  Scammers. They take your money and fail to provide trustworthy tutors. Their system has communication issues and major connectivity problems. You will never be able to connect with the tutor. The tutors are unreliable. They will never refund your money if the tutors are not available. They will just take the money and offer no service atall.

  We have had a very positive experience. My son had two academic tutors with whom he meets weekly online. They are both very communicative and flexible with their schedule when needed. I really like the Varsity Tutors platform, it makes scheduling and communication very simple. I think it is a very good value.

  Varsity tutors has been a really great platform for getting my son's grades up. I transferred him to charter school from public school this year and he was struggling with couple of subjects because of change in the curriculum. And ******************* and ********************* have been amazing to provide him the learning that he requires.

  My daughter started using varsity tutors because she was having a really hard time with algebra 2. Her tutor has really helped her and has made learning fun. I never thought she would ever say that she enjoys learning from him. Thank you so much varsity tutors.

  What started out as a good experience with Varsity has turned sour. I signed up for one month of tutoring with Varsity in preparation for a trip to ******. The sessions were fine, but when I went to end the sessions, they kept offering me free months. I took advantage of one free month because I couldn't schedule with my tutor for my last session before the month had lapsed. After the free month, I again called to cancel, but they convinced me to take another free month with the understanding that I wouldn't be charged again and my membership would be cancelled. At the end of the second free month, which I didn't use at all, I thought they would cancel my membership per my previous instructions. They again charged me. I called right away to ask that they cancel my membership and refund the charges, but they told me they have a no refund policy. There is no way to cancel the membership online. You have to call in so they can keep enticing you with free sessions. I feel these practices are deceptive. I want my money back and I don't want to be enticed into taking more months of lessons I don't need.

  Varsity Tutors reached out to me after I posted this review and agreed to refund my money. They apologized for what they said was an error. I am satisfied with their response. On the positive side, the sessions I had with my tutor were fun and informative, and other than this unfortunate incident, I was happy with the service they provided.

  My Son is Moderate Autistic with ADHD and was only reading **** words in a 30 minute session (had to shorten the session length due to attention span). My Son started in September with ******** Book Nicely as his tutor and is now reading around 30 words a session with less errors and can even sit through the whole hour sometimes. He struggled with long words, so ******** started teaching him blending sounds to help him and it has worked wonderfully! He is definitely improving in school as a result. I wish schools would teach like her, then he wouldn't be so far behind. I scheduled a temporary tutor for about 4-5 sessions more recently to make up for his tutor being absent, but those did not go as well, the tutor could only get him to read half the words. She truggled to keep his interest and couldn't always hear him saying the words and would get upset with him easily. The group sessions are awesome for the whole family. I have had 3 sessions where the tutor didn't show up, and a couple where the teacher didn't know how to work the system very well, but for free classes I have been happy with them. A little more training for the tutors of how to work the session would be beneficial rather than the teachers spending 15 minutes of teaching time trying to figure it out would be beneficial.I have contacted customer support with issues with them not giving me a military discount and with scheduling/ the platform and have always been helped right away/ the issue was fixed quickly. I recommend if you have issues with a tutor/ have too many missed sessions, request a temporary tutor or get a new one. Sometimes the tutor can do makeup sessions as well. You can also do the instant tutoring sessions, but those are only 15 minutes. Overall awesome program and I will keep paying for it for as long as I can afford it.

  I am very pleased with Varsity Tutors LLC. Our initial tutor for my son last year wasn't a good fit. We expressed our concerns and Varsity Tutors found us an amazing instructor. **** has worked with my son since the end of 8th grade and into 9th grade Algebra. **** is great at communication and always answers questions /texts. **** breaks down the math concepts so my son can better understand the material. Thumbs up!

  I highly recommend Varsity tutors. They helped my son with AP Chemistry and AP biology. The tutors he was assigned helped his confidence and addressed his anxiety for tests. They were extremely invaluable and that has reflected in his test scores. The tutors are matched to meet the needs of each student and I cant say enough thanks to them. They are flexible and highly knowledgeable. I do like that the tutoring sessions are available for students to go back over at their leisure. We also made use of all the extra online classes and resources that are included in the monthly fee. The ACT prep resources helped with identifying and addressing his weakness and helped him get the score he needed to get into the college of his choice.I signed up for the year and was well aware of the cost and the contract. We were assigned tutors quickly. Yes it is not cheap but having gone through lots of in person tutors to help my son this has been a true blessing.Thank you Varsity Tutors.
