    I made a reservation last Thursday (11/16/2023) for a trip to ******* from 12/02/2023-12/07/2023 and then I was told that I cant have my refund back when I called back 4 days later to cancel. When I called on last Thursday (11/16/2023) to place my reservation, the agent (*****) I talked to stressed about she "cannot" guarantee that I will be able to go on the trip. Before I provided the payment information, I specifically asked if I will be able to get the refund because the trip is coming up so soon. The agent ensured that I will be able to get a full refund back within 60 days if I decided to cancel the trip. I was also told that I am basically on a wait list and someone will contact me once I can go on the trip. No one contacted me about whether the agency was able to process my information at all, so I've been left in the dark about this trip since the beginning.I called the help line this morning (11/20/2023) around 9:00 Eastern Standard Time to cancel my reservation. I was informed by the agent that I will not be able to get my full refund back since it's too close to the trip date. Basically I was told that ***** gave me the wrong information, so I will have to pay the cancellation fee. The only reason I provided my payment information is because ***** specifically stated that I will be able to cancel the trip and receive a full refund.I've never been so frustrated with a traveling agency. I made sure to ask this agent regarding the refund policy twice before giving her my payment information, and she still couldn't provide me with the correct information. It's unbelievable that such a big traveling agency cannot uniformly train their employees with the correct set of information.

    Thank you for your review. Our 60 day risk fee period is for travelers that either pay in full or sign up for our automatic payment plan at least 60 days prior to their tour finalization date. If a traveler books with less than 60 days while meeting the payment criteria the risk free period is only until the tour finalization date as we do not have a risk free period after the tour finalization date. For travelers booking after the tour finalization date we have to confirm with our vendors if a traveler can be added to the tour and a traveler can choose to cancel up until they are confirmed on the tour. Per the call recording and call notes, all of this information was discussed in detail with you at the time of your booking. You were also sent an email confirming your spot on tour the very next day, thus closing your window to cancel your tour booked after the tour finalization date. Per your request a supervisor has reached out to you to review your recorded booking call and all other contact with you to help clarify the timeline of events and go over our policies again. Please feel free to respond to them whenever is convenient for you.

    Egregious bait and switch refund policies. The initial wording on the web site when checking dates and prices for a tour says "Book with AutoPay or pay in full. Your tour is fully refundable for up to 60 days if cancelling before the Tour Finalization Date." The come-on to make a reservation is a mere $99 deposit, so apparently very little money needed up front to reserve a spot on a tour. This posture carries through until the last moment before making such a reservation, where terms and conditions must be agreed to. Alas, those terms include nonrefundable reservation fees of at least $300 per person (see **************************************************, that amount applies for a European land tour, the typical choice for a potential customer), to which that $99 deposit will be applied. So, I gather that if you cancel a reservation within those 60 days (for a tour that might still be more than a year in the future), they are going to keep that $99 and try to take another $201? Outrageous.

    We are sorry to hear that the policies outlines on our website were unclear. We do have a a policy of 60 days to cancel without any cancelation fees as long as a few conditions are met. Those conditions are that a traveler must be paying in full or signing up for our automatic payment plan ($99 down) and at least 60 days prior to the tour finalization date. If a traveler is booking a tour with less than 60 days to the tour finalization date but is meeting the payment conditions then they would have until the tour finalization date to cancel their tour without any fees. The fees outlined in the terms and conditions explain what the cancelations fees are once a traveler is past the 60 day risk free period if they paid in full or signed up for our automatic payment plan, or what the cancelations fees are for those travelers that elect to pay as they go and only have 72 hours to cancel for a full refund or are signing up for a tour after the tour finalization date. Any of our staff are happy to provide the tour finalization date for any tour departures that a traveler is interested in or go over these policies to clear up any confusion either over the phone, over chat through the Go Ahead website, or over email.

    I had a phenomenal trip with their Ancient ****** Tour. Everything was incredibly well organized. The local tour guides were fabulous and our tour director, *****, was incredible! He planned extra excursions, provided local snacks, and went above and beyond to make our group like a family. I would highly recommend EF Go Ahead Tours.

    I had the most amazing time on my Safari trip to ********. Top notch guides. I did experience a few issues with one of the lodges but they addressed them. I used them to book my air travel and when the flight home got cancelled, they jumped all over it and found me a way home. I give them a 10 out of 10 stars. Best trip of my life!

    **************! The ** reservations team was very helpful in booking, rebooking (due to COVID), and adjusting flights. Our tour guide was fantastic. The tour was very well planned and we had no issues at all with ** tours. We would gladly use them again.

    ******** Solo travel- This was such a busy, fast paced, educational, and unforgettable! ***** our Tour Director clearly has a passion for her work and made ever effort to ensure that everyone has a great time. She was quick to provide suggestions and recommendations. A few of us unfortunately got sick and she was so supportive and sent photos of the day's activities that we may have missed which helped us feel included. Would definitely recommend this tour and ***** as your Tour Director.

    We had the most wonderful trip to ***** with EF Go Ahead. It was a ************* in the sense that we didnt have to worry about anything. Every detail was taken care of, our luggage was delivered to our room and picked up outside our room. The tour director and bus driver were excellent, as well as the local guides chosen by EF Go Ahead. A most enjoyable trip.

    I can't say enough about this company. They took care of everything from flights, transportation, tours, food, shopping all of it. I was a solo traveler and felt amongst friends. I have looked into other tour companies and some are cheaper and some are higher. BUT for what they do and offer this company nails it. I have the best time and am looking to go again soon. RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY!!!

    Worst ever, run!!! EF does not care about issues with the trip at all. They NEVER give a refund as per their rep. ????????????????????Had to leave a star to publish. Otherwise it would have been zero stars.

    Thank you for leaving a review. EF takes every customer case regarding on tour issues seriously, however, in this particular case, a room that doesn't have a view or balcony isn't considered poor hotel quality. Especially since it is at the hotel's discretion as to where they place travelers based off of their availability at the time. We understand that it is unfortunate when one traveler receives a room with a view and others do not, but again it is something that we never guarantee nor set the expectation that every traveler will be receiving this, regardless if they book a private room or are traveling with a companion. We appreciated speaking with you to hear more about your feedback regarding the hotel and have passed that information on so that we can continually review the vendors we work with.
