I am not satisfied with their services. I have filed complaints with them regarding work on my car. Every time I get a response they say that the repairs are not covered. The commercials are misleading. I want a refund of all the money I have paid into this company.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

As noted on the first three pages of your vehicle service contract, American Auto Shield (AAS) is the administrator of your vehicle service contract and has FULL authority over repair procedures, approvals, denials and payments.  We have contacted them to obtain information on the repair claim you have referenced. Your claim was reviewed by the Legal Claims Director for AAS, an ASE-Certified Master Mechanic, who determined the claim had been adjudicated correctly and in accordance with the terms of the contract.  Your vehicle was driven into your chosen repair facility very low on oil and it was determined that was due to severe oil leaks from the valve cover gaskets. The engine replacement was denied but a credit authorization for the valve cover gaskets was offered towards engine replacement.

Your contract clearly states the covered components of your vehicle in Section ** We have attached your contract for convenience.

We see that you have already cancelled your contract. CarShield has no contractual obligation to refund any payments after the first 30 days. However, in an effort to resolve this matter, CarShield will refund you last 12 payments upon execution of a Settlement and Release Agreement. If you wish to accept this offer, please email ******************************* to confirm and we will draft the Agreement and email it to you for your electronic signature. I have had Carshield for six months and my car started acting up. I put my car in the shop and they have been getting me the run around. The car was suppose to get repaired but Carshield did not approve the repair for the car. I needed a rental but Carshield did not submit anything on my behalf. I would like a refund because they did not repair anything and I never received any services.

In February 2023, after part of a claim was denied, I called car shield to complain and cancel the plan. I did not realize that they were still billing us after February because their name from the account they were billing from changed sometime to ***** or something different like that. IT was not showing as car shield anymore. The ONLY way that I finally realized they were still billing me was in October we had fraud on our bank card and after that the bank cancelled the card and issued a new one. With a week or two I received an email from Car Shield saying they couldn't charge the card on file. I was shocked because they shouldn't be needed to charge me since I had asked to cancel at the end of February. I called car shield first to explain and asked for mgmt. Whoever I talked to advised that I could just call my bank to dispute because there was nothing they could do on their end. I proceeded to file a complaint with Bank of America for the charges from March 2023 to September 2023. This is 7 months of $79.99 that should not have been billed to our card and was, under another company name to our surprise. The bank seems is taking too long to get this resolved and has reversed the temporary credits that they had provided to us so I decided I needed to take this a step further and complain through the BBB.
This was NOT supposed to bill after the month of February 2023. All charges up to February 2023 are valid and charges after that are not valid or authorized. Can you please step in and help us with this.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

We have reviewed our phone records and we do have a call in February when you called in with questions about your claim and what parts were covered.  You were transferred to *** but cancellation was not requested.  If you called from a different number than what we have on your account, please email [email protected] that phone number so we can pull the call to verify cancellation was requested.  We do see that one payment has been refunded due to you doing a chargeback through your financial institution.

This company clearly understood that I wanted to cancel my policy in February and they did not do that on purpose.  Their company make had changed on the drafts so I could not see that “carsheild” was indeed still charging me for all of those months.
    I want this resolved please.

    Customer Answer

I would like to hear the recordings that this company is claiming they have because I did ask to cancel this plan.  This is why I had no clue that they were still even billing me until we had other fraud on our account and then carsheild asked us to update our card on file via an email that they sent to me.

I want all of the fees back from March to September 2023 please.  Someone on their end dropped the ball and did not process this cancellation as requested and it shouldn’t take this much complaining to get this resolved.

I called H31**34363234333237**H on Oct. 30th because my engine locked on my car. I have been paying them since Nov. 19, 2019. I put in a claim for this. They are trying to say my car was overflowing with all fluids and it was not. My car has been in the shop since Oct. 27th. They said at first there was a recall on my engine but it was for the alarm system. They said I needed to send them proof of this. The exact date was on My car stopped on the highway and my engine locked up. They are finding every reason to not fix my car. They sent it to the Kia H34323430373131****35Hhip and they said there is no recall. If they can&#**;t fix my car, I would like a refund of all the money I have sent to them.

I purchased car shield for peace of mind. on October 30th 2023 my car needed service. c**** *********. on October 31st I received a text that the service center filed claim on behalf. on November 1 I received a text the car shield "American auto shield" scheduled an adjuster to view the repairs at service center. the adjuster called Ford service center and asked what time the mechanics go to lunch. the adjuster showed at the service center "coincidentally" at the time the mechanics were at lunch. the adjuster then made the determination that my car repairs were to only be 1992.64. Ford laughed at me and stated no way could they do the repair needing to done for that much. I was told the adjuster had talked about after market parts or less of warranty part. on nov. 7th I received a text stating my claim was approved. I contacted carshield the following day to set up car rental. I was told I had a 7 day rental less 1 day. so now I was looking at only a 6 day rental. when I was notified the car rental where I live closed at 5pm so I lost a day. at this point car shield had made no effort to contact me only by text. as I talked to customer service at carshield to go repairs i asked why is carshield covering a 1/3 of what the service center is quoting? the customer service person (not qualified mechanic) told me"it's probably labor and it's not our problem". I then told car shield customer service that care repair for my car were still 2-3 weeks out. again I was told by customer service not their problem. the service center had to reschedule my car for repairs because it took days for car shield to answer them. not once has car shield reached out to me . I have been the one contacting. I was on the phone for over 6 hours being bounced around trying to get answers. I have asked many times to speak to a general manager - someone higher than a supervisor. I was told by car shield they were never going to give that information because I was not entitled to it.

They are saying there is a mileage dispute on my contract and they said a handwritten receipt is not verifiable. When I went to Green ******* and Brake (in business for 15 years) this is all they do, write written receipts. I had a driveshaft issue with a bolt and had to take it to them. I do all my own oil changes. They are saying there is a mileage dispute on my odometer so they are denying the claim. If there was any type of dispute at any time they should have let me send a picture of the odometer at the time I signed the contract. They said the receipts I sent were too old. The mileage difference is less than 1500 miles and I put around ****** miles since I signed the contract. The only person that can speak to an adjuster is the garage. Then they require 24 hours to review it. Then I get back with them to find out the status and found out that was not good enough and needed to send something with the *** number on it. I would like for the claim to be paid that has to do with my vehicle.

I purchased a warranty plan with Car Shield in April 2023. I paid them $89.99 every month until November 1 2023. My car needed some work to it, a wheel bearing was bad, the brakes and the struts and a tie rod. Car Shield denied my claim. I called them on the phone and since my warranty plan wouldn't cover the repairs I asked the customer representative which ********************** plan would cover those repairs. She told me that's not how things work. Your warranty plan is based on the make, model, and year of your car. When I signed up in April with Car Shield I didn't get to pick the warranty package. Car Shield picked my warranty package. Also I called numerous mechanics and nobody would take car shield. When I called the customer representative to ask her about which warranty package would cover my repairs I asked her then if she knew of any mechanics here in the ***** valley that would take it and there was only two. They had just took a payment out of my account the latter part of October so I told her to cancel my account and that I wanted a refund for that last payment. She informed me that they don't do refunds. Several mechanics that I had contacted about fixing my car that would not take car Shield had nothing but bad things to say about car Shield they said that they don't pay for repairs and that I should cancel my policy so that's what I ended up doing after losing $630. I paid into a business for 7 months and got absolutely nothing in return. I received absolutely nothing for $630. They basically stole my money. I cancelled my policy with them on Nov 1, 2023.

I contacted you guys regarding Car Shield and I got an email from you to accept or decline the offer that car Shield was offering. I accepted their offer but she sent me this big old legal contract that she wants me to sign an initial and I didn't agree with it. I don't feel comfortable signing this legal contract. I asked her if she could make the transaction simpler and she told me that if I don't sign the form they won't refund me my money and I'm not signing this big old huge legal form that she sent me. Please let me know how to proceed from here. Thank you
