I ordered an item from Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, ************ last February, 2022. It was listed in their catalog as a Desk Organizer. I ordered the Small Organizer with the catalog number of IA232 at the price of $139.95. After about a month, I phoned the company to be told the item was on back order but would be coming in a few weeks. This continued with me calling to be told it was still on back order, once that it was on a boat in the ocean. However, it never came. I called again and again, finally asking for my payment to be returned because it had been charged to and cleared through my bank account. It was paid for by my bank debit card. I did talk to someone in person about this. I was told that I would receive payment. I have waited, but no check has come, nor any credit to my bank account. The total cost I paid for the item which was to include tax and shipping was $174.47. That is a lot of money for me to give for nothing. I have ordered before from this company and been well pleased in the past. I am shocked about this as I trusted this company. Is there any hope I will receive my money back? In February, 2022 I ordered a Kingfield Mission glider chair from Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, order # SO11881. On March 4, 2022 my credit card was charged $826.44. On February 16, I communicated with a Sturbridge Yankee employee, and learned the shipping date wouldn't be until November 2022. A couple of days ago, I tried to contact the company to see if there had been any shipping updates. That's when I found out that the company had permanently closed. They don't respond to emails or answer phone calls. I have no way to to find out if my chair was ordered from the manufacturer before the company closed. If it was never ordered, I would like a full refund. If the chair is still going to be delivered, that's great.Initial Complaint

Gentlemen:On Aug. 02, 2022 I placed order #***-SO72886. I received one item from this order. I have tried emailing and telephoning at least 3 times. I have received no response. All I want is a credit issued for the item not received. Of course, the entire amount of this order was immediately charged to my credit card, instead of being charged when the product shipped. I ordered a toilet paper/tissue container on June 21. Sturbridge Yankee Workshop cashed my check for $74.94 (Ck# ****) on June 29th. I received this item on July 20th and it was damaged. After speaking with customer service, I was told I could reorder the item and received an email saying that the order has been released to the vendor. Sturbridge Yankee is closed, my grandma ordered and never received her order, her bank is not refunding her because the 90 days of purchase protection passed and now their bank account is closed. I called the attorney General of ***** and they are taking complaints, ************************* is a thief, he needs to be investigated and held accountable.He knew his business was closing but decided to keep the website running and keep dropping catalogs to charge people's credit cards and cash their checks, let's bring this thief to the Attorney General attention, let's do it for the hundreds of elderly people that got scammed and don't have access to the internet.please call the ***** Attorney General at ************ or place the complaint on their website https://www.*****.gov/ag/Initial Complaint

My wife, *******************************, and I contacted Sturbridge Yankee Workshop on August 4, 2022 via phone and placed an order for a lamp, candle holders, candles, and Chairside table. We were given the order number S077701 for these items. We have not received any of the items in the order. At this point in time we would simply like a refund.As disappointing as it is, I have learned through on-line research that it seems that the Sturbridge Yankee Workshop has closed it's doors for good. I am inclined to believe that the person we talked with on the phone knew this was coming as she acted reluctant to take our order but did just the same.
