I bought some windows from Window Nation and it was installed on 10/29/2022. The total balance for the job was $7,802 and I made a down payment of $1,500; bring down the remaining balance to $6,302. The remaining balance was due upon completion. The installers came to my house on 10/29/2022 and the job was completed on 10/30/2022. After completion, the installer asked for the balance and I told the installer I will be paying using my credit card. Since, I'm paying with credit card, I was asked to fill out a job completion form and I should be expecting a call from Window Nation to provide my credit card information. Three months passed by, no call or email from Window Nation. Then on Jan 10, 2023, I received an email from Alexander A**** (Window Nation) threaten me that the company will take a legal action against me because I failed to pay the balance. He provided the job completion form I signed when the job was completed. My phone number was clearly written on that form and no one from the company called me or emailed me to collect my credit card information. I have pulled my phone log and there is phone record from Window Nation. The company waited three months and the first email I received from the company after job completion is a threat. I told Alexander A**** that I'm willing to work out a plan with the company as I do not have such money ($6,302) on me . I asked him the I'm willing to pay the company $1,000 per month till the balance is complete. If I have access to more funds, I will be more but he kept on insisting that he needs all the balance by Friday (01/13/23). He contacted my on Jan 10, 2023 and wanted me to make the payment for $6,302 by Jan 13, 2023. I don't know what else to do as I do not want my credit score to be impacted my this reckless company. I have attached a copy of the last email I received from Window Nation and the job completion form to this complaint.Business Response

Window Nation apologizes to our customer for any frustration they may have experienced. We are especially remorseful for any poor customer service they may have experienced as well. We always aim to prioritize empathy and understanding, so we regret that we missed the mark in this case.
In regards to the matter of the payment situation, Window Nation does not offer in-house financing options to our customers, so therefore we don't have a way to do payment plans for our customers who previously elected to pay cash for their project. Window Nation does regret that we failed to collect their balance immediately, as the customer records they were expecting, however aside from running a credit application to secure financing, no other options are present for payment.
Window Nation does appreciate our customer's understanding and we hope that we are able to resolve their concerns in a timely matter.Initial Complaint

Dec 5, 2022 windows and sliding door were installed at our home for $32k. The sliding door lock does not work and has not been fixed. We had multiple areas of siding damaged during installation. Window lock was broken prior to installation, but was installed anyway. A window frame was moved somehow during installation to the point that it is no longer sealed and the ledge is no longer flush with the wall.We have contacted window nation multiple times since installation, both through phone and email. We have been ignored through the process and we have had zero communication or resolution for 6 weeks.Business Response

Window Nation regrets the frustration surrounding the customer's project and the lack of communication. Our goal is to completely satisfy the customers on the first try, so we regret that didn't happen in this case. We do have a service date set for January 23, 2023, to address the customer's issues, and we will continue to follow up with the customer to ensure that they are completely satisfied with the finished project.Customer Answer

1/23/23 is today, service was cancelled for the siding installation due to weather. The whole point of needing our damaged siding fixed is so weather does not do more damage, now weather has the opportunity to create a larger issue. Will Window Nation be accountable for water damage, rot, pest infestation, fungus, mold, potential energy bill increase? I would believe so at this point.
I was also told that our sliding door lock on the ground floor was only supposed to be "looked at" today, not fixed. We had a gentleman at the house in early December that "looked at" the door and supposedly had parts ordered. I was told today that the parts were not ordered.
We continue to receive voice mails when we have made it abundantly clear that we need all communication in email form.Business Response

However, we are grateful to have a new date scheduled on February 6, 2023 to address the matters at hand. Financed 15 replacement windows for my home in July of 2022.
They did inform me there was quite a long delay for the windows to be manufactured, but they gave me an estimated date of by Oct 1st to have them installed.
This time frame was accepted, since we just wanted windows before the winter.
They sent their Measure Technicians out to do another measurement of all the windows needed.
The windows finally arrived and they showed up to install them, and the installers realized all the windows were measured incorrectly, except for 4.
They installed 4 windows, and 1 incorrect size window, and told me they would put a rush order in to have the other windows remade. They expected 3 maybe 4 weeks for that rush order to come through.
Its been more than 3 months since then. So I've reached out to the customer manager that was assigned to me due to the problem, around the 3 to 4 week mark and she didn't have any updates on when the windows would arrive. I've called several times since then looking for an update, probably 5 other times. She is never in her office when I call, and I never receive a call back from her, even though everyone I speak with tells me they will leave her a message for her to get back to me.
They told me they would provide me a discount due to the issues of $1000. I haven't received any money, and feel this is not fair compensation for the time its taken and trouble we've gone through so far.
I'd like the windows to be installed and a larger discount due then what they initially offered.Business Response

Date of transaction: 12/22/22. Looking to be refunded $2347.
Window Nation advertised a special of, buy two windows, get two windows free. This was not the case during our initial meeting.
We made a down payment of $2347, but soon realized we actually did not get two windows free.
I then called & texted the Sales Rep Travis F*******, (************), on December 28th, to let him know we would like to cancel the agreement. He left me a voicemail saying we do not qualify for a refund.
I'm a cancer patient with many medical bills, but the buy 2, get 2 free was tempting at first, because of our leaky windows of 33 years.
Please help.
Sincerely,
*********Business Response

On 7-31-2022 I signed an agreement with Window Nation to install 16 windows and 1 sliding glass door. The purchase price was $19,403.00. I made a down payment of $6402.00 with the balance to be paid after the install. The windows and slider were smaller than the spaces they were filling, but I was told this was ok, as they fill in with insulated foam. The slider does not open and close properly, it sticks and I expressed this to the installer. He told me I was not opening/shutting it properly. I signed the window completion form and indicated I was not happy with slider and refused to pay the balance until they fixed it to my satisfaction. I have made numerous attempts to get Window Nation to come fix the slider, but they won't return my calls to set this up. With the bad weather we had 2 weeks ago, I have discovered 5 of the 16 windows allow cold air in. One so bad it whistled. I'm not sure what else to do to resolve this. I don't feel I should have to continue to contact them to try and get this fixed, but I'm afraid they will place a lien on my house because of the unpaid balance.Business Response

We hired Window Nation for new windows. They came out and installed the new windows mid February 2022. When they arrived, they had a ripped out screen and promised us that they would have a new screen delivered, we still have not received a new screen. During the install the installer dripped installation foam down our siding and it has ruined our siding. We have made several attempts for them to fix our siding. One installer came out and cleaned up the foam mess that was left around the windows and took pictures of the siding and said he would let them know we are still waiting on a screen. They sent another installer out he said he would pay us $300 to clean our siding and in the meantime he would be looking for siding that matched ours to replace the ruined area. Around September 2022 they sent an email and offered us $500 for the damage that they can't find siding to match. We refused the offer. They then offered us $1,000 and we have refused that offer and have not heard anything else from the company at all. So we still have a ripped out screen, ruined siding, and they never paid the $300 for us to clean the siding.Business Response

Window Nation apologizes to our customer for the lengthy frustration they have experienced with their project. Our teams were in conversation with our customer until September of 2022. At that point, Window Nation had not heard back from our customer to determine the best path forward until this complaint was submitted. We regret this has not been resolved sooner.
Window Nation spoke with our customer most recently on January 10, 2023 to discuss a plan of action going forward; including compensation on their project or reimbursement for another siding company to come service the customer's repair needs. We are waiting to hear back from our customer as to the route they would prefer to take. We look forward to resolving these concerns for our customer.Initial Complaint

Hello, We hired Window Nation in November of 2021 to replace 8 double sash windows. There were problems right from the start. Scheduling them wasn't too bad but when they showed up they did not have any trim/molding to finish the job and one window would not open. Next, they came back weeks later and tried to make molding from 1x6 pine, I stopped them. They came back with correct molding and installed it very poorly. Window Nation had to send 2 men back to fix the shoddy workmanship, they could not repair the one inoperable sash, they said they had to replace it. This was in March of 2022. We have called them, emailed them and we keep getting the same answer. "It's coming". We have been given dates of when to expect it but they keep passing by without them calling us. I am reaching out to the BBB after hearing of your other successful consumer assistance efforts. Hopefully you can assist us as well.Business Response

Window Nation regrets that our customer has not yet received their final window. Our goal is to complete all of our customer's projects as quickly as we can, so we are disappointed that our customer has been delayed until this point. Window Nation is happy to report, however, that our manufacturing partners have the final piece expected to be delivered the week of January 23, 2023. When it is received, our coordinators will contact the customer to set up a good time for installation. We sincerely appreciate our customer's patience up to this point, and we look forward to bringing them a resolution.

The complaint with Window Nation is the quality of the replacement windows installed in our home on March 21st and 22nd, 2022. We signed a contract with Window nation in 2021 to replace all of our home windows (Qty 26). The contract was to install their Biltmore series twenty four (24) double hung windows and two (2) picture windows.
The commitment was to provide windows that are better quality windows than our original "builder grade" windows with better insulation and a "weather-tight seal against the elements", as quoted in their brochure.
We suspected that the windows may have been drafty during the fall and winter, but it was during the cold weather on Dec. 24 and 25, 2022 that we confirmed this problem. The windows that we checked were blowing cold air inside from the vertical sides - where two sashes meet - and also from the horizontal gaps where the top and the bottom sashes meet. The picture window in the bathroom is drafty from the sides that was noticeable during the cold weather.
I emailed the personnel at Window Nation in Warrensville Heights, OH, and I did receive a call promptly from the branch manager, Joe T. following up with an email stating that their escalation manager Kevin G will call back this week. I will wait to see how Window Nation addresses my following issues:
1. The company failed to deliver on the promised product.
2. The current suggested resolution to add foam "chimney" pads and adhesive pads can only be accepted as temporary fix. The windows should have been designed and manufactured from the factory and installed with all the promised features - especially weather-tight sealing - as demonstrated and agreed upon during the sales process.
3. The company has not been upfront about the details of the labor warranty. A lifetime warranty must cover the labor cost for the entire lifetime, esp. if it is of no fault of the customer.
I await Window nation's response this week for a satisfactory resolution.Business Response

Window Nation apologizes to our customer for any frustration they've experienced since their installation. Our teams are currently investigating the customer's concerns regarding the drafts and have an appointment to assess and possibly make adjustments on January 14, 2023. We appreciate our customer's patience and we will continue to follow up to ensure that a resolution is reached.

We have received a call and a follow up from Window Nation representative that member(s) of their team will arrive at our home to access the issue on January 14th 2022 as stated in the response above. The satisfactory resolution to this issue will depend on what actions follow post their visit.Initial Complaint

The price they quoted us and the price they are charging us are huge. I have contacted the Rep and he tells us they will fix the problem this has gone on for over three months with nothing being fixed. My wife and I are seniors on a fixed income. I wish I had read all the reviews before dealing with Window Nation. We have emailed the owners and the don't even respond back. This has been a nightmare. I have tried to schedule a sit down meeting with either the Rep or the owners but get no response. I have copied every text promising a fix but nothing happens.Business Response
