stripped the oil drain plug causing my car to leak oil everywhere. I ended up having to pay for a diagnostic check as well as another oil change because of course all the oil was draining and hours in a shop trying to confirm if it was the oil pan itself that was leaking or the plug that was stripped as well as paying for the repairs. My claim was filed with Take 5 on 12/21/24 as I was waiting in the dealership for them to repair the damage. I have called over 5 times to check on my claim that I was told i should have a response in a few days. *** supplied all supported documents, pictures, receipts etc. Nobody will respond to me, nobody calls or emails you back and they caused the damage to the vehicle. Two emails have been sent to their claims department and I was told to follow up 48 hours. each time an email was sent and still no update each time. I was told there is no phone number to the claims team to speak with someone directly, that they dont reply back to their staff who send the emails, and when asking to speak with the manager they are not available to speak to me. I spoke with ******* ******* and his manager was not able to speak with me. I asked him to have her give me a call back at which point he said he will try. No one will acknowledge my claim. I am seeking reimbursement for my repairs and oil change I had to get along with take 5s oil change. I also needed to purchase addition cleaning supplies to scrub oil out of my driveway which was unsuccessful. This was a brand new paved driveway. I paid approx 75 dollars for the take 5 oil change and another 155 in repairs. As well as another 40 for cleaning supplies for driveway.***************************************Business Response

01/20/2025.11330 ***********************************************I went for simply an oil change and after about 1 hours waiting in line and 30 minutes of service my expected $59 charge was $300. I was not made aware of the charges of the services performed, as I was not made aware the services performed were even a charge. I had known take 5 as a reliable place but I was taken advantage because I am a woman and I am not aware to what happens behind the hood I cannot see past. I am not inclined in the knowledge of knowing whats being shoved in my face is something theyre about to do. Unfortunately, I was not taught to change oil or other car maintenances, so when it comes to shops I dont know what I am being charged past a simple oil change. I was also told that an automatic coupon would be added to my total at the end of my service and it was not. In resolution of this issue I would like my total refunded, as not even the correct oil was put into my car. My car takes 0-16w and 0-20w was put in. Ive never used 0-20w and I was not made aware thats what was being put into my car. When opening the hood of my car it has an obvious sticker that says what kind of oil goes in. I would like to be charged what the oil change wouldve costed with the coupon, which was $59. Due to the services today and being taken advantage of I will not be returning to Take 5 as a result. I know its not a huge loss to a huge company, but taking advantage of women should not be a thing in oil shops just to make commission.Business Response

Good afternoon,
I want to start off by apologizing for your recent experience with Take5 and the delayed response to the email. The experience you had is not what we want to exemplify as a company. Customer Answer
Date: 01/21/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
I do not feel satisfied with this answer. I feel as if I was severely taken advantage of and I would like to know what can be done to resolve this issue. Ive given an answer to what I feel is a resolution, which is the correct charge of the oil change after the coupon I was quoted $59. I understand answers take time but I feel as if this is a widespread issue not just with your company but with many other automobile shops taking advantage of women because we are not taught what happens under the hood. Along with this issue, after further evaluation of the receipt, incorrect oil was put into my vehicle. The oil used was 5w-20. My car, a 2020 ****** camry SE, takes 0w-16. When opening the hood theres a very obvious sticker that says what oils goes in. I understand that its acceptable to use 5w-20 in my vehicle, but Ive never put this oil in my car and I do not feel comfortable with that. Another thing, it is not considered consent to a service when a technician sees something about a car is wrong (dirty cabin air filter and diluted coolant) by shoving the issue in my face and expecting an okay. That is not a yes please fix that or a oh I see, yes please continue. Consent is the word yes and I did not consent to these services. Therefore, until what I believe is a resolution to this issue is completed I will continue to speak about my experience and wait until correct action is made to prevent this from happening to anyone ever again.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I saw this email and responded with my address, hoping that this issue would be taken care of and we can go separate ways. After sending my mailing address I was told that the district manager was rejecting my claim because I was told prior to my appointment the price of all services and was okay with them. Unfortunately she was not there.
If I was told the price and gave an okay with these services then there wouldnt be a complaint in the first place. Im seeing that is being overlooked.

Good morning,
The pricing you were given over the phone before the appointment was for the oil change only. Not for the additional services that were performed on your vehicle. The case has been reviewed by the District Manager and the shop manager who stated that the price of the services were discussed prior to doing and the total amount was communicated to make sure it was ok.
Thank you,

On November 28, 2024 I spent $106.36 on an oil change and air filter at Take 5 on **************. After receiving this oil change, the oil light was reset to reflect the recent oil change. After driving for a few days, I noticed that my engine oil was reading lower than usual. On December 20, 2024 all of the oil and coolant had completely leaked from the bottom of my vehicle. Due to the holidays, I was unable to get my car into a shop until January 6, 2025. From there, I was told that my oil filter coolant housing was leaking and was referred to a different mechanic as that shop was unable to do the repair. On January 13, I was able to have my vehicle towed to another mechanic and was quoted over $400 for the repair. As of today, January 18, 2025 I am still waiting on my vehicle to be repaired. When doing my research and after speaking with the mechanic, we were able to determine that the leak was caused by an oil filter that was installed incorrectly. During said research, I was made aware of the various complaints against Take 5 as the company has made a practice of hiring individuals with little to no actual car maintenance experience. This incident has cost me nearly $1000 ($420 in car repairs, roughly $500 in lyft costs, bus passes, grocery deliveries, and meal deliveries).Business Response

On Friday, January 17th, at approximately 4:30 PM, I brought my *** in for an oil change. This was my second visit to this location; my first visit about a year ago was quick and efficient. This time, I opted for a full synthetic oil change (around $99). While checking in, the attendant recommended I consider purchasing new windshield wipers since they were on a "Buy One, Get One Free" (****) promotion. She informed me that the price per wiper was approximately $27, and after confirming that I would receive one wiper free, I decided to add them to my service. When it came time to pay, the attendant initially quoted me over $200, then corrected herself, stating my total was actually $179.30. Upon reviewing my receipt, I noticed I was not given the **** deal on the windshield wipers and had been charged $27.99 twice. I brought this to the manager, ********, who confirmed that the **** discount had not been applied. When I requested a refund for the overcharge, ******** informed me that the "refund system was down" and that he would need to contact someone to address the issue within 35 business days. This situation is extremely unprofessional, and I am requesting a refund of $27.99 as soon as possible.Location of the incident:Take 5 Oil Change (#****)************************************Business Response

On October 14, 2024, I had an oil change performed at Take 5 Oil Change (see attachment "take_5_receipt_1.jpg"). However, the technicians failed to drain the old oil and instead added new oil directly into my vehicle, resulting in the engine being overfilled with twice the proper amount of oil. Shortly after leaving the store, the engine failed. I requested a paper proof of the issue from Take 5 Oil Change (see attachment "take_5_receipt_2.jpg").Take 5 Oil Change subsequently arranged for my car to be towed to a ***** dealership for an inspection. The dealership confirmed that the engine failure was caused by the overfilled oil. The ***** dealer performed another oil change, which appeared to resolve the issue temporarily (see attachment "inspection_result.jpg"). However, after driving just a few miles, the exhaust began emitting white smoke. When I returned to the ***** dealer, they informed me that diagnosing the engine issue would require a teardown inspection. I was provided with a cost estimate for this inspection (see attachment "quote.jpg").Following this serious incident, my case was referred to Take 5 Oil Change's claims department. Despite providing all the relevant documents, including receipts and inspection reports, the claims department denied any wrongdoing and refused to cover any of my losses, including the cost of their oil change and the services performed by the ***** dealer. They also delayed resolving the issue, leaving me without a functioning vehicle.Ultimately, I was forced to sell my car at a significantly reduced price due to the damage caused. This incident has resulted in substantial financial loss for me.Business Response
