  I have had an excellent experience with Varsity Tutors. From the first contact and payment setup to my classes with my instructor JP. Everything has been smooth and educational. I have been able to self direct what I think I needed. JP was always ready to fill in any questions. Well worth the money.

  I literallt only used it for 2 months and little did i know it would be my biggest regret ever. I used varsity tutors for my finals and the tutors are so bad and stupid and just truly incompetent, i failed the classes they tutored me in.When i went to cancel my subscription they told me i had to wait one more month and then i would be able to cancel which i did when i called them again to cancel they didnt pick up their phone and told me they would give me a call back which they never did. I also texted them and they told me to explain my issue which i did then they never answered again. So i contacted my bank and they disputed the charge and told me they put a block on my account so they cannot charge me again. come the next month Varsity tutors charged me again and i had to call then bank again and change my credit card number so they cant charge me again.now this month after i got a new credit card number some how they secretly charged me again and it didnt even show up on my transaction records and i wouldnt have known if i hadnt called cibc again. Now i dont know what i should do should i switch to a whole new credit card company or what?i cant get rid of them. DONT SUBCRIBE TO VARSITY TUTORS!!!

  Varsity Tutors is deceptive. The representative said my son will have a great tutor that will work with him at his schedule. The tutor they selected could not fit my son in to her schedule. Then they found us another tutor but was a waste of time. He had my son do an assessment during tutorial. My son could have done assessment after tutorial hours. Then the 2nd session, the tutor did not respond to us. My son was waiting for him. I called to cancel membership and was told I could but then got an email saying I was not getting a refund. Very disappointing. Please beware I feel I was scammed by Varsity Tutors, and I am an educator. Also these positive reviews are very suspicious. I thought it would help my son but it's not worth the money I spent. I hope my credit card company will stop the reoccuring charges.

  I have been using Varsity Tutors for 2 years for my high school daughter. The tutors have been exceptional and extremely helpful in assisting my daughter in various subjects. The sessions are very thorough and the tutors are very patient in their teaching styles. The tutors are prompt, courteous, and genuinely care about the success of their students. The tutors always provide detailed summaries at the end of each session that are very helpful in informing parents on what was accomplished and what areas need more attention. My daughter has gained confidence and a deeper understanding of the course materials. I would highly recommend Varsity Tutors for *********** students.

  DO NOT USE VARSITY. If i could give less than one star, I would. We signed up three weeks ago because my stepdaughter needs help in 6th grade math and language arts. After 3 weeks, we still have not had a successful tutoring session and I have had to spend almost 8 hours on the phone trying to get help. At first, they kept matching her with tutors who were trying to schedule sessions outside of her availability - which was in her profile. We had to do the work of calling and complaining each time we matched with a tutor and they scheduled an incorrect session. For example, she is supposed to have tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We got session requests for Saturday at 7pm. wtf?Then, their customer service *****. Most of their service reps are outside of the US and there is no way to escalate and talk to a manager. They say that a manager "will call you back in the next ***** hours", but if you miss that call, there is no way to call the manager back directly. You have to go through the ENTIRE song and dance again, with a new rep that knows nothing about your case. They FINALLY matched our kid with a tutor available during her time, but only after I spent SEVEN HOURS on the phone with them on Monday and had to talk to multiple different reps. I was hung up on twice by folks who said "what do you want me to do? Ive flagged the problem.". This week, our 6th grader was supposed to start her tutoring but guess what? The tutor has cancelled BOTH SESSIONS this week last minute. On Tuesday, she cancelled about ********************************************************************** Today, she cancelled 5 minutes before our session without even a "sorry". I called the customer service line back and have just spent the last 45 minutes on the phone trying to talk to a manager about this with no luck. Interestingly, the customer service reps have no authority to help you with your tutor or cancel your membership. This place is a horrible scam.

  Terrible company would not recommend them at all! Bought 4 hours of tutoring then realize I didn't need it and they would not give me a refund even though I'd use none of the hours. Literally scumbags

  Varsity tutors has been great to use. I use them for calculus help to prep before I take exams and it has made all the difference. Instead of wasting time trying to teach myself what I do not understand, I have my tutor break down the areas I am lacking in. Love the flexible scheduling and insta-tutoring options.

  My oldest son started using Varsity Tutors in 2020 when Covid hit and they shut down the school his Kindergarten year. I didn't want him to fall behind as we had decided to go to virtual school for 1st and 2nd grade to avoid getting sick. We found a tutor who he absolutely adored through Varsity Tutors and continued with for 3 years. My younger son also started using Varsity Tutors prior to entering Kindergarten and was able to read and write before starting Kindergarten. My kids not only found a tutor, but honestly, a lifelong friend for our entire family. I couldn't be more grateful for everything our tutors have taught my boys, pushed them to be better, and helped them get ahead in a very tough environment. I would recommend using Varsity Tutors to anyone - not just for the kids struggling in school, but for the ones that are not getting enough one on one attention in school or need to be pushed harder. I have had a very positive experience using the Varsity Tutors platform and have and will continue to recommend them to anyone I know.

  If I could give a zero, I would. I paid for my contract and when the contract ran out, they continued to charge my credit card. I called to cancel my account and no confirmation was sent. I did not use their service and they unethically charged me. Please dont use them.

  We have used Varsity Tutors now for about 4 months to help keep my son learning over the summer between kindergarten and 1st grade. We have a family history of dyslexia and needed something that was flexible as we had a busy summer. Varsity was/is great to work with! His tutor has been amazing about keeping his attention and progressing through material even though it can be challenging with an active 6 year old!
