  The tax preparer who handled my case, threatened my grandson tried to fear in him. My grandchildren lost their mother and father earlier that year, and this gentleman had no remorse whatsoever for them or for me. I am still in shock by what happened at H&R Block and by the handling by H&R Block corporate office. I will never use H&R Block again my lifetime.!

  I had an issue with extending my taxes. My tax specialist told me to pre pay my taxes for one state but didn't have me to it for a second state and federal. This incurred $3000 in late fees and interest. When filing an issue with the company I got, "sorry for your bad luck" and the lack of communication and customer service is sad. Yes, I did buy the extra coverage. It seems they are ignoring me to the point I will give up.

  I used H&R block for the first time last year. Someone hacked into my H&R block account and therefore had access to all of m information and my children's information as well. When I filed a claim through the fraud department, it took them a while to get back to me and when they finally did get back to me, they sent me an email stating that they did not find an account with my SSN, email, or phone number. This is false because when I spoke to the agent on the phone, she was able to pull up my account with my SSN, email, and phone number. Not too long after I was hacked the first time, I was then hacked again. I know for sure that I was hacked twice because whomever got into my account tried to change my email address to an address that I did not recognize at all. I took all of the steps to try and ensure that I wasn't hacked the second time. I changed my password, set up an extra level of login security, and still someone got in. I finally just deleted my entire account, but now I have to freeze mine and my children's credit. I would never recommend or use this company again. I will go back to doing my taxes how I always have done them. TurboTax. I have never had an issue with them in the almost 10 years that I have used them. I recommend staying far away from H&R block.

  UNPROFESSIONAL, HORIBAL CUSTOMER SERVICE.
  I FILLED MY 2021 TAXES WITH H&R BLOCK ONLINE , IT GOT COMPLETED I PAID ALL THE FEES REQUIRED AND SOUMETTED MY FILES .IT SAID VALIDATED AND I WAS SBLE TO DOWNLOAD MY CLIENT COPY. BUT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY REFUND ENDLESSELY. I CONTACTED THE IRS THEY SAID THEY DONT HAVE ANY RECORD OF MY 2021 TAXES IN THEIR SYSTEM SO I SHOULD CONTACT H&R BLOCK . I HAVE BEEN CALLING THEM FOR SO MANY TIME WITHOUT GETTING ANY HELP FOR MY SITUATION .THEY SAID THEY SYSTEM SHOWS THAT IT IS COMPLETED SO THEY DONT KNOW WHY IRS CAIN'T SEE IT. THEY HAVE BEEN TRANSFERING ME FROM ONE SERVICE TO ANOTHER WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION. THEY FINALY DELETED ALL THE RECORD OF MY TAXE DOCUMENTS ON THEIR SYSTEM WITHOUT REFUNDING THE FEES I PAID .

  Tacoma WA Block Advisors on Tacoma Way Blvd and District Manager located in Seattle:
  . They don't call back when they say they will, I always had to followup. This was with Peter, Dawn and District Manager Robin,
  Peter was coordinating with Dawn who had better expertise. It was months after that I found out through the office asst, they each worked 2 days a week of which they never worked on the same day.
  I contacted Robin who said that was unacceptable, only to find out when he said he would call back he didn't either. The last time he called he was in his car and told me he'd call the following Mon about 11AM. That was last Nov and never happened. He also told me they were going to close to fully refund me for the services Peter and Dawn did and that it can take time because HR Block is about is as slow as the IRS. I have not heard from Robin since.

  I received a notice from the IRS indicating I owed an additional amount of money plus more than $800 penalty for my 2021 return. Based on the letter from the irs, they did not receive a 1099-R in the amount of $7500.00 which I entered on the H&R Block tax form. I verified the information that was on my laptop and showed it to the H&R Block representative. She was not interested in what I was showing her. And it was brought to my attention that there was a glitch in their system which therefore the 1099-R was not forwarded to the IRS. I was then charged $215.00 for her to tell me “so what you owe this and go home write a check”. I’ve called many times, no answer and no return calls.

  Went to Mustang OK. Clerk wouldn’t listen to me (she knew it all) and caused us to pay an overage of $1242. plus a $71 penalty. Few months later OK state contacted us with the overage amount and sent us a refund. I called H&R Headquarters requesting a refund of $255 for their “services rendered”. I was told a different department would contact me within 3-5 days. Never did! The Mustang office is only open on Mondays and when I call the phone just rings without an answer & disconnects.

  False advertisement and false information with Emerald Advance was denied first time since 2015 and what they based it on is false they tell you up to $1300.00 but when you call corporate the automated system state up to $1000.00 no relations with H& R Block but yet I used there service and emerald advance since 2015 plus I have a emerald card and a spruce card, not enough income well I receive a paycheck every 2 weeks and delinquent but I was delinquent the years prior and still qualified for the loan. I meet there criteria they are advertising so if you have never used their service before then you can still get a loan they are full of shit false advertising.

  My husband and I have been going back and forth with the Hampton, VA H&R Block on Mercury Blvd since March of this year. A new hire was allowed to prepare our taxes without any guidance from a senior associate. My husband was ill advised and misinformed resulting in our taxes being improperly prepared & us owing the IRS over $4,000. Our case has since been assigned to who we thought was a tax expert. We were sadly mistaken. The proper tax forms have yet to be submitted to the IRS on our behalf. We were advised to pay what was owed to the IRS and to expect a refund from H&R Block under the “Peace of Mind” clause. It’s now December, we haven’t received our refund because we weren’t advised to complete the application until yesterday and our 2022 taxes are still in disarray.

  Since May 2023 I have been dealing with my State Tax to be filed and paid by H&R Block. The reason was H&R block didn't file my 2021 state return and I owe, and that balance has accrued interest. I was contacted by this issue after in initial complaint and was told that since I paid the "Peace of Mind" that all will be taken care of and sorry for the issue that this cause. I was then informed that I would receive the cost to file my tax return which was 409.00 and that was not paid and also that I once my state tax return amount is received then paid H&R block would pay plus interest. For more details, I call back to the state in Nov 2023 (per amount of time to complete process of tax return) and was told the balance and interest, I in turn contact H&R Block informed them of the balance and interest. Also, if it was not paid by the 16th of November there would be a balance per the (State of Alabama tax office). H&R Block customer service told me that I will hear from someone in 3-5 business days. Of course, it is now Dec 2023 and still have not heard from no one. So, I called H&R Block again and was told it will be a priority and I will hear from someone in 3-5 business days. Then when I do hear back on the 4th day then I had to yet explain all over again what happen and what I was told and process. I was informed that I need to pay the debt to the state, and they will reimburse me. I said, "That's bull****" and I need to talk to someone higher than her (H&R Block on Bell Rd in Montgomery, AL). The woman stated that we don't need to do that and asked if I can get the balance from the State of Alabama, they will send me a check for the balance and any possible interest to me in the mail. I called the State of Alabama Tax office and was given the balance with added interest, then email all that information to the office on (My Block). This is a stress that no person should have to experience. I want the, to make it right! and keep their word.
