1 starPlease Please do not sign up with this Company. I signed up with this company April 2023 and have had nothing but one problem after another. I actually would not give them any stars at all but I have not choice. When you call time and time again all all you get is, I am sorry you are having the problems and you are not satisfied with the services. Then when you speak with a Supervisor they tell you that you need to do research and that you need to be more considerate. More or less he suggested that I need to research for anger management which is no unprofessional. I cant believe that Mr. ******** would have the audacity to even say that to me. They tell you what you need to hear to get you to sign up for the service, then it is all down hill from there. They do not stand behind the services that they offer. I kept having to purchase more *************** every month. The dish had been misaligned from day one and finally they came out to align it in December. The technician advised that with the dish being misaligned it would use more data, then Mr. ******** advised me that that was incorrect. I explained to them what I was planning on using the service for and they never advised that I need to change the settings on the TV so that it would use less data. April to December they failed to advise me of this after contacting them several times. I spoke with Mr. ******** regarding cancelling the service and he advised that I would have to pay an early cancellation fee. You would think that they would wave the fee due to all the issues. I ask Mr. ******** if he could transfer me to another supervisor or to even his supervisor and he said no he was unable to transfer the call to anyone but I could leave feed back on the website then he said that I was unable to leave feedback. I find all of this information very had to believe. I feel like that I am trapped by all their misleading information and that just down right is not fair to the consumer!!!!!!Review fromRick B

1 starI answered and Internet deal. Turned out to be a front for ***** Net I discussed early termination and the service they provided prior to letting them install I have it in writing there would be no termination fees if the service did not work. I was never provided a contract The only thing I signed was the installers telephone, and I was told that I was just signing that he had did the install For eight months, I had practically no service out of ***** Net I canceled. They threatened me with early termination fees, and they ****** my checking account forced me to have to close my checking account and redirect direct deposit. They are still threatening me over early termination fees. This company needs to be shut down. They need to be made to be disclose their hidden feesReview fromAndrew B

1 starThis company is a scam! Their internet is so atrocious you cant even do simple things like check emails or searches. They claim its unlimited but in reality they lie and say you drained you limit and now have to purchase extra gigs for $3 each. I got ******** recently and its a game changer and puts Hughes to shame.Review fromDamon T

1 starIm sorry, does that really say this is an A+ company? How is that even possible with all those 1 star reviews Im seeing? I want to apologize in advance for this long review, but its good to be *********** my mom reluctantly had to sign up with hughesnet when century link just stopped working. They thought it was an outage but after 2 weeks with no internet or explanation. Hughesnet sadly was the only other option in her area. I told her not too, but she had already waited long enough. So the installer shows up and from the minute he walked in the door, he seemed to be in a hurry. He hooked up the modem and left. Didnt give them any details or instructions at all. So I came to visit a week later and I can barely get a video on my phone to play. Mom says she has the same problem when trying to stream shows on her smart TV. Fast forward a month and while visiting mom, I called hughesnet and explained everything that had been happening as best as I could. The agent had me do some adjustments to the modem, but still, nothing improved the speeds. I had even tried playing an online game with my PS5, and I got nothing. So the agent said they would send someone out on January 9th, which at this point was 8 days away. Fast forward to yesterday which was January 6th, the guy shows up and this is the part that blows my mind. Not the terribly slow service.nope. So the technician shows up and runs a test while standing next to the modem. He says everything looks good on my end then goes to leave. My mom stops him and says look. When we talked to agent on the phone, we explained that our internet is very very slow, to the point that I cannot watch a video. Our caller ID doesnt work, and the guy that installed all this stuff gave us no info and seemed to be in a big hurry. He said that he was just there to check the signal and nothing more. My mom practically begged him for help. He just walked out. I wish I had been there. I am in the process of canceling this now.Review fromFrustration

1 starHow is this company rated as an A+ with so many negative reviews. This company is nothing but a scam! The service is terrible! There was no mention of an early termination fee which in turn ruined my credit! Once addressed I was told my credit would be fixed! Here we are months later with still no resolution! Terrible company with even worse support!!Review fromHeath L

1 starIf you are expecting the service they advertise then do not sign up. They layer their service so you get good internet for a while then drops to nothing and customer support says "Buy more tokens" to get best speed again. Very misleading. Their best service is 100mbps for 200gb then drops to standard speed of around 50mbps and that is according to the statement of three customer support staff. What you actually get after the "Priority" speed can be as low as 100kbps not even 1mbps. That is not functional internet service. Terrible company running a legal scam.Review fromTim M

1 starSame problems as all of the other reviews. They are horrible. They keep charging us for extra things but can't explain why it's happening. Every time we try to call, we get a call center that tells us the exact same thing every time and nothing changes. We live in a very rural area and it's our best option but they are gouging us. What was supposed to cost us $200/month has been steading creepy up to almost $500 the last two months. And there are only two of us that live here, and neither game or stream. It's ridiculous. How are they allowed to continue to operate like this and extort their customers? Many of whom have no other option. There is a constant flow of negative reviews on here. When will something be done?Review fromJacob F

1 starI would not give any stars but have to just to file a review. They promised us a promotional service and sent someone with no logo and very rude. Then tried to bill us after a couple of weeks when given us a 3 month free service and $36 a month. Then we had to constantly call to complain about my service then didn't change the credit card information and scam us for more money and and put our service on hold then try to say im committing fraudulent with a card that doesn't belong to us and saying we have to pay more money for service that we paid for and being rude about the ordeal. Then we still have to pay even after they admitted it was there mess up and have to wait 10 days after their mistakes. Also still want us to pay more money. Then they are out to scam ppl out of money and manipulate you into agreement with them. I'm canceling service and filing a suite on this company and need 100 ppl to sign on to sue the company for fraud, slander, organized crimeReview fromCheryl W

1 starI cancelled my services with HughesNet recently after being a customer for 7 years. The representative asked me why I was cancelling service and I told them it's because their service is horrible. I let them know I had already made arrangements with another provider, they then told me I was going to be charged with an early termination fee of $273 due to a change in my plan. No where when I changed my plan did it tell me I had to wait another 2 yrs. Yes they did send an email that showed my up grade, however in small print at the very bottom it showed I added 2 yrs to my plan. I guess this is how they make there money by forcing people to upgrade for services that were extremely slow. I recently called to speak with a representative to see if the early termination fee can be waived and was told basically "Sorry for your luck". I tried to log into my account today and found that they had already removed my access, so I can't go back to verify anything they are telling me. I live in a rural area and HughesNet was the only convenient service at the time we moved in so I had no choice but to go with them. Since then we've gotten a fiber cable service in our area, so far their service has been great! and I can actually stream now. I feel that HughesNet is overprice for their service and take advantage of people that cancel. We recently were asked by a new neighbor what service we have now, and strongly suggested she call them instead of going with HughesNet because their service is horrible and a company that won't work with long term customers with any respect. These days people are trying to make ends meet, but the big company's like this one are just wanting more for themselves. No Thanks HugesNet you'll get your money because I have no other choice, but word of mouth goes a long way!!Review fromThomas O

1 starI cancelled my Hughes net in September 2024, they said they would send me a box to return the equipment, never did. Hughesnet continued taking hundreds of dollars out of my account the following two months. I called back and asked what was going on. Representatives told me that they messed up and they did not cancel my account. They said they would return the money they stole from me after they get their equipment back and again said they would send me a box. Doesn't seem right. If I could give a negative review I would.
