My husband received a phone call from Mediation Recovery Center on 5/7/25 and spoke to ***** who said I have a debt collection from National Durable Medical from 2018 and was sent a notice on 2//6/2025. I have never received any prior information to this in 7 years. He said I owed $3495.MRC also wanted my email address which my husband would not give him. He was very rude and talking over my husband and told him he would check the box stating unwilling to pay. My husband hung up thinking this is a scam. I have never been contacted by anyone about this supposed claim before.I called back on 5/9/2025 and ***** answered the phone again, was very angry and rude so I asked to speak to his manager. *** ***** answered the phone. I asked him to send me a copy of the documentation. He told me it would arrive in about 10 days.On 5/15/2025 I received a bill with no specific information on it for $3495 and if I paid it now $3195. After receiving this I found out National Durable Medical went bankrupt and *** is not accredited with the BBB.I have never been contacted by anyone about this supposed claim before. Please help me stop this harassment and close this account. They are targeting the elderly. It is a scam.Business Response

Mediation Recovery was the new company threatening called me on 5/14/2025 me regarding an outstanding invoice from May, 2018 re National Durable Medical, stated I have excellent credit so I would not want this outstanding--told them already paid off in January from ********************** on January 24, 2025 they stated that is not is not them---this is something different another invoice for $3,495.00 for National Durable Medical--if I do not pay I would be reported to credit bureau. I explained not accurate, told them to send invoice---they did I have looked out exact same bill--I have receipt from payment on January 24, 2025. On May 16 ***** from Mediation Recovery contacted me again asking me if I received the invoice and if I was ready to make payment. I stated again had found the previous invoice and payment receipt----and was not paying anything further on this matter. He said fine he would be reporting to credit. I looked up agency and found complaints listed with BBB and see that this is the company's MO same reference to "National Durable Medical" ---please address this scam of a company----shame attacking consumers and strong arming. I had excellent insurance at the time of the surgery and paid all invoices. Never received any outstanding bills regarding this so-called "outstanding" BILL after 7 years.---I am a victim of Hurricanes ****** and ******--in the middle of recovery and rebuilding my destroyed home I paid this invoice---money not I did not have to spend on a bill that was not a ''TRUE BILL"-- Please feel free to contact me. Just stop these types of companies-agencies.Business Response

I keep receiving calls about a debt you claim I owe in connection with SmileDirectClub. I have received multiple calls from your company regarding this matter.Upon investigating the account in question, I found that it was allegedly opened while I was a minor. I have no recollection of creating such an account, nor did I authorize anyone to do so on my behalf. Therefore, I believe this account was opened fraudulently and without my consent.I have previously dealt with a similar situation involving another debt collector based in ****, TeKCollect, also regarding a SmileDirectClub account that contained forged and incorrect information from when I was underage. That matter was ultimately acknowledged as invalid. The debt is indeed related to a fraudulent account opened while I was a minor, I expect you to cease all collection attempts and remove any related information from any credit reports, if ************* says the account was opened 3/31/2020 when I was 16 years old. Looks like the reference number is ********. Please cease all phone communication and contact me in writing or via email only. You are harassing me. If you continue to pursue this debt without verifying its validity, I will file a complaint with the ************************************ (****).Business Response

My Dispute is: That Medical Recovery Center told me on the phone about 3 weeks ago I owed outstanding amount $3495.00 RE Surgery date 8-22-2018, Used plasma flow mobile compression device in surgery. My insurance company said today this was not paid REASON given on the Explanation of Benefits sent to them, that the medical company sent the claim to the wrong address and to resubmit. They never resent the claim nor did they contact my insurance to rectify the problem. Nor did they send me any letters regarding the claim not being paid. They have been harrasing me and my husband on the phone, when they called my husband 2 weeks ago He hung up thinking it was a scam. This man I talked to said National Durable Medical sent me letters multiple times telling me I owe. I received no such letters. Mediation recovery Center told me they sent me multiple letters. I did not receive these either. I received a letter and form today telling me I owe this $3495.00 that was from over almost 7 years ago (it will be 7 years on 8-22-25). Not once did anyone ever try to collect anything from me nor did anyone send me forms or letters. In this letter they are trying to get me to make payments or pay it off. I have ********** blue shield PPO through National Elevator Industry Health Benefit Plan and they always pay everything. Original Account # *********, MRC account# ********, The current creditor listed on this letter is EMS Funding Solutions.I do not know if them put this on my credit report. I am waiting for the copy of my Explanation of benefits showing the reason denied was they sent to wrong address for claims.I am hoping you can help me to stop these harrasing calls and letters and get this closed for me.Thank you,Business Response

I received a letter from Mediation Recovery Center stating I owe $7239.42 for a medical device purchased through National Durable Medical. I also received a call from ********************* (the creditor listed on this letter) about a week or two prior to this letter. ********************* was unable to provide any information about the medical device charges except forwarding me an order form that was filled out in July of 2019. They were unable to provide additional information such as an itemized list of charges/fees, show whether the device request was processed through insurance, any proof of delivery or receipt of a medical device, or any other pertinent information. My insurance company and doctor's office show me having no outstanding balances nor do they have record of any issues with payment. National Durable Medical is no longer in business and cannot be contacted for any follow up or to review their records. I feel that this attempt to collect a "debt" is nothing more than a money grab by the creditor as they cannot even show proof that a debt was owed in the first place. The only record they can provide is an order form and some of the information recorded on the order form is not even correct.Business Response

I received a phone call from Mediation Recovery Center this morning and spoke to ***** ********. When I answered the call he explained this was about a debt collection for National Durable Medical in ********, ********. I stated to ***** that I received a few text messages earlier this year and didn't know what this debt was about and that before I considered payment I would need documentation on the debt. ***** began to get aggressive and talk over me and wouldn't allow me to ask him to email me documentation on the debt. ***** also stated that he had "signed documents with my signature," where I agreed to pay the original debt. Then ***** stated that he would notate my account as "refusal to pay," and hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a pleasant woman who agreed to email me documentation on the debt. The email actually came from *****. His supporting documentation doesn't have my signature anywhere on it and simply is an invoice where National Durable Medical billed me for the $5,9995. I was angry when I got the email and documentation and called him back. He tried playing nice this time and tried to claim I was attempting to talk over him during our first call which was completely false. I didn't get angry with him on this second call and told him I wasn't paying this and that I do not owe this! I see that Mediation Recovery Center is trying to collect other debts from National Durable Medical which are false. Please stop this business from these unethical practices/collections.Customer Answer

I received a notice, dated 4.7.2025, from *** regarding "your National Durable Medical debt obligation is significantly past due. Amount is $946.70. There is no detailed information about anything. No date of service, no charge information, no provider information...NOTHING. I have NEVER received a call or notice regarding any balance due for National Durable Medical or from any medical provider. They listed DISCOUNT and payment plans or a one time pymt of ******. When i researched who *** is there were multiply complaints regarding the same situation. So i am going to say this is fraud / scam. They also listed on the notice that the company has a A+ listing with the BBB and when i looked them up on the BBB no rating existed. I would like this company to never contact me or anyone else with their scam. MRC ************************** is where they want a payment mailed to. *** ***** @ ************ is listed as the acct mgr. I would like *** to never contact me, as this is a fraudulent balance due.Business Response
