  Varsity tutors has been an amazing help for my son, ******* has been great, my sons confidence level has gone up when it comes to Algebra. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with any subject, when I first found varsity tutors the person I spoke with really took their time to help me find the best package for my son, they truly care about the student and make sure to find a great match between tutor and student.

  I signed my son up for tutoring on an upcoming state exam. The first meeting with the tutor involved tech issues, and my son couldnt even see her screen. These issues lasted for the first 30 minutes of the session. Also, She was confused about which test he needed assistance with, and I communicated that with the tutor. The second session didnt happen because when my son signed on, the tutor mentioned she was having tech issues and she contacted Varsity Tutors, but they hadnt responded in time for the session. I told her he could do it the next day. Didn't receive a response until later that evening. I canceled the services, and two weeks after that, I received a call saying that the tutor had quit and I should look for another tutor. Poor communication within the organization! I requested a refund, and it was denied. I asked for an explanation and was told they dont refund used hours. But where were the used hours? If I were depending on them to help my son with the exam, it would have been for nothing. No apology or efforts are being made to rectify this situation. I paid them for a service that they didnt offer to me. Plus, they are giving me the runaround, fulfilling my request, and giving me a full refund.

  I originally contacted the company to try out for an upcoming exam that I had. I wanted to buy one session just to make sure I liked it first, but they said they didn't offer that, and I had to buy the monthly subscription of 2 hours for $199. I told them that it was a lot of money and I had to think about it because I only wanted to meet for this exam. They then assured me that they had a 100% satisfaction guarantee and I had nothing to worry about, if I wasn't satisfied, they would return my money or get me a new tutor. In my first session instead of helping me with exam prep, the tutor said," There is no point in redoing problems, let's just do your homework." When I told him that I had an exam I wanted to study for the connection broke up and he ended the session after 10 minutes. I tried emailing him and he never responded, I then called customer service they said he wouldn't respond to them either. They scheduled me with another tutor and that tutor never even showed up. When I called to cancel, they said they would give me my money back and a free month that does not start until over a month from now. Then a day later I got an email that my refund had been denied. I called to clear things up and they said there is nothing they can do, but they already gave me a free month so that should be good enough. Very unprofessional and false advertising that they have a 100% satisfaction guarantee when they don't.

  We signed up at the end of the school year to keep our 1st grader up to speed over the summer and help with areas he was struggling in. We are so thankful for our tutor and all she has done for him, this fall he teachers told us they could tell he worked all summer! Worth the time and investment for us!

  They will not let you cancel and try to talk you into different membership levels and/or offer free sessions to try to keep you with them. I called to cancel once and was offered a lower level of membership. I called a few months later to cancel that and was told that my cancellation call (they refuse to let you cancel via email or on the app or online system) was noted and that they were so sorry and would offer 4 free tutoring sessions to see if that helped me see the value - noting that i would NOT be charged. Then I was charged again for the higher level of membership I had canceled several months before. They claimed their notes didn't reflect all of this information- which is ridiculous. The company over charges anyway and parents are usually reaching out because a child needs tutoring help. But the company refuses to let you go and baits and switches memberships and continues charging you. Stay AWAY. I wish we had.

  Company is misleading. After signing up, a representative calls you to explain the terms of service and take payment. I was assured there was a money back guarantee if not satisfied, which was the reason I was willing to prepay almost $400 for 4 sessions. After one unproductive session, I attempted to cancel my account for a refund. Despite being assured that there was a satisfaction guarantee, I was told there is no way to get a refund. Even though I haven't used 3/4 of my hours, and was assured there were options if I was unsatisfied. Now I am out $400 without any productive help, feeling pretty frustrated with the first representative I spoke with who lied to me.

  We engaged for a month college pre calc 2 test assist. 1. tutor did not show for 1st session ( we scrambled for test 1) 2. tutor did well and college student passed ( whew!). They kept offering us free hrs due to initial snafu. We declined and despite cancelling membership ( several calls and texts) they kept our account open. They continued to charge us. No response from supervisor. No acknowledgement of error...and most important...refusal to provide credit.This is why people fear automatic charges to CC. you can t cancel account unless you threaten legal action.

  horrible customer service, the tutor was not helpful and I've tried canceling for two days, but no one will help me. I had a meeting with a manager to call me today at 930a and they have not called. when I reached out they said they were busy with calls. I would hope when you set a time to call you would call within the time frame given. 40 minutes later and no call yet. They will sign you up and take your payment on minutes but it will take days to cancel or even come to a resolution. They deserve zero stars

  Excellent!! We are very happy with Varsity Tutors. My step daughter's scores have improved dramatically since she started with the tutor.

  It's a great service. My kids went from an F in reading to a C and is still progressing. He actually enjoys school now when before he used to beg to stay home.
