  My husband and I have been filing taxes with H&R block for 23 years. In the last three years, we have been treated in rude manner and each time we were told we had a penalty from *** by our tax preparer. The tax preparer has continually told ** to pay the wrong amount in estimated taxes. In March 2023, we were treated with disdain on the one hand and incompetence on the other. The tax preparer made errors in preparing our tax return and this resulted in two further amended returns and the *** contacting ** by mail and we received a further penalty and we had to pay additional money to Federal and State.We are left with having to wait 16 weeks to hear back from *** about our 2023 tax return and this is causing great emotional distress for both of us. Every time I phone H&R there is no one answering the phone and voicemail is full so no messages can be left.

  My mom talked me into going with her to get my taxes done. Fees are sky high. My mom was charged $300 and when they ran her debit card she was charged $300 three times. She called them back several times and promised to refund the $600 but they have failed to do so after more than a month. I told her to contact her bank to report fraudulent charges by HR Block. I'll never go there again.

  They messed up my taxes back in 2020. They also messed up the amendment last year and ** still trying to get my money this year. After they messed up my amendment, they did not contact me though they had my email address and phone number. They have a promise pledge that I intend for them to keep. I want my $3800 back. I want the money back that I was supposed to be receiving for homestead that was never filed. And I want the money back that I filed my taxes with 279. I have called corporate and nothing has been done. I keep getting lied to from the office in *****************, claiming that they have called me and they have not. This is ridiculous. I need all of my money back and ****** and ******* the tax preparers at this office should both be ashamed of themselves. This is very unprofessional. I want all of my money back and I wont stop until I get it. I will never spend another dime with this company ever again in my life. Give me my money back stop lying to corporate and learn how to do your job better. Heads are going to roll for this. Im not letting it go.

  Im perplexed reading the reviews and noticed that my case is exactly the same like everybody else in this reviews. Im disabled and Hispanic. At a point I thought it could be discrimination because of any of my personal circumstances. I let everyone there involved in my process to know I was disabled. The lady filled out my taxes and I ended up with a debt of almost $9,000.00.I complained saying that they didnt help me. The lady who filled out my taxes admitted that She wasnt a Tax Specialist. She called the Manager and She gave me all kind of excuses saying that was just the way the Government works, BUT SHE NEVER CHECKED MY TAXES FORM FILLED OUT. She told me to request a payment arrangement that same night. After doing some research I found out that they didnt applied the Credits that I was entitled. I went back next day and they called the Manager on the phone because She wasnt there.That Manager made Me disclosed in detail all my Disabling Conditions on Speaker where everybody there was listening. I requested an appointment with her and told her The Specific Credits that I was entitled. She just applied One and my debt went found in half. When I went home I noticed that the other credits were not applied. Everybody in that Company turned their back on me, even The General Manager really rude like everybody else. He refused to help me. Im still waiting for a Call from ***************** with the Case ON Escalate. No answer.

  I when to the office. ******************************* filed the taxes on 1/23/2023. The federal was filed and received the return back. HOWEVER....the **************** and Alabama was never filed. I called the office, 4 times, I had to leave a message each time with no return call. I have called the call center 7 times and has been escalated 7 times. Nobody has called and nothing has been done. I paid $651.00 in fees for the taxes to be filed. Now here it is 4/24/2023 and my state taxes have still not been filed. Now I am being penalized for them not being filed on time. Still can't get any help from the office or the company. I have even reached out to the district manager and nothing! So much for all the promises that they make. So now I am going to hire a lawyer and *** for the money and emotional damages along with punitive damages that have now accrued!

  Last tax year we lived in an apartment. This tax year, we had purchased a townhome in late 2022 and my documents now included a **** mortgage interest statement. *** made a comment about how since we purchased our home late in the year, it probably wouldnt help us much, but next year it would be a tax advantage. After all info was entered and I had electronically signed, he said lets see how you compare to last year. The amount of $404.00 popped on the screen. I was in shock, to say the least. Last year, my bill was $180.00, He made a comment about how doing the extra sheet added to the price. Extra sheet? There was no mention about an extra sheet or a substantial increase in the fee until everything was complete and I had signed. *** tapped the folder with all my personal tax documents on the desk and said, I cant give you these back until your husband signs. I said ok, he will be in tomorrow. He insisted that I give him my husband's email so that he could sign electronically. I left the building feeling like Id just be scammed out of over ****** dollars. My husband signed electronically and paid the fee that evening. The next day, my husband stopped by to pick up our tax folder. When he brought the folder home, it did not contain any of our personal documents. I called the office to tell them. They said they didnt have my personal documents, was I sure I brought them in? Are you kidding me? For the next two weeks, I called the office nearly every day and stopped in once. Each time I was either told *** isnt here, *** is with a client, or we looked, and we cant find them anywhere. On April 14, 2023, I told the receptionist I would be filing a formal complaint. At 7:40 pm that night, I received a call that my tax documents had been found. I picked them up the next day. No one ever offered an explanation or even an apology regarding my lost documents. Additionally, H&R Blocks advertising regarding upfront fee transparency is a sham.

  I will not even given them a star - they deserve to be out of business. I had them assist with doing my taxes online and I was billed back by the *** for over $1,300.00. This is all bad enough, but this has to be the worst, worst, worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. I have now had 7 cases numbers (all escalated, what a joke) and every time I call, I get a new case number. I have probably wasted 10 hours of phone time dealing with total incompetency. I even called 1x and someone picked up the phone and I heard a baby crying, a dog barking and a husband yelling at his wife, "aren't you supposed to be working today" - they really need to be put out of business. RUN, RUN ANYWHERE ELSE - DO NOT LET THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY DO ANYTHING FOR YOU - THEY ARE USELESS AND SOMEONE ADVISED ME THAT THE BEST WAY IS TO FIND THEIR GENERAL MANAGER IS ON ******** AND TO TRY AND CALL HIM OUT. Please do not give them any business - we as human beings deserve a way better company and service then whatever H&R Block is offering - I was forced to give them one star as everyone else was in order to submit this review - just trying to save someone else

  I worked for them until 4-20-2023, and I informed the boss(franchise owner) about workplace bullying. He then told the person I was complaining about! She screamed at me and kept trying to call me. He NEVER even talked to the victims. He did this twice! I thought as an office manager that I had to go to him. I couldn't take the fall out and quit. This place is in ************* *********. Be aware!! Stay away!

  I scheduled an appointment for filing with a pro. She didn't know how to file a ****b. They were never up front about their fees until the work was done. $613 was the final bill.

  This branch of HR Block should have their tax number pulled! My 85 yr old Dad just needed his state tax filed - federal already done - and they said they could not legally file the state without refilling the federal, which is a lie and fraud on their part. Charged my dad $300 to file an EZ form and State tax. My dad got a letter from the *** stating that the second filing was wrong, and that he owed money, because they entered the wrong standard deduction amount. 5 months later, and after LOSING my dads forms, they still have not fixed it. The ignorant lady who incorrectly filled out my dads for is still filling out other peoples forms, and they keep saying they will look at it and take care of it, but they have done nothing. I will be looking into how I can proceed with legal claim against them, as they have shown no interest in fixing what they charged my dad to s**** up for him. There are plenty of good services out there. Do not use HR Block. They are scammers.
