    Upon arriving home, l immediately contacted ** about my experience. Overall, I thought this trip ****** & dimed me. From the constant asking for tips, to having to pay additionally for all the extra activities, no dinners included in ****, paying extra euros each day for more bus tours & a beach club stop suggested by the tour director. I paid about $8,000 USD total combined. I did the Rome extension which was the better part of the trip. But I had to book my own Colosseum tour through ****** for $95 euros. EF overcharged us for the **************** considering this was the end of the season. I researched everything during the actual tour. The pools at the hotel were 30 degrees, it was cold, all the shops were closing, hotels were closing after we checked out. We received the bare minimum experience. The food was sub par, coffee tasted like dish washer soap with watered down Folgers. For Europe, I'm appalled. I found better ****************** at *********************** 2 of my Greece activities were cancelled last minute with no substitutions offered. Spent most days with "free time" sitting in my hotel room. The hotel in **** had mold on the ceilings, sewage smell coming from the drains. And the most annoying part was flying back to ****** from *********, taking a 40 min bus to the hotel, only to have a team farewell dinner then turn back around the next morning, take that same 40 mins bus to the airport to fly to ****. Wasted an entire day. The most appalling was the tour director getting kick backs from taking us to specific souvenir stores & encouraging us to purchase only from those stores. When I did my first Europe trip last year with EF I was so excited to book again based on the success of that one but now I don't want to book anymore with a travel company. I'd rather do it all myself and save ************* EF only offered me a $300 future travel credit which I feel is insulting. This was a trip l'd rather forget and move on with my life.

    Were glad you had the opportunity to speak with a representative from our Customer Loyalty &Engagement team to provide further insight into your concerns. ****** is a seasonal destination, and temperatures can vary, which may limit beach visits and affect pool conditions. These elements are not included in the cost of the tour, as they depend on individual traveler preferences. We offer Greece tours into October to accommodate those who prefer to avoid peak summer heat and high tourism; however, this can mean that some shops and restaurants are impacted as the season winds down before winter.
    We understand that two optional excursions were canceled. While this can happen on any tour, we always process refunds for canceled optionalswhich has already been completed in your case. Please note that these activities are not replaced, as they are optional and not included in the base price of the tour.
    Regarding travel time to *********, the itinerary clearly notes that groups will travel to ********* and return to ****** by flight. In the future, wed be happy to answer any questions about itinerary flow and timing to ensure the experience aligns with your preferences. We also review tours every year for future improvement and appreciate you letting us know that this experience felt like wasted time.
    As for tipping and the tour director, tipping is a customary part of group touring. However, we do not want travelers to feel pressured. We did not receive any indication from post-tour reviews of concerns regarding the tour director or souvenir shop recommendations.Were sorry to hear that you had this impression and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.
    We also heard concerns from the group regarding hotel accommodations in ****, which is what the credit was intended to address. Its clear that this itinerary,destination, and time of year may not have been the best fit, and wed be happy to assist you in selecting a tour and departure date that better suits your needs.

    I preface this by saying that I realized I was not a good candidate for my Solos tour of Scotland almost as soon as I arrived. I have a chronic disease that causes me extreme fatigue and I simply could not do all of the activities like day trips, group dinners, etc because I was so exhausted. But here are the things that were hardest for me:1) Flights: EF booked my flights with Aer Lingus. I learned later that Aer Lingus has a terrible reputation in terms of flight delays, lost luggage, and awful customer service. I suffered all of the above. All I can conclude is that Aer Lingus was the cheapest option and that's why EF booked it (because more profit for them). Also, I NOTE that it is impossible to ever actually speak to someone in EF's travel department. Ever.2) Tour Schedule: Before I signed up, I tried to find out what the daily tour schedules were like. I got no concrete answer from ******************** Once I got to ********, I met our non-Scottish Tour Director and learned he was nice, but very high energy and intense. We typically had to be at the bus by 7:30 a.m. daily. Way too early for me when adjusting to time change. Our Tour Director also tried to sell us on adding more paid excursions than scheduled. He was a bit pushy about it. No bueno.3) Had I known we started each day before 8 a.m. and traveled by bus for 9 hours at a stretch, I never would have signed up for the tour. It felt less like a vacation and more like a forced march to me.4) The Tour Director became impatient with me to the point of berating me and threatening to leave me behind several times. When I was 5 MINUTES LATE. Not a way to treat paying customers. 5) Hotels: were good, even though the fourth hotel was way too far from ***********. And they changed our first hotel from the one (still advertised) on the website to a small hotel with limited services and then claimed that they did not change the hotel. Misleading much? 6) Tour stops: good overall, but why so rushed??

    I recently traveled with EF to *****, and the trip was amazing. I found the people incredibly gracious incredibly professional, and the people I toured with were incredibly generous and caring. I broke my wrist on the trip due to tripping over an in floor planter in one of the hotels They took care of me immediately. they called me from ********* several times. the tour director was always checking on me to see how I was. It was an incredible experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone and have highly recommended them to everyone.

    I have taken four tours with Go Ahead Tours and each has been exceptional. The experience starts with the staff, who are knowledgable and can give great advice on the different tour options. The pricing is comparable with other companies. The on-tour experiences are what truly make this company something special. All of the tour directors I've had are incredible smart, patient, kind, and inclusive. There are little "surprise and delight" moments on tour that I don't think you'd get with other companies. I am looking forward to continuing my travels with Go Ahead tours in the future.

    Just finished my 4th tour with this company. Tours are outstanding and the Tour Directors and local experts amazing. Each trip was wonderful. However, their *********, MA customer service team is absolutely horrible. They made mistakes on each of the 4 trips I took with them, most involving pre-tour hotels but the last one was the worst. They changed hotels at the last minute and never informed me. We fly over 15 hours with a 9 hour time zone change and walk into our hotel to discover we have no reservation. Did they fix the problem and take responsibility and compensate us? No, no and no. They only offered a discount on a future trip that didn't come close to covering our costs. When I reminded them I've done four and have a fifth trip already booked and am currently shopping for more 2026 tours, they didn't care. Incredible. If I could cancel my next one I would but the cancellation penalties are too steep. However, I am shopping elsewhere now for future trips.

    Tour guides are amazing. With historical archeological insights. Cultural references and beautiful scenery. Delightful food , great shopping. Experiencing people has been quite amazing.

    I have traveled with EF many times now. ********* and ***********, *****, US National Parks, and ************. Ive always had friendly, knowledgeable, and well prepared tour guides and friendly, safe, and reliable bus drivers. Hotels are I think usually 4-5 star places. The food has been great as well. Ive seen so much unique wildlife, landscapes, art, history and culture through EF. The few times weve had emergencies, it was handled with care and grace by our guides.

    I had a wonderful experience with EF Go Ahead Tours. This was my first time going with a tour group. Everything was well planned to enhance the experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited plus he employed tour guides that explained historical events and places. I will definitely go with this company again.

    I have taken two tours with EF Go Ahead Tours and I have 5 more booked. This company totally earned my trust with their meticulous attention to detail and customer satisfaction. I am a senior that *********************** solo but I never feel alone. Each tour director so far has been exceptional, even skillfully handling the occasional difficult traveler. I feel truly spoiled by Go Ahead with everything thought through with a touch of posh class, everything from the luxury busses, the choice of hotels to the specialty optional tours. Such a delight to not have to make all these arrangements on my own! Thank you EF Tours.
