On 10/24/24 I went to pick up a rental car I reserved for a week and was to pay $64.72 at pick up. When I arrived at the location they asked to see my insurance declarations as I was using my personal auto plan. Upon reviewing it I was told it was not sufficient and I had to purchase their insurance at $50/day. I did not see any reason why it would be deemed insufficient. At this point I was stuck there and had to get a car so I paid it. They never told me they have 3 plans to choose from, *****, *****, and ***** and they billed me $50 per day, $350.00 total plus the balance of $64.72 which made the total $414.72. I never received a contract or any paperwork for this transaction only credit card receipts. This company is conducting a bait and switch on their customers. I have filed a complaint with their customer care team and nothing has happened. Upon returning my vehicle 4 other customers left their office furious they were trying to do the same to them and went elsewhere. They are taking advantage of travelers from out of town who have no other options. They billed me exactly $50/day which is not even one of their insurance options. I feel I should get a refund of $350.00 which I was overbilled. I have attached my receipt from *******, my insurance declarations, Priceless requirements and plans, and my credit card statement bill.Initial Complaint

This car rental company is running the same scam based on other reviews online as well. I booked and payed in full online. When I got to get a car rental in person they looked at my insurance stating it not enough coverage. ( I had State Farm basic coverage!) so I said ok so refund me. The *** says he cant! And I needed to go through the third party site u rented from and they cannot make them refund. So they keep telling g a lot of people they cant accept a basic insurance after the person had payed online and wont refund! They are running their hi this way and its wrong.Initial Complaint

I booked a rental car through priceline, I received a confirmation for my rental at Routes Car Rental in ************* for 10/3/24 to 10/4/24. I picked up the car and paid a $500 deposit with my credit card and paid for the rental of $79.00 with my debit card, this rental included the purchase of unlimited tolls. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas before the specified return time. The attendant that took the car in said everything is good, your refund will be returned. As of today 10/28/2024 many calls and emails i still have not received the $500 refund back, no replies to my emails, and when i call they say it takes up to 15 business days. It has been 15 business days and still nothing, every time I call i sit on hold for over 30 min and then get hung up on.Initial Complaint

We Rented a car from Priceless Car Rental in ***************, picked it up 9/25/24 and returned on 10/2/24.. when we arrived was told we had to pay an additional ***** per day for (their) insurance. I have State Farm insurance and my policy has insurance for this, they would not accept my insurance. We had no choice but to pay it due to the fact that it took to shuttles to get to them and nothing else was around to get a car. Now two weeks later my credit card has been charged an additional ****** on 10/15/24. I have tried calling several times and they keep hanging up on me and refusing to explain the extra charges to my credit card. This business is scamming everyone including the elderly and women, they need investigated and shut down for fraud and scamming. The reviews on yelp explain everything and show how many people have paid way over what was needed.Initial Complaint

I uploaded my statement in a word document attached. I was not able to add photos due to it saying the file is too big. As soon as someone reaches out I will provide them with all of the receipts and photos.Customer Answer

The company seemed to have responded to ******* and sent them a completely different receipt with a completely different total amount that I paid and what displays on my receipts please see attached. The first two receipt was from when I first arrived and got the car and then when I left the car and they sent me a new receipt two hours after I left saying they charged me 600 for smoking and the third receipt is the receipt they recently sent Expedia trying to say I was lying. But if you look at the receipt they sent Expedia its a total different car that receipt only shows the car being used for one day and everything about it is just wrong. This screams scam and I feel totally disrespected and abused of financially.Initial Complaint

I rented a car after Hurricane ******. I rented from PRICELESS CAR RENTAL on Expedia w a total of $159.11. When going to pick up the car, I was told that although I was planning on using my own insurance, I was unable. I was told that the typical 50/100 that people have for collision is not enough for this company. It is what every other car rental company allows, but not this car rental company. You must present your declarations page so they can tell you that your collision must start at $100,000. Without this, you must pay $40 per day for their insurance. You must also pay $20 per day for their toll package or pay penalties for each toll you encounter while driving this car. This car rental ended up costing me $343.58. When I objected and said no, he informed me that the rental is nonrefundable. Either pay the remainder or lose the $159.11 I already agreed to paying. I was in a corner. I took the car. When seeing a break in the windshield, I called the office and also emailed them. The email bounced back and the phone went to vm. I eventually got through and was told that I have the wrong number. How can I have the wrong number when I was calling the number on the key tag? I noticed that i signed for a ****** and they gave me a **** EcoSport. They then sent me an updated agreement w my signature that i never saw before. Eventually, they allow me to return for another car. I returned the next morning. It took 2 hours. They wanted to charge me $75 for less than a half a tank of gas. I took the key and filled it to past the half tank mark myself for $18.99. I gave them the receipt. I was telling everyone that came in that they will be billed approx $200 more than what they agreed upon and if you paid online, you're stuck bc he will remind you that online is nonrefundable. When I was about to pull out, the van driver rushed over to the car I was in and pulled the driver's side door open to yell at me.Initial Complaint

I rented the vehicle online on their direct website, It was for August *****. When I arrived, they would not accept my vehicle insurance. Before I rented the car, I made sure to look at their website to see what kind of insurance was accepted. Their website indicated that you must have a valid drivers license, car insurance and credit card. Nothing indicating the specific companies that are accepted. They wanted to charge me an extra $45.00 per day for insurance, which I did not accept. I went ahead and just requested a Lyft in the amount of $31.70. After I arrived at my destination, I called to request a refund and I spoke to a gentlemen by the name of **** and he said that he would refund my money. It has been more than a month and I have not received a credit. I called again today and I'm getting the run around. If you can please help me with the refund. I am asking for my initial amount of $ ***** along with the extra cost of getting a Lyft in the amount of $31.70, totaling $ *****. Thank you for your helpInitial Complaint

I rented a car from NextCar ***************** on September 18, 2024 and returned the car on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at approximately 5 PM. Despite my request, the staff member I spoke to didn't provide a receipt or close out the contract, assuring me they would send it within 15 minutes, which didn't happen. I reached out to NextCar on Monday, September 23 and spoke to ****** in customer service. He sent me the receipt via email, which showed a $100 smoking fee. However, I do not smoke. I was in ********* for a Holy Convocation at ************** of ****************** with my husband and another couple. I am requesting a refund of the $100 smoking fee.Initial Complaint

I rented a car via a third party booking site in Apr./24 for Aug.26-Sept 2. and received the following confirmation # B56482438.The company that rented me the car was Priceless Car Rental in *****. On Aug. 25th I received a text from Priceless confirming my car and I texted back that our flight was landing at 4pm. Landed on time and proceeded to the car rental area of the ************* only to find they were an offsite location which was not apparent in the confirmation. We were given directions to the area where offsite shuttles pick up their customers at 4:35 and sat to wait. We saw no shuttles, so after 20mins I called Priceless at which point they told me I was considered a no show and cancelled my car. For a fee I could restart another rental but declined. I sent an email in regards to this situation to Economy bookings which is the third party site as well as to Priceless Car rental but have had no reply from either business. Reviews for Priceless on their website have very similar scenarios to mine and it also sounds like theyre running a bit of an insurance scam as well. I would like to be refunded the $270US dollars I paid well in advance and I would like to see Priceless dropped from third party booking sites so this doesnt happen to other people. Thank you for your time, ******** *****Initial Complaint

I have made a reservation for the branch in ******* from the US website. I got charge $2512 extra for third party liability insurance, this is illegal under Romanian laws, but the company runs fraudulent activity.I am looking to get a refund for the money that was stolen from me under the pretext that they are just a deposit, the contract was rushed, and I was forced to sign because they gave me no option to exclude the third-party liability coverage.Under romanian law this company is not authorized to sell or resell insurance policies, *** coverage has to be purchased by the owner of the vehicle, no other person can purchase such coverage.
