Sales order # ******* from Window Nation On April 12 2023 we ordered 3 windows from Window Nation in the amount of $5,007.00
They came out on June 6th 2023 with our new windows but could not install them because
The windows were damaged and the size was not correct. They reordered new ones.

#2) They came out again with another set of windows Aug 2 2023 upon inspection the windows
were scratched in the windows they had to order another set.

#3) Today Oct 2 2023 Window Nation came out with another set of windows only to find out they were not measured correctly they have to order new ones.

We are waiting for set # 4. I would like a refund from window nation $5,007.00 obviously
they can do this correctly, I have given them plenty of chances.

I will go to another window company once the new windows are installed I would be happy to give them the damaged windows back.

Window nation is notorious for not returning calls.

Please window nation this is very stressful! something is just not right here.

Window Nation regrets the frustration surrounding the completion of the customer windows. Window Nation has been in communication with our customers, and they have agreed to allow us the opportunity to do a remeasure of all of the windows, which we did on October 6, 2023. Window Nation will do everything we can to have this order rushed and provide an ETA to the customer once it is obtained. Once received, Window Nation will schedule an appointment with the customer at a time that is convenient for them to complete their project. We greatly appreciate our customer's patience.

On August 16, 2023 a salesman was sent out to my home with a window sales pitch. Long story short, I decided to go with the offer and provide a $1,800 down-payment because time is of the essence and I felt I would not get a "good" deal again. Well, 2 days after I decided to cancel and asked for a refund as per their policy. With multiple emails and phone calls I'm yet to receive my money and every week I call they tell me they r working on it. It's now Sept. 30, 2023 and I have not received my refund. I'm sorry I ever invited Window Nation into my home. They have failed to provide my refund as promised. I want my money. Whenever someone is telling you the deal will only go for today or now, run! Be careful of "urgent" sales pitch. It's only a sales tactic.

August 2023 (Resolution of a dispute of window/screens installation from 2019) Window Nation and I tried to resolve this matter. My dispute was time limit of payment, I needed someone to read the mutual agreement document with limited 2 weeks for payment of 10,000 dollars. The work was not going to be completed until payment (originally stated), but I see it said that they WN, would be released from all obligations if I sign and payment and I can't give a negative view about my situation over 3 plus years. I would like to resolve this matter. WN has had many contractors, supervisors and managers measuring or performing work at my home which is still incomplete. They haven't committed to completing until this date. Bath window needs to be repaired to lock and screens need to be installed. I am willing to resolve this matter for 8,000 dollars and relieve WN of all obligations in completing the installation since January 2020/ and not returning to my home. I will agree and sign to release them and they acknowledge payment from me with NO HIDDEN statements of the contract. I would like to do this without lawyers getting involved. Note I did file a previous complaint, hoping the window project would be completed. Until this date, it has not.

Window Nation appreciates our customer's complaint, which has been sent to our local market in order to be made aware of our customer's frustrations and their desired resolution. Window Nation would respectfully disagree with some of our customer's assertions, however, as the service matters would fall under our normal service & warranty specifications and require payment prior to activating a warranty. Window Nation's team will continue to work with our customer in an attempt to resolve this matter, but at this time we are unable to service the customer's concerns without payment. We appreciate our customer's understanding.

I am rejecting this response because:

REBUTTAL TO WINDOW NATION RESPONSE - #********

As a customer who was willing to work with Window Nation beginning late 2019. Customer frustration is an understatement describing the service/Escalation team by Window Nation. It took 4 years, and the project was not completed. Two of the most damaging issues I have, One, Window Nation respectfully disagreeing with some of my assertions. I would like it to be clear/and noted. I have dates, times, emails, photos (windows, contractors, WN personnel, managers/supervisors, witnesses to verify my truths. Two Window Nation obtaining a lawyer, filing a lawsuit, threatening my credit, and defaming my integrity over their negligence, lack of professionalism and workmanship by their hired contractors.

On a document dated January 22, 2024, Window Nation sent me another Mutual Agreement to exceed the previous document. I feel like Window Nation is taking advantage of me, by dictating and controlling all the verbiage in the agreement (all WN demands) but offering a minimum amount not to file a complaint. I strongly do not feel a lawsuit should have been rendered against me. I feel that Window Nation, should have taken half the cost for the undone work, 4 years, aggravation, a window that sat 3/4 in place for 2 winters. I feel that the lawsuit against me should be released, in the same time frame 10 days, you are requesting me to release my complaint if this is a mutual agreement. The demands seem to be very lopsided.

I paid a lot of money for windows that was not complete. IN GOOD FAITH AGAIN ON MY PART, I'm willing to accept terms and conditions and your minimum amount you offered to settle if, the lawsuit is released ASAP, document stating the bill is satisfied, 0 balance, no bad write up toward my credit/credit history. I am holding you to the same standards as you are demanding of me in order to execute this mutual agreement.

      Sincerely,

The last response from Window Nation was in good faith, they would review with their legal team as to another solution.A good amount of time has gone by. Window Nation wasted little time trying to take legal action against me when they were the negligent party. Not hearing back from them or they have not reached out to you, I assume they are ignoring the situation, I WOULD LIKE MY WINDOWS COMPLETED, This has gone for  3 + years. The last tech/WN contractor removed some screens,(Flex) and installed some lower cost screens. There were three big issues with the Flex screens, 1) they did not fix properly,, 2)  had buckles that looked like waves, 3) bugs were coming into the house(especially stink bugs). I took photos and pointed it out to the contractor. I am sending you pictures of my windows, where you can  see the workmanship, where the screen was put in, you can see gaps, you can see the buckle. The lower cost screen(fitted) had a frame covering up the workmanship of the screen. The tech came several times without the right sizes for my window and promised to come back. Instead, that's when I was presented with the legal document for payment or be called into court.for non-payment.

I gave them $10,000 and my windows are not complete and looks a mess up close. How can I resolve this issue, or what can or should I do? Window Nation is all on TV and radio every day  promoting their product, but treating their customers badly. They expect me to not say anything in their agreement, but won't resolve the problem and honor their part of the agreement... Please Respond. I will send you photos (taken 03/07/2024) of my windows as proof.

In the 2+ -3 year span of Window Nation installing my screens. Some of the FLEX screens that were installed were letting a lot of insects in the house. WN offered a cheaper screen that had an outer frame Example W1. Window nation and I agreed on the cheaper screens for all the windows. They came back numerous times prior to either installing a window or a screen (NOT HAVING THE CORRECT SIZE OR DIDN'T HAVE THE ITEM).Prior to me paying them $10,000 all at once in our agreement and them telling me they would work on completing my windows when I made a payment. The windows being shown is what was done by the last WN contractor W2 and W3.have the Flex screen, not fitting properly, but should look like W1 framing..W4 is a huge window, it had FLEX screens, now it have one side still Flex(Right), the other side, suppose to be the frame screen(Left), which was TOO SMALL, big GAP(W5), and they were coming back with the proper size. The right side screen for that window, he did not have it on the truck. If you look at w4 LEFT SIDE PHOTOS closely, you will see the screen showing in the groove. We agreed on the frame version to cover up that look and keep the insects out. W5 ON THE FRONT SIDE STILL HAS THE FLEX SCREEN. The contractor did not have that one on his truck, but a bunch of other screens that weren't fitting my windows. W5, you can see the buckle in the Flex screen and gaps on the side, This was a problem with most of the screens that needed to be replaced.prior.

      Thanks,

Window Nation would like to reiterate that the credit card fee is listed on Window Nation's website and became effective on 1/1/24. As the initial deposit was made on 12/7/23, the fee was not applied, but the remaining balance paid on 1/25/24 did include the fee. We also understand the customer's frustration and have remediated the concern 3/28/24.

REBUTTAL: On 03/28/24, I spoke with Forrest W****** by phone whom stated would call back after he looked into the issue more. I had no details of what was going done. A WN rep Jamie called a few days later 04/02/24 to schedule an appointment 04/05/24 to have a service rep come out and inspect what needed to be completed with my windows. I called Forrest W****** to get detailed information in resolving our issue. In in speaking with Mr. Forrest, I inquired about the their response on a credit card fee and a deposit 12/07/23 fee not applied, and a remaining balance, all which I had no idea of/and did not pertain to me. which was determined incorrect. At this time, me and Forrest discussed a resolution so each party is in agreement. The is not resolved (TENTATIVE). Forrest agreed that I would never be happy with WN services completing my windows/project after 4+ years has gone by. Forrest offered a monetary agreement of $2,500 check, where I can have another contractor finish my windows, no balance due from me ($0) to Window Nation , and release Window Nation from having any dealing with completing my windows/project. This was a tentative agreement made by Forrest W******. He stated he would work on drawing up the documents and don't worry about the WN rep coming out on 04/05/24. I am waiting to hear back from Mr. Forrest W****** and send me the documents.

I bought Window Nation windows that were installed less than a year ago. When the rain hits the front of the house, the windows fill with water. If it rains hard enough or long enough water seeps into the house. I called window nation customer care in July and never heard back from the repair team. I have been calling for 3 days and supposedly the service team is aware of the issue, just ignoring me, I guess. I even reached out to the salesperson by email and got no reply.

I was told today I need to give them 48 hours to respond. That time frame was up days ago.

The young lady I spoke to today told me the Chicago office closes at 4:00. It was 3:54 when I called. She said they were closed. I demanded to speak to someone who could help. She put me on hold and a few minutes later I get a recording saying, sorry our office is currently closed.

9/18/2023 Re: Window Nations Breach of Agreement Dear Case Manager,I am seeking BBBs assistance in resolving my dispute with Window Nation. WN installed windows in my entire house in 2006. A lifelong warranty on all the windows was a part of the signed contract. Also, it was a decisive factor for me to make such a tremendous financial investment and to choose ** from all vendors. I have a signed contract with ** which specifically indicates that they will replace the window/windows if any damage happens to it: if it breaks, malfunctions, or shows any other defect. Moreover, two executive managers, possibly company owners, came to my house and emphasized that a lifelong warranty was a part of my contract with ******* June 2023, my bedroom window broke. On June 12, 2023, immediately after it happened, I contacted ** and requested a window replacement. They assured me they will replace the window to my satisfaction. On July 12, I called them, again, to follow up and they told me they were going to order parts. They did not call me back, and I contacted them on August 23 to follow up on the window replacement status. To my frustration, I was told that ** was not going to replace my window, and their excuse was that the window manufacturer was no longer in business. The WNs excuse is ridiculous. My contract is NOT with the window manufacturer, it is with Window Nation.Window Nation is responsible for replacing all my windows. They should install a new window from another manufacturer that they are currently working with. Please let me know what my course of action should be. I count on BBBs help and support.Thank you,**** (UDI) Gamliel ************ ******************

I have Window Nation windows and one window is faulty. I called Window nation for a replacement as they are covered under warranty. In April 2023 a man from window nation came to my home took pictures and measured windows. In June I was told the window was ordered. Since that time I have not heard anything from Window Nation. I have called and e mailed five times and no one will respond. All I want to know is if they have my window and when will it be installed. I can't believe they won't respond.

I have broken windows installed, missing siding from my home, failed city inspections, code violations, and now my credit is damaged due to the finance company seeking payment for a job that is not done. 3 different seal colors were used, windows are being held in by nails, they put holes in my walls, damage my built in book shelf, and cut and removed pieces of our home with out our knowledge consent and did not repair them. I have have email verifications showing I have complained, showing products were not in at the time they told the finance company the job was complete and no follow up. They installation was not done properly at all and not professionally. I cannot get any response regarding handling the damages to my home or issues with failed windows. They will only reply to shipments of missing product and when it will come in. The ******* ******* ******* also will not respond to my complaint, but instead threatened to file a lien on my home, damaged my credit score and caused 2 credit accounts to close due to reporting non payment. I have had the city inspector out, a home inspector out, and getting an estimate of damages from another professional and accredited company to have the windows installed properly and will be scheduling a building inspector as it will not pass due to the exposed areas left on my home. Not to include the water intrusion and leaking I have had due to the broken windows installed and failed installed windows. I have had to have my son move out of his room due to water damage to the carpet and floor. I have pictures, video's, and documentation of everything.

Window Nation apologizes to our customer for any frustration surrounding the project. Our goal is to completely satisfy our customers on the first try, so we regret that this didn't happen in this case. Window Nation did update our customer on September 18, 2023, that the parts ETA is September 25, 2023, to address any issues that they have had with the project. Window Nation greatly appreciates our customers' patience and looks forward to bringing them a complete resolution.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 09/20/2023

Although Nation Windows responded to the complaint, it still did not offer any resolution to specific complaint areas.  They did not offer any resolution to address improperly installed windows, failed windows that were broken during installation, leaking air, leaking water causing damages in the home, missing screens, and damages that were both inside and outside of the home when installation was started.  They did not attempt to address any issues regarding getting payments from the ******* ******* ******* before job completion or damage this has also caused.  Window Nation simply addressed the failed city codes by ordering the tempered glass windows that we were already charged to have installed.  I have asked them to provide the information of the business sub contractor they used for installation and license information for the sub contractor and was also refused this information. A communication from Windows Nation stating they are sorry about the complaint and providing delivering date of more products does not resolve anything.  I have also asked for a copy of itemized costs of the product charges versus the cost of labor.  I still have also not been given this information either.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****

Window Nation appreciates our customer's hesitancy to accept our response as a full resolution. We do not, in fact, believe the matter to be resolved, but rather are waiting for the parts to arrive to complete the customer's open service issues. Our goal is a complete and thorough resolution for the customer, and we will work diligently to ensure they are satisfied with the matters at hand prior to the completion of this service request. With regard to the matter of the subcontractor information, that is not something regularly provided outside of insurance claims. Additionally, Window Nation is unable to provide an itemized breakdown of any customer's purchase due to the unique nature of each customer's home. Every customer could potentially receive a different price due to factors such as quantity, size, color, style, glass type, caulk, trim, etc. and also reductions such as senior and/or military discounts, current promotions, etc. These are all discussed in the home each Window Nation customer and agreed to before production in order to ensure the customer believes they are receiving what they need. Window Nation remains committed to assisting our customer through this journey and we look forward to resolving their concerns soon.

The Window Nation vendor has given us an ETA of September 29, 2023. Once all of the parts have been inspected, we will reach out to the customer to set a date and time that works best for them.

This response only addresses missing windows not parts that I have already been charged for. It does not address any damages from previous work, does not address correcting improperly installed windows, does not address dishonestly reporting installation was complete to the ******* ******* ******* to recieve money before installation was complete, continues to call missing windows parts to purposely be misleading and has not attempted tov resolve the financial problems this has caused.  I have water intrusion in my home, broken installed windows not being addressed continuing to leak water in my home.

Window Nation has been working with our customers and has been in constant communication, updating them continuously. Our most recent communication with them was on October 2, 2023, to provide them with a parts ETA of October 6, 2023. Window Nation would disagree that anything was done dishonestly; the installation was completed, and these are service-related issues that we are currently addressing with our customer. Window Nation is hopeful that it will complete the project soon and will continue to follow up with the customer once everything has been completed.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 10/07/2023

I am rejecting this response because:

Windows Nation continues to call failed and incomplete installation "services and parts".  However, Missing windows that have not been installed are not a service or a part.  We have submitted documents from Window Nation contractors or subcontractors that shows the work in NOT complete. Windows Nation Informed the ******* ******* ******* in April of 2023 the installation was complete, however we still had not received a patio door, or several tempered glass windows which we are being charged for.

Window Nation states according to Labor and Industry Standards, they have completed installation  and are meeting expectations.  However, according to the attached MN Labor and Industry standards in order for installation to be complete, windows must pass inspection.  The city of Apple Valley has failed the inspections twice.

Window Nation refuses to address damages caused to the home during initial work. However, we have provided in our complaint that windows that were installed broken and/or improperly installed  are continuously leaking water into the home.  We have had to move my son out of his room due to water damage and having to lift up the carpet.  We have had no one address the cut overhang on our patio.  We have had no one address the built in bookshelf that was damaged during first work order.  We have had no one address the damage to our wall above the patio door due to initial work order. We have had no one address the issues with windows and doors that were installed such as not being able to lock the patio door, improperly sealed or missing seals of windows, unable to open windows properly, windows leaking air and water into the home, framing issues, missing screens for ALL windows, and missing windows that were ordered and being charged for that have not even arrived to be installed. A professional home inspection shows in detail improperly installed, failing windows, and code violations.

Window Nation refuses to return the money to the ******* ******* ******* after getting funding before the job was complete.  No one has addressed this issue, it affect to my credit score, or the threats from the ******* ******* ******* for paying Window Nation for a dishonest report that the job was complete.

No one has addressed any of the complaints other than the initial failed city inspection due to tempered glass not being ordered and installed as was charged for.

Window Nation refuses to give the name of the business in license number for the sub contractor they used for the work.

Window Nation refuses to provide an invoice of charges for labor for the job and for charge of window products.

      Sincerely,

      **** *****

Window Nation appreciates our customer's complaint, which has been sent to our local market in order to be made aware of our customer's frustrations and their desired resolution. Window Nation does have an ETA of October 6, 2023, for the parts needed to complete the service items noted. We should see these in our warehouse by the middle of next week. Additional service items noted in photos can be addressed the same day the service items will be scheduled for or at the customer’s earliest convenience. As previously stated, Window Nation does not provide itemized billing, nor do we give out our installer’s personal or business information. Window Nation is the company with whom the customer is contracted. Window Nation greatly appreciates our customer's patience and looks forward to bringing them a complete resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:

Window Nation continues to avoid addressing complaint issues. Scheduling an additional installation when current installation is not complete is not a corrective response. It is an avoidance response. We will continue to follow up with Department of Labor, Commerce, and State of MN Attorney Generals office for assistance in this matter. All documentation of correction needed had been submitted and its correction on the matter continues to be avoided.

      Sincerely,

We reached out to them on October 23 and October 25. I do not want to continue to waste my time repeating myself.  Windows Nation has not addressed previous complaint issues.  The inspection failures go beyond just having the wrong windows installed.  Please ask Window Nation to identify what "parts" they are referring to?  Attached is an estimate of costs to have windows properly installed  and/or repaired.

A purchase agreement was signed in July 2021 for windows. Due to COVID, the agreement was signed on a tablet. At the time, we (a person in addition to myself) were told we could finance for 5 years with deferred interest. The fine print - which again was on a tablet - was that interest was only deferred for 18 months. Payments began in December, 2021. Every month I paid more to pay off early, with auto-pay. It was not until July of 2023 I noted interest being charged. The 18 months was pointed out to me by the finance company. I've tried by email and phone to contact Window Nation. One return call was a sales call. I've been promised that the manager would return my call numerous times. Still waiting. The emails from Window Nation continue to come asking me to refer. I wouldn't refer my worst enemy now. This was deceptive and it's even more deceptive that I can not get a response from the company to help resolve this issue. The installed windows also took up more of the window sill that I was told but after installation, it was too late. This company is deceptive, dishonest and only out to get as much $$ out of customers.

Window Nation apologizes to our customers for any frustration they have experienced, as our goal is to always provide accurate and complete information about their financing plans. We regret if our customer experienced any confusion. ********************** would, however, dispute that our customer did not receive the finance plan that they agreed to with the correct terms and conditions. Additionally, all of our financial applications and agreements are signed electronically rather than with pen and paper. We would recommend that our customer contact Service Finance once again to request access to their terms and conditions. Window Nation regrets any confusion our customer has experienced, and we do hope that they are able to settle the matter with the financial institution from whom they received their loan.

In April 2023, we entered into an agreement with Window Nation to remove and replace 4 windows in our home, estimated value of $10,053. Windows were installed poorly (caulking is poorly done, missing drip cap, inspection by city of ****** failed). TO date, we have still not had our issues resolved. MANY MANY emails have been exchanged. Service technicians have been scheduled and either came unprepared for the tasks (unable to complete them) or did not show up. **Please see word document attached with dates and emails exchanged.

I am rejecting this response because I would like to be compensated financially for the amount of time, effort put in to requesting repairs.  There were multiple days someone was sent out and no repairs done.  There was also a ridiculous amount of email communication on our behalf asking for communication and scheduling.  Time off from work, rescheduling other appointments was required all because the windows were not installed properly on day one.  It took the individual over 10 hours to complete the work on 9/14/23.

My additional complaint response is for the customer service - the time I spent tracking representatives down to follow through with addressing complaints.  The amount of appointments scheduled for technicians to come out to the home unprepared only to need to reschedule.  I would like to be compensated for the poor customer service.
