Thought i was booking with hotel directly. Ended up not being able to go. Contacted them and they said non-refundable. Next time I will pay more attention. Would definitely not recommend them.

My experience today with this reservation.com group is exactly what others have written: I thought and expressed to the person I spoke to that dealing directly with the Coast Gateway hotel in Seattle for my hotel reservation and was not corrected and told I was dealing with a third party. Reservations.com quoted a price for one night. After providing my name and credit card number, the reservation was confirmed at rate that was more than I had expected. When I questioned the rate they said I would get the AARP rate at check in and also that the there was free cancelation one week before check-in. When I looked closer I saw that reservation.com is a 3rd party platform .. they were very sneaky, deceptive and never did acknowledge they were not the actual hotel.
This company has multiple. multiple complaints on BBB for exactly the same type of misleading practices.
When I cancelled my reservation on line I got a notice that $16.99 of my refund was NOT refundable! something that none of the agents I spoke with mentioned. When I told the agent from reservation.com I was cancelling the reservation and requested/expected a FULL refund, she said she couldn't give me that right now but I would get an email in about 2 hrs confirming this. We'll see ... I will work with my credit card company to did put this charge.

Got tricked into booking with them while I was on the actual hotel's website. Then they are almost impossible to contact. I had to pretend that I wanted to make a new reservation to get a live person. No communication. They never gave me a confirmation number but when I called they said they needed my confirmation number to help me. Run this company out of buisness.

Same problem as other people. I received no refund for a cancellation, even after I received an email from their billing department stating I would be given one.

Sadly, reservstions.com poses as the business if you do not look closely. Not only that, they charge a service fee when you can go directly to the hotel's website and book for less. I do not recommend them at all. I tried to cancel, but they charge a nonrefundable 19.99 service fee. It is a scam and a joke. I will be sure to NOT book anything with them again. I see the consumer below has the same complaint. I will be filing a scam complaint.

I initially booked a 5 night stay with reservations.com for a hotel booking. Was quoted a seemingly high price of around 645. They did not disclose there was a surcharge to use their website which was 61. Called and was told they offer no refunds. I did 5 moc hotel reservations for same place and every time the cancelation policy changed and there’s nothing to opt in or out or pay extra for. It’s randomized. When I contacted a manager I was advised that they offer a refund but I needed to cancel and then they would start the process. This to me is where the scam starts. They send a letter to your hotel and it takes 7 to 10 business days. The hotel denies your request, reservations.com keeps your money and you have no hotel.
This is how you get your money back as the second I filed a complaint with the bbb it wasn’t long that they changed my heir mind and gave me a full refund of every penny they initially stated was not refundable.
They pay ****** to ensure they are at the top and mimic the hotels website in hopes you aren’t paying attention. Oh and through the hotels own website I ended up only paying 423 in total for the entire stay.
Their practice and how they operate should be illegal and they need to be investigated and shut down. I believe they are a newer company and use money and questionable tactics to dupe people into spending money. Then there’s no hope in getting that money back without paying huge penalties to reservations.com. The only solution is for people to flood bbb with complaint after complaint until they are forced to look into this company.

We thought we were dealing directly with ** ****** online for a hotel reservation and we’re not aware we were dealing with a third party. Reservations.com quoted a price for a three night stay at ** ****** in Mission Texas for a total of $395.51. After providing our name Addie
      and credit card number,
We got a message on screen saying the reservation was confirmed at a total of $614.38. We tried to back out after seeing that higher amount, but the system said it was already confirmed. We did not hit a confirm button. We immediately contacted the ** ****** hotel in Mission , TX. They said they could cancel but there would be no refund. We also contacted Reservations.com and they said they could cancel but no refund. This company already has a whole lot of complaints on BBB for the same type of misleading practices. Also found all kinds of complaints from people online when I did a search of this company. We are contesting that the amount shown on their records as tax recovery in the amount of $218.87 was never disclosed at the time we made the reservation until they confirmed it their self.

My husband and I had been travelling all day and was going to stop in Springfield Mo.. I found a place I wanted to stay and it said call for rates. I thought I called the actual property even though I knew something was off. The lady quoted me a price and I said not interested in paying that much so she said there's a property 2 miles from there that's cheaper. I confirmed with her 2 miles down from the Bass Pro in Springfield.. she said yes. She said it was non refundable.. I said ok, we were almost there. I hung up the phone and typed in the address and couldn't find it.. googled the property, not one in Springfield. So I checked my email and it was a reservation for 60 miles away! I called back the number (now realizing it was reservations.com) and told them they made a mistake and I was told it was nonrefundable.. I explained again and I kept being told non refundable. Of course I was mad and insisted on getting a refund and they just kept transferring me to someone else until I hung up. Unbelievable!!!! I'm hoping to get the money back through my credit card company. Very upsetting.

Scum of the earth. Misleading tactics, no refund policy when you misunderstand their deceitful advertising, told us to dispute with our credit card company so we did and they're fighting that anyway. This company should not be legal.

I would like to warn everyone not to use Reservations.com to book a hotel room as they do not allow any refunds regardless of the circumstances. I made a reservation on Oct.24th for one night Nov. 22 at Hampton Inn. My credit card was immediately charged rather than at the time of checkin. Upon reading my confirmation, I realized I had booked at the wrong hotel with a similar name. I immediately tried to cancel it so I could re-book but was told NO CANCELLATIONS ALLOWED. I attempted serval time to contact Hampton Inn and reservations.com to explain by situation but to no avail.

So be aware that even if you go to a Hampton Inn website and select a room, you are re-directed to reservations.com. If I had called the hotel, they would have modified the reservation.

So I ended up paying for a room that I cannot use. The room was listed at $96.49 but with the taxes & fees of 28.24 and a service fee of $19.99 it blossomed to $145.02.
