  *********************************** has been an amazing tutor. Our family absolutely adores him. Our son is a history buff so math doesn't come as easy for him but ***** has somehow made it fun. He is flexible when something comes up and always communicates with me before and after the tutoring sessions. He goes out of his way to make sure that our son has what he needs to succeed. He is always prepared beyond our expectations.

  I would give it a zero. Varsity Tutor is scamming people. When you orders tutor, they do it over the phone so you cant see what you are signing up for. Then when you access their website you have to accept there terms and conditions that has a hidden clause signing you up for a membership. This will continue charging you monthly. Varsity tutor is not cheap and a monthly charge of that ridiculous amount is insane. Then when you figure out that you are being charged this ridiculous amount they have a no refund clause in that same 80 page contract that you have to sign to access your initial amount. They are stealing from every customer.

  Let the buyer beware! We signed up for tutoring for one of our daughters in October and were assigned a tutor who refused to respond to any communication and declined sessions that were scheduled by the company. We were able to attend one session in a public forum during which a "tutor" watched the kids read comprehension questions over a Zoom call and barely spoke. As this was clearly a waste of time, I made clear our intention to cancel and seek assistance elsewhere in response to one of the numerous text messages I received from the account management team(s). That message was clearly not received by the company and they continued to bill us in November and have made it exceedingly difficult to cancel - in fact, they have thus far ignored requests to confirm cancellation. Every single person we've spoken to thus far has been a fundamentally dishonest high-pressure salesman. This company is to be avoided at all costs.

  Just awful. Be warned. This business will do anything to keep you paying them money. I used their services (which were expensive and barely served our purposes) for the academic period in which my daughter needed a tutor. We paid $329 per month for a Geometry tutor. As soon as her class was over, I called to cancel the membership. They spent about 30 minutes wheedling me with offers trying to keep me on the line. They offered me a "summer" membership during which my other child could access some online classes for $49 per month. This was only for classes, no tutor. They told me it would be for the summer only. In September I noticed I was still being charged the summer price. I called to ask to cancel the account. After a very long and annoying call during which they tried to get me to keep the membership, they finally agreed to cancel the membership. A month later I was charged $148.50 with no explanation or receipt. I called to dispute and they told me it was for a meeting I had with a tutor. We hadn't even signed into the account since August, and I had a cancellation notice from when I called in September. They are currently "reviewing" the charge. Unbelievable. I have never written a review on this site, but this business is truly shady and people should be warned.

  Dont waste your money! They over charge you without explanation and when you try to cancel theyll just keep trying to sell you more products! Their website refuses to let you cancel forcing you to call them so they can keep selling.

  Horrible **************** bunch of scammers and they make it impossible to cancel the membership. Multiple billing issues were they double bill and it is very hard to get your money back. I tried to call and cancel and thought everything was already cancelled, only to be billed again. I was billed on a weekend, called on Monday and they refused my refund because once billed you cannot get a refund regardless of mistakes on their end. Save your money and stay away, this has become a headache monthly between the double billing and inability to cancel. I will have to dispute the charge with my bank at this point. Every time I cancel I am told it will take up to 48 hours to go though, it didn't take 48 hours to signup. Save yourself the headache.

  Varsity tutors have really helped my daughter with the extra support she needed on Reading, match, and chemistry. She feels a lot more confident to pass her Accuplacer exam now that she has this extra help. The tutors are very knowledgeable and flexible to meet my daughter schedule. I also appreciate how easy the portal is to navigate and schedule tutoring hours.

  It took 3 tutors to get a professional tutor that responded and accepted session requests. Because of delay in process, I have 1.5 hours remaining in my month I was not able to use. I received a total of 3.5 hours of the 5 hours I paid for. The client services are impossible to get through to. They like to send you text messages and emails and respond with "articles" for you to read instead of a person answering or calling you back. This was expensive and not worth the stress of the process. Do not waste your money like I did. I'm very unhappy with the entire process and my son did not advance or get the information he needed in 3 sessions. I can see that this company just wants to take your money. Beware, they are PST and the hours of operation are just that. So, if you are in a different time zone, they will not respond. They will auto renew your "month to month" membership without an email notification. I did not know that month is month is a reoccurring charge of $320.00. This is truly a monthly charge type of membership.

  This company is a scam for the ***** This subject is not listed on the Top subject they will tell you one thing and do another, especially when you want a return on your money. I will not recommend this company to anyone who wants to pass their LMSW exam. It's a lost of ***** but now I have learned my *******

  We initially had success for geometry. This year, needing a different tutor for algebra 2, however, has been a nightmare. The online new tutor request does not allow to add the detail needed to get an adequate assignment. Multiple follow up calls directly to discuss. The students needs either yielded tutors, whose ours didnt coincide with the hours provided or, in the last case no response for two weeks. Meanwhile, our student grades are slipping up, I attempted to cancel which required emailing or calling. I chose the former the detailed request for cancellation I provided was met with multiple auto generated responses none of which cancel the service fed up. I called Thanksgiving weekend to cancel finally receiving the cancellation I also requested partial reimbursement for the three prior weeks unused because they didnt assign a tutor. They refused despite it being their error, not ours. So we effectively paid $269 for one tutoring session the first week of the month. I do not recommend.
