I’ve been dealing with HughesNet for the last 10 plus years. The service is very poor, but they want their money regardless. For the last 9 months, HughesNet has been trying to bill me twice a month for one service. We have tried to resolve this, but they still are trying to get an extra monthly fee as late as 5/14/25. At this point my banks have suggested another method of pay because they take money that doesn’t belong to them. So I mail in my payment, but they insist that I pay back the money they stole out of my accounts. They don’t have my cards now so when they try to draft a second payment, they’re blocked so they shut off my service. They tried it with both bank accounts. HughesNet is the only internet service provider in the rural areas , and they take advantage of it. They are trying their best to convince me that I owe them when they were stealing money. I want my account back to a monthly status without any pass due. I’ve never missed a payment so I’m confused as to what they are talking about. You can’t bill a customer twice a month unless they agree to it.

2 year contract. Quoted $49.99 monthly.once service was connected received bill, which was more than quoted.I have called several times, they gave me some credits, recently they told me to not call back, they will not longer give me credits. REceived bill today of $101.18. I called they gave me a $10.00 discount for 3 months. The internet is terrible, very slow. I was told today, I have 11 mts. left on my contract. If I terminate early, I will be charged a ****** in one year, my premium has almost doubled from the $49.99 we were quoted for 2 years....

No Internet! Horrible service. Called to get technician. They said there is none! So why was I paying for Internet? Cancellations fee for early cancellation. What do they expect with bad or no service. So you get no service and you cancel and still have to pay rediculous.

I had Hughesnet for 2 years and then fiber became available in my area. Hughesnet was not a strong enough service as I had Hughes and another provider. When I called to terminate my my service I requested at the next billing cycle, that was entered and I was informed I would receive a box and label to return the equipment. Once the box was shipped to me I would have 45 days to return the equipment without any additional charges, *********** was canceled on 3/16/2025. As of 4/10/2025 I still had not received the box/label and contacted Hughesnet. I was informed it would ship on 5/1 and I would have 45 days from that date to return the equipment. On 5/18/2025 I saw a charge from my checking account for $321.00. I called Hughesnet immediately and after they checked the tracking of the box/label they did not see that it was processed and a new ticket was entered. I demanded a reversal on the $321.00 charge as I was not the one in the wrong. I was told that it was auto generated and the ****************** could not reverse it. They claim it will be reversed when they receive the equipment. We shall see. I advise everyone that terminates their service with this provider to request the box/label be sent ****. This is POOR business. I can only imagine how many people have been burned by their scam. They should not be in business. Please think twice before using them as your internet provider. I selected one star because "no stars" was not an option.

I called HughesNet to cancel my service and a fraudulent charge of $50 was taken out of my debit card account and no receipt was given and when I called back a different number to HughesNet they said I called a scam artist and it wasn't them so I had my bank reverse the charges and I'm wanting to file a complaint on the scam company or HughesNet or in combination

Hughesnet does not deserve even 1 star! We recently bought a home in a rural area where internet options are slim, so we signed up with the same internet provider that the previous owner used. Hughesnet would not start our service until we signed their legal disclaimer. We understood that we would be under contract, and should we cancel early, we would have to pay to get out of the contract. We figured it they were good enough for the previous owner, they'd be good enough for us. WRONG!Their internet service was so bad that we could not receive emails through our cell phones unless we went to town, and our email accounts were blacklisted on our cell phones. We could barely use our home computer. TV watching was a joke. We could not watch TV most nights without numerous buffering issues, or channels just did not load. Their dish system can not handle mild rain days in the ***. We contacted Hughesnet numerous times. They sent out a technician and upgraded our system...still, the same experience. After 3 months of issues, we decided it was time to part ways. The *** advised us we would have to pay $385 to get out of the contract, they would send us a box to return the modem and transmitter, but we would have to remove the dish from the roof ourselves, plug the roof holes and pay to dispose the dish. Later that day we found out that they placed our cancelation on "pending" status and charged us another month of service. This company is horrible to work with, and requires their customers enter a contract and sign their disclaimer forms so that when they can't deliver on the services promised, they don't hesitate to make it known that we signed the disclaimer and shove it in our face. The should not offer their service to rural areas when they cannot deliver a decent service to those areas.

Canceled my service on 2/25 paid cancelation fee of $325, mailed back equipment and have tracking information where equipment was received on 3/10 along with pictures I took at *** store of employee receiving my box (opened so you could see what was being sent back, then I sealed it). On April 26th $219.50 was taking out of my bank account by **********************. I have called and spoke with SEVERAL people (all different excuses, and I let them know the phone call was being recorded due to issues with Hughes Net from the beginning). They proceed to tell me I can not receive my money back until the next billing cycle which is May 25th. I don't do reviews much but the lack of communication, the lack of doing a job, and the inconsistency of this company is a joke. I have all my notes, documents, tracking, proof of receiving the equipment and recorded phone calls because I am the one that is having to suffer for the money STOLEN out of my bank account. The ONLY reason I went with Hughes Net to begin with is they were the only internet service where I lived (thank goodness I have options now). Please if you have options DO NOT USE HUGHES NET you will regret it. I am working with my bank at this time to file Fraud charges due to all the documents I have on my end. Once you cancel your service they delete your access to your account online so they still have my debit card on file and wouldn't allow me to remove it. SO they keep your card on file in cases like this where they don't do their job and can suddenly STEAL money out of your bank accounts. I have to wait at least a month for their process to even see my money bank that they had no right or permission to take to begin with. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND **********************!

Internet is too slow and unsuitable for work. It's too slow so it takes forever to open anything on my work computer. I got Earthlink in July because Hughesnet is horrible but Earthlink is just as bad. So, I kept both because when ********* is not working it automatically connects to Hughesnet but I can barely get anything done. I finally got *********** and it's a thousand times better than both Hughesnet and Earthlink combined. I paid Hughesnet $824.04. And there is a Early termination fee of $307.20. If that amount is taken out I want a refund of that amount as well. I would like that fee waived and a full refund immediately. Horrible service of the internet I had to switch jobs twice and sign up for 2 different internet providers until I finally got ***********, thank God. I have spent over $4000 trying to get proper internet which I would not have had to do if Hughesnet worked properly. So no, I will not accept this response until I get a full refund of $1131.24 immediately. Don't worry I will return the garbage to Hughesnet. I can't wait for Hughesnet to go bankrupt. This company is a scam and a waste of space and money Everyone needs to go to jail for theft.

They get no stars from me. I lost my home in flood called them to transfer my service to a temporary place we were staying while my home was rebuilt they canceled my service at my home address put a new account in my daughters name without anyone permission. When I spoke to them they said she was the one whom called and set up new service which she did not I called to transfer service tied to explain they refuse to listen. They are refusing to fix their mistake and keeps telling us that it will cost me $350 to get out of contract and to start a new one. I cant even do anything to MY service without them getting her permission first. All paper work has my signature.
