  HR block doesn't deserve 1 star, but 0 wasn't an option! HR block mislead me into filing my taxes joint under the stipulation they would file an injured spouse with my returns. Inspite of my hesitance , I was assured my taxes would not be recouped for my spouses debt. I asked this question multiple times and multiple times I was told my refund would not be recouped. Well guess what they were ! I was also told Hr block made a mistake on last yr return and they would submit an amended return, which they never did! After paying over 500 for service and following up with them multuple times they have never called me back. I also sent several emails! I was told to call IRS! Which have not been successful ! HR block scammed me out of my tax refund and cost of preperation and doesn't have the decency to acknowledge my calls ! They have ignored me! I have never had an experience like this one! They are liars once they collect your payment you never hear back from them again! Their Tax "professionals" lied to me and take no accountability ! They should not be allowed to spread misinformation and handle peoples finances ! I paid extra for services if I need help with IRS and they should rectify the problem and give me my money back !

  I'm really upset with the service at H&R Block in Kahului. I have a small business, and taxes are a bit tricky for me, so I thought they could help. I booked an appointment online with someone who's supposed to know about my situation. The first visit was okay, but then they told me my tax return got rejected. So, I made another appointment online with the same person, but when I got there, they weren't in. I had to leave my documents with the receptionist.
  
  I waited for weeks, but no one called me. When I called, they said I had to wait until Saturday for a call. I wanted an in-person meeting, but they only offered a short phone call. On Saturday, they didn't call me at all, even though I waited. I tried calling them many times, but no one answered.
  
  It's already May, and my taxes are still not done after paying $580. This is really frustrating. I won't use H&R Block again, and I'll tell others about my bad experience.

  Tax software indicated to me that my state returned was filed and pending. It never got filed at all. By the time I questioned the continued “pending” status, my taxes will be filed late and incur penalties. Customer service would not accept any responsibility and informed me that the only option for me was to print and file on my own manually. I do not own a home printer so this is a huge burden. Again, no accountability taken and no real offer to help resolve my issue.

  H&R are horrible people with no conscioiunces they have hurt me and my kids financially and we are already struggling. SHAME ON YOU!!!!! KARMA WILL COME YOUR WAY!!! hOW DO THESE CROOKS SLEEP AT NIGHT?

  This place has terrible customer service, I advise you to not ever go to H&R Block for your taxes. Go to a reputable CPA who will have your best interest at heart. Lakisha T***** and the "manager" Melissa who is more of an ignorant human being have no idea how to deliver proper customer service and are anything but tax "professionals". I requested a refund after a mishap with my taxes. I wasn't presented all the options of where to put my money, there was a lack of proper communication and they don’t keep their word. They twisted the story in their favor. There was no transparency or remorse for the lack of communication. Do not trust these people with your money. This is your livelihood and they have no respect for it.

  I take back any criticsms of other companies for bad customer service. H&R Block surpasses them all tenfold. Their website is exytremely USER-UNFRIENDLY interms of reviewing a tax return and is very difficult to navigate. When I told of my frustration to my tax advisor, she said, "Yes, we have complaints about it all the time." Subsequent to my filing my tax return for 2023, I received a small refund from the IRS. In my return, I was to receive NO refund. I then received a letter from the IRS explaining the refund, that I had paid too much in taxes, but that I was also charged a pensulty for not making quaterly payments. My non-esteemed tax advisor had never told me I should be doing this.
  Now that April 15 has passed, I cannot get through to the office I have dealt with --it's closed. Messages and emails to my tax-unadvisor go unanswered. Called an 800 number allowed me to make an appointment for a phone call from them which never happened. Oh wait, it did happen, my phone rang once, then the person calling hung up. When I immediately returned the call, I got recordings.
  So, H&R Block mucked up my tax return, caused a $$$ penulty for me and now, apparently has left me low and with less cash.
  I shall never use this company again.

  H & R Block received my Federal Tax return on 1/29/24. I had selected that $3000 of the refund be put on an Amazon gift card. In the past I have selected this method of payment w/o incident. This year 2023, has been a problem. I have been waiting for an Email from Amazon for verification before they issue the gift card. I first called H & B Block on 4/16/24 to learn the status of the gift card. I called them again on 4/22/24, 4/25, 5/1, 5/3/24, and 5/6/24, each time I am told that I have been put on the spead sheet and that the issue will be resolved in 3-5 days. On 5/1/24 I had the case to tier 2 for quick resolution. I have been keeping track of the time spent either on the phone with a H & B Block customer service Rep or on hold, I am up to 11 hours. I just called the tier 2 phone and spoke with Joyce, she told me that the case has been given to her Asst Manager, Joleisha M*****, for resolution, I asked to speak to Ms. M***** and she was not available, I asked to speak to someone else with some added authority and I was told that I could not. I feel that their level of customer service is poor and that they are doing nothing to resolve my issue, even after 6 phone calls and 11 hours of my time on the phone. I am waiting for Ms, M***** to call me back.....................................

  didnt tell me up front the cost, they filed my taxes then said I owed $300. I could have gone elsewhere. I have called the HR Block headquarters and filed a complaint stating I want some of the fee returned. Nothing...just plain robbery from this office

  Shannon D*** from Helena, MT. I currently have to say I will never use H&R Block for taxes ever again. I am more than upset with the services. Not only did they give the wrong routing number to their bank, so the direct deposit was rejected, but then they gave my physical address instead of the mailing address to the Federal and State IRS both. I emailed several times in order to fix this and made several phone calls in order to fix the issue. Still have not got my state issue fixed. I did however fix my federal taxes and now I have to wait another 4-6 wks to receive it. I paid 400 to get my taxes done and the problem hasn't been completely fix yet. What a dissappointment!!!!!
