I spent hours trying to find a car rental and made sure to read all the information provided to avoid this situation, but I was scammed by priceless car rental. Nowhere it was mentioned they didn't accept credit cards insurance for CDW and nowhere they mentioned their insurance was mandatory. Other renters mentioned it in their conditions, so I book feeling confident that having my own insurance was not an issue. I booked via holiday cars. Once I arrived at the rental kiosk, they gave me the choice to pay or leave without the car. I was with my father and my 5 y-o son stuck i don't know where. I didn't have the choice to pay to be able to get my family safely to our condo. I pleaded 3 times that they could not charge me, I had document saying "paid in full", I had my printed proof of insurance (by an insurance ******* of Florida!) and I was just told again and again to leave (and loose my 150$canadian) or pay more to get the car. There was a line of clients behind me and I was the first to get to the kiosk, so I felt really pressured to pay. I have asked holiday cars for assistance and didn't get any answer. Now I fear I will be scammed again when I get the car back there, it was already damaged, made weird sounds and I fear they will try to get more money from me.Customer Answer

Hi, since I booked the rental through Holiday Cars, I requested assistance from them too. At first I didnt receive an answer, but now they also transferred my complaint to their supplier Priceless. Thats the last update I got form them this morning. If I get an answer from this other canal, I will update my complaint with BBB too. Thank you.Customer Answer

Hi,
last week I received the final answer from the intermediary through which I booked the car rental (holiday cars). They have contacted priceless and both maintain everything is normal and that I willingly paid for an insurance for something I was already covered. It's sad to be forced to pay almost 3 times the advised price... this wouldn't happen in ******, ******, we have rules protecting consumers. Thank you for trying to contact them, I will just have to accept this situation and I will try a bigger car rental company to prevent this situation next time.

On 14 March 2024 I rented a vehicle from process car rental in ************* for a family vacation. First off, after my reservation was made for an upgraded suv that could seat 7 I found out days before the trip that I was downgraded to a smaller suv without notice. When I called the company direct they say that they didnt have any larger suvs even tho I paid extra to upgrade my reservation. From the start, the process was horrible but against my gut feeling, I proceeded with the car rental. After waiting for over 1 hour I finally was picked up by the shuttle to be taken to the off site car rental place. The representative came up with extra fees that were listed anywhere in my reservation. By this time I was extremely frustrated and just paid the fees so my family and I could get our vacation started. When I finally got the vehicle it was in horrible shape with broken components and missing body parts. Cosmetic issues aside, the vehicle served its purpose and I returned it on 17 March 2024. When I pulled up I met with the associate outside at the vehicle. He looked over the vehicle and said I was good to go. I asked for a final receipt and was told that my rental agreement was the final receipt. Fast forward to 22 March 2024, I noticed a $520 charge on my credit card. I called priceless car rental to question it and was told that I returned the car with a broken windshield. I immediately disputed and demanded proof. I was sent pictures that were taken 3 days after I returned my vehicle of what looks like a line drawn on a windshield of a random vehicle that *** or *** not have been my specific vehicle. When I asked for my specific pictures proving it was my vehicle, I was sent more pictures that didnt have the crack in the windshield. When I pointed this issue out, I was sent another picture with a line going a different direction. After pointing all the inconsistencies out, the company stopped responding. Now I have the corporate customer service involved.Initial Complaint

booking date 01/08/2024 travel dates 03/20/2024-03/25/2024 booked with PriceLine Mid Size SUV TRIP # ***-763-545-18 Daily Rate $18.00 x 5 days +Tax ***** = $145.71 My reservation was emailed to me advising me the car is holding with Priceless and to download the **** The *** would not download and many attempts. So I only had the emails to work off of. In the email it was stated the Priceless is off sight located 1 mile about a 5 minute drive. Well it took over 25 minutes to arrive to a facility located in the middle of an industrial park. There was no construction on the road. There was no heavy traffic. Others in the Van were making comments on how long it took us to get to the rental car company. There went the first hour of our arrival with 2 other renters in front of me very upset and complaining. When it was my turn it was very clear. Priceless would not accept my car insurance ERIE Insurance. I have been in the travel industry for over 15 years, this is my first experience of this ever! I tried to make other arrangements with other car rentals, but I am in ******* in the middle of spring break in the middle of a industrial park with no internet service, Nowhere in my emails did they say they are specific on the car insurance they would except. Now I am being charged $40.00 for each day for insurance that I did not need to take out. It's also getting dark and I needed to be at my destination that I am well over 2 hours late arriving too. My travel companion did have State Farm but the agent would not make the change on the booking. Advised me that I would have to cancel my reservation and rebook under her name even though she would have been a second driver on the car and not promising a car on Thursday when we rebooked. Ironically on the return from this car company back to the airport the shuttle truly only took 5 minutes. I felt that we were truly taken advantage of upon arrival. The agent added $5.00 per day x 5 days =$25,00 for tollsInitial Complaint

I rented a car from Priceless Car Rental, *****, **, with the reservation dates of March *****, 2024. Confirmation # PRBGP10316412. The reservation was made through Economy Bookings.Upon pick-up of the vehicle, I was told that my insurance (Progressive) was not sufficient for the car rental, and I had two options: 1) I could pay $60 per day for the Priceless insurance, or 2) they could give me a ride back to the airport.I paid the $60/day fee they were charging (total $240) because I needed a rental car. Since the reservation, I have confirmed in all of my confirmation emails and online at www.pricelesscarrental.com that they do not have any language warning or requiring a certain level of insurance to be held or else you are responsible for paying an additional fee for "Priceless Car Rental's insurance." I have also done research and the State of Florida does not require insurance as a precursor to renting a car.I have tried contacting the business and spoke with the manager. The manager argued with me claiming that this is a Priceless Car Rental policy, but he could not show me where this was stated on the website. Simultaneously, I was looking at their website and there was no mention of this policy. I was disconnected when the manager told me "he'd be right back." I called back and it happened again when he had to look something up. These calls took place on April 1, 2024.I would like to be refunded my $240 for the insurance which was not mandatory by law, nor was it provided in writing during or after my confirmation, but was offered as my only solution other than a ride back to the airport.Initial Complaint

*********** charged $250 deposit, refused a refund my deposit because the car was dropped off 1 hour late. I was told when I checked out the car that I had until the following day at 5:00. This was after I could not pick up my car the night that I reserved it because the employee walked off the job and left the counter unattended. This was the worst car company experience I have ever experiencedInitial Complaint

3/07/2024 After renting a car through Priceline, at pick up I got charge with hidden fees.At the time to return the car I let them know that someone has hit the car but that they were a police report filed and no major damage to the car ,just some black from the other lady bumper. They charge me 500$ deductible which I did not authorize at the time since it was the other driver responsibility and also I had my own insurance on the car which is full coverage.I filled a dispute with my bank and have been trying to reach out to there claim center as they told me to do but have been ignored since the first call. They don't even bother to answer, seems like they have my number ***** I also refused to sign to close+ the contract with them and they signed for me, I have proof since they email me a copy...this is fraud and forgery. How can I get my money back???Initial Complaint

We were charged for a rental car on Feb 29th. On that day we did ATTEMPT to rent a car from this company, but never received any confirmation that the transaction went through. We received multiple confirmation codes via text and multiple website errors. We never received a reservation confirmation via text or email and never knew the transaction was successful until TODAY, the day before the reservation stating what papers we needed to bring to pick up the car.Initial Complaint

They are forcing people to purchase the Sunpass when this should be totally optional. When you waited on the line for an hour then they say its mandatory to purchase their Sunpass for $15+ per day, it's hard to say no especially when your two kids are tired of waiting and suffered enough. This mandatory Sunpass policy was not inform to us over the phone nor when booking. I believe this is a bait and switch tactic where they post low cost to lure the customer in and then hit them with all different fees to make profit. Please do something about this business so they don't scam an another vicit.Customer Answer

We rented a car from Priceline.com and read all the fine print and made sure our car insurance and everything complied. We arrive to the airport and have to take a shuttle miles away that ended up talking over and hour. Then they tell us we dont have the correct coverage which we did. We purchased coverage through Priceline and have our own insurance. They still said we had to pay $30 a day extra for no reason. They cancelled our car rental and they do this to everyone. I spoke to others waiting for their rental and they all said the same thing happened to them. Its a complete and total scam! They do this to everyone.Initial Complaint

I rented a car from the Next Car location at the Miami airport in February 2024, and am filing a claim for deceptive and abusive practices under UDAAP.
Next Car refused to accept my insurance policy since it wasn't with a "major brand," and I had to purchase insurance through Next Car for $571.89, which nearly tripled the cost of the rental - see attached receipts. At no point during the reservation process was it disclosed that only certain policies would be accepted, and I was told by the agent at the rental place that "We do things differently here." If that is the case, it should be more clear when making the reservation as I would have chosen a different company. My insurance policy has never been rejected by a rental company, including international rentals.
