I have been paying an annual fee to update the anniversary of my Mothers passing some 12 years now. I have recently come to find that I am unable to send invitations to my family members via my Legacy.com account portal, i.e., Undeliverable. Im not very happy about this.

I'd give zero stars if I could. I've been trying for 2 days now to post my sister's obituary. I guess it's not a big enough money maker for them, since the order is "trying" to get put through (repeatedly 2 days later) and nobody will return my call. This company should be ashamed of themselves. Nothing says money hungry like a company that treats grieving families this way!

This is a ***** company, along with Tribute.com and Echovita.com. They take obituaries from legitimate funeral home sites and post them on their own sites to profit from deceased loved ones. Their obituary is often inaccurate. They're trying to sell trees, etc. without permission/authorization from their families. They just did this to us on the loss of my 14 yr old grandson. Our funeral director has made several attempts to stop this, but always hits a dead end. I have warned everyone I shared our obituary with, and I am writing a letter to the Secretary of State. ************************* I only chose 1 star because you don't offer anything less that would allow me to give a review.

If the funeral home can contact us at *************** or ************** we can ensure the obituary is removed right away.

If I could give a lower than one star I would. Legacy is a company that pirates other legit funeral homes. I had searched for a obit and thought I had the actual funeral home. Ordered flowers and Legacy outsourced to Teleflora who could not fulfill the order. Total sham!

Id really like to give them no stars. They copied and posted my moms obituary on Legacy.com without the familys permission. Traffic was being directed there rather than the real obituary, which was posted by the funeral home. Legacy does this in order to sell flowers, flags, tree plantings, etc. I could not get in touch with them by phone, even after trying multiple extensions over multiple days. I finally resorted to emailing them and they did take the site down. At least now all traffic is directed to my moms real obituary, where there is no advertising of any kind. Shame on Legacy.com for attempting to profit from people when they are at their most vulnerable.

Absolutely outrageous website. Like most tech companies, they pulled the ole bait-and-switch: build one of the largest consumer bases in an industry by being free or extremely affordable, sell out, then jack up the prices to ungodly levels. They're currently charging nearly $1,000 for a full obituary posting... to bereaved people who just lost a loved one and are already paying out the a$$ for all the other arrangements. They have no heart... just more greedy capitalist piggies.

Thank you for taking the time to send us all your thoughts. We sincerely appreciate this detailed and heartfelt feedback. Obituaries posted only to Legacy.com are typically much less than that. Families can opt to have their obituary added to a Newspaper or many newspapers which may cause the price to increase depending on the Newspapers guidelines for printing obituaries. Please be assured that we are recording your comments and they will be very helpful as we continue to ensure we are offering the features our audience desires most. Feel free to reach out to *************** with any additional questions or concerns.

I would give them no stars. A half sister died and her son listed my mother with just her first name and nee maiden name not her proper new married name along with the sister's father as they were just a happily forever married couple. My mother divorced that man years ago as he was an alcoholic who abused my mother. The son knew my mother's last name very well and it was intentional being listed in such a manner. I contacted Legacy asking it be corrected either adding my mother's proper last name or deleting her name completely. They said they had no control over content and to contact the funeral home which I did. The funeral home says they tried to contact the son and were not able to. I went back and forth with Legacy getting the same reply in addition to telling me I could place an obituary. First of all I have no intention of paying for an obituary and secondly that does not correct the obituary in question. I sent documentation of my mother's name and also obituaries of other siblings showing my mother's proper name. I explained it was distressing and an insult to my mother being listed in that manner and they could care less. They have no integrity or ethics. You have the money, you can say what you like. As to no control over content that is not true. Entries in the Guest Book are looked at by moderators to be approved so that is controlling content. This was an intentional misrepresentation on the part of the son but he paid so it is alright with Legacy.

Legacy.com added a link to send flowers to my dad's obituary. When they did this Legacy.com put the wrong address for the church. (On ****** maps it was actually to someone's house.) When we caught the issue, it took multiple phone calls to try to get help. Legacy does not answer the phone on the customer service side. They only answer when placing a new order. When I finally got help via email, they told me they would correct it within an hour. No apology. Their error.I responded with the need to run the obituary again tomorrow with the right information. I also asked they since they are the ones that added the address and the link that they contact the people who have now ordered flowers to the wrong place. No response. In a time of grief, care should be taken. Apologies should be made for errors. Efforts should be made to make things right. This is an unacceptable business practice that likely wasted a lot of money on flowers that will not make it to the church.
