I used the website to place order for food, paid for it on the website and then received a time for pickup more than an hour later. With three young children under the age of 10 and being a physician on call with unpredictable emergency room situations, waiting over an hour for food was not an option for me on this day. I called the store to see if that was the correct pick up time and they confirmed it. I inquired whether it was possible to expedite the order and if not, could I cancel the order. The employee informs me that it is not possible to expedite the order and it is not possible to cancel the order. I explained to her that it is not appropriate to provide a time for pick up once the order was placed and the credit card was fully charged. I asked to speak to a manager to see if they could help in the matter. The employee states that there is no manager at the store. I inquired whether anyone was supervising the store at all, and I was told there is but everyone is busy. The employee refused to put a manager on the phone despite several requests, and refused to cancel the order. As a consumer, this is bad business practice. A business should not be able to hijack consumer's money, nor should they refuse customers access to management to help resolve a situation. The website is misleading as it does not provide an indication of the wait time prior to ordering food and does not allow a consumer to place an order without payment. Additionally, if the wait time is unacceptable to a customer, the website nor the store have provisions to allow cancellation of the order. Unable to have access to supervisors or management to resolve situations such as mine, or regarding rude unprofessional employees, poor or wrong food orders etc, leaves consumers vulnerable, helpless and without legitimate avenues for problem resolution.
