    I received a text from Unifin about a debt collection: ****This is Unifin a debt collector Contact us about ref#********** @ ********** or ***************************** ChargesMayApply Reply STOP to stop texts *****I attempted to sign into the website using this reference number and it said my credentials were invalid. I do not have any outstanding debts. I do not want Unifin to contact me in any way, either by mail/email/phone.

    I filed this complaint myself, about contact from a collection agency. No 3rd party filed this for me, and I did not dispute any charges on my credit report. This email is incorrect as to why I filed a complaint and against whom.

    I followed the instructions on the website and worded my complaint the way others filed their complaints about this company.  

    I would like to withdraw my request because the agency contacted me and verified that the debt was not mine. 

    Where do I go to file a complaint about the BBB?

    Unifin has been sending me text messages that they are trying to collect a debt from me. I do not have any outstanding debts. I want them to stop sending the texts.

    I have received repeated calls from this company in the past five days. They ask me for personal information such as social and birthdate but fail to identify themselves to me at all and refuse to do so. I know that any attempt to collect any debt must have the caller identify themselves, however they refuse. I have asked them not to contact me unless they identify themselves, as that information is sensitive, and they still did so.

    Obviously this is scam I did not pay them any money and I don't plan to. They called my number asking for my wife but called her by her maiden name they would know she's been married for 15 years if they were legit, they refuse to give me information because they said it was regarding a Private matter so I pretended to be her the last time I called they gave me everything and said it was from *********** from **************************************************** about 10 years ago so I don't know how they would know that, what tip me off though they got very upset when I said this phone call is also being recorded by me they got so mad they hung up on me after saying you do not have all consent to record this phone call. No legit company would get mad when say you're recording the phone call

    I am trying to pay back a debt to Unifin that I owe for ******** I set up a payment plan for a total of $516, three payments of $172 a month. I made my first payment over the phone, with my credit card, for $172, on 8/31/23. I got an emailed receipt for the payment. I sent out a check on 9/12/23, in the amount of $172, for the second payment. It was addressed incorrectly. I received several calls and told unifin that I would send out a check on 10/5/23, in the amount of $172, to replace the check that they did not receive. I got a payment receipt on 10/5/23. I called to see if it was the check that I sent out or if they tried to take money out of my account. They claimed that I had never set up a payment plan or made a payment on the account. I sent them emails of the payment receipts, the payment plan, and a screen shot of the money taken out of my account for the first payment. They said they would get back to me after a review.

    Upon review, ********************************* did make one payment, toward a settlement of the subject account, in the amount of $172 as stated in her complaint.  Further, per ************************* complaint,Unifin has not received the second payment, mailed September 12, 2023, that was mailed to the incorrect address.  The October 5 copy of the receipt was sent to ********************************* in response to her conversation with Unifin on October 4, 2023, and was confirmation of Unifin receiving the initial payment.  To-date,Unifin has not received the payment ********************************* indicated she would mail on October 5, 2023.

    ********************************* is invited to contact Unifin at ************* to re-establish the settlement arrangement.  ********************************* may also contact our ********************* at *********************************** with any additional questions or concerns.

    I contacted unifin and they still said that they have never received a payment from me. The check was sent out on the 5th to the correct address. Unifin claims they have not received it yet. I have now made 2 payments that they claimed I have not made.

    As stated in Unifins first response, ********************************* did make one payment,toward a settlement of the subject account, in the amount of $172 as stated in her complaint.  Unifin has not received any other payments from ********************************** Unifin believes that ********************************* may be mistaking the actions of another company as those of Unifin because Unifin has not received any calls from ********************************* since the date of her original Better Business Bureau complaint.  In order to investigate further, Unifin requests that ********************************* provide proof that the second payment was processed by Unifin.

    I am rejecting this response because: Hi, I have recently done some research, and have found out that the original creditor on my credit report is not Unifin. Also, the amount is lower than what unifin says that I owe. I did a ****** search on the original creditor that's on my credit report, and many people say that they have gotten scammed by them. I tried to login to my Unifin account, it said there was no account matching my information. When I call Unifin, they tell me that they have never gotten the two payments that I have sent them. I will send another email with pictures. I believe I am being scammed.

    I have received two text messages in the past couple of weeks from Unifin claiming they are attempting to collect on a debt. I don't have any outstanding overdue accounts or debts and I am current in all accounts. I deny that I have any accounts or debts that would be subject to collection efforts. I want these contacts from Unifin to cease, and if any information has been supplied to credit reporting agencies regarding any alleged debt I want that information removed.

    This matter took place apparently in 2021. I was unemployed at time due to covid. Since then I sent in at least 5 papers stating that I did not make this purchase. Last time sent in credit reports stating when I last had a ***** card and had only used this card once. This is harassment. I did not make purchases nor owe any debt. I want the calls, and mailing, and any other form of communication to STOP!!!! I WONT hire a lawyer for such a small debt that I did not make! But I am beyond tired with dealing with this matter and do not intend on entertaining it any further! No company should ever be allowed to harass innocent people as this company has me! ***********

    Unifin has contacted me regarding a debt. I looked up the debt on the Unifin website, and it is well outside the statute of limitations for collecting a debt. I also dispute the validity of the debt. I would like Unifin to stop contacting me regarding the debt.

    Hello my name is *********************** and I received a call from Unifin spoke with *******. They are trying to collect on a Washington Mutual debt from me that's more than 16 years old. The reference number is **********. I spoke with ********* ******* and they stated that they cannot collect on this old debt from me nor can they put in on my credit report. I want them to stop calling me. This debt is past the statue of of limitations.
