I will keep this simple, yet informative. If you are not currently a customer of **********************, do not sign up with them. If you ARE currently a customer of theirs, get out while you still can. They have been bought by ******* Wireless (starts with a v if it gets auto-censored) and ******* seems to be planning to shut them down in April 2024.Since then, if you are a TracFone customer, with a ********************** SIM card (and most likely on ****** cellular network technically) they will most likely ******* you with ads to make you switch to *******. Ads when you login to your account on the website, when you navigate that website, and sometimes even forcing you to listen to one when you want to make a phone call (except to 911 of course). I believe that last one borders on the illegal. Not only that, if you try to port/transfer your phone number over to another mobile provider, they will refuse to give you your account number, a direct violation of the law. Let me repeat this clearly: This is illegal. And while suing them is probably not worth your time individually (although I hope a class action lawsuit is coming), I recommend you do the following:First, if you signed up with TracFone by buying one of their TracFone approved phones on their website, your account number is the **** of that first device usually, unless you specifically updated it to your latest device's ****. Otherwise, it's the last 15 digits of your current SIM card.Second, if it's the former rather than the latter (or if you have idea which it is) login to your TracFone account on Chrome or Firefox, open "Inspect Element", switch to the "Network" tab in there, and click "Check Usage" in the website's interface. It should ping the website for your "identifier" (your account number) and you will find that written in the Network tab. I would link the ****** post with said method here, but I doubt the BBB won't censor it.Finally, whether you've retrieved your account # or not, file an FCC complaint.

We ordered phones to replace the ones we already have active with Tracfone. Up until this experience, it has been decent for the price paid. This was awful! One of the phones had a bad display, so we called right away to have it replaced. The woman I spoke with was very unpleasant. There were a few times she was yelling at me for stressing her out and confusing her. I thought this was a simple fix; phone came in, charged it, tried to power it up and the screen display does not work. It will say "Hello Moto" and nothing else. I already had a difficult time hearing and understanding her with all of the excess background commotion. There were a lot of other voices talking like at a call center. I'm not even sure the situation was taken care of and am hoping that in the next few business days we find out. I would use extreme caution when trying to speak with a representative regarding issues with your phone.

Terrible customer service. My father's phone stopped working. Mailed it in for a replacement on November 1st and still have not received a replacement phone. Can not understand their representatives because they have such thick accents. They transfer you from one person to another and ask you the same questions over and over again.

I have been a straight talk customer ever since it came to be. Started with cellular svc and when home phone svc came I immediately got the svc. I was very pleased with my svc. I live in a rural area and both svc worked w/o fail. But it seems like since all of the changes, the customer svc REALLY REALLY sucks!!!!!! You can't understand what they're saying and nobody tries to help! I have been trying for the last 2 months to get the free phone offer, only to be told that I was not giving the correct information. My acct was set op on auto-pay and when they asked for the last 4 of the card I was using, gave the info and I was told that info was incorrect. I only have 1 card. Then when asked to verify lifeline#, I don't have lifeline on this phone. They told me I did and they could not authenticate my acct. The security questions they asked were NOT the questions I submitted! This service is just gone to nothing! I don't think I have ever been so disgusted with customer svc. Finally today i got a cs agent who actually took the time to assist me. He is the only reason I did not cancel my svc. Straight talk you need to come back home and use American cs agents!!!!!!!

I ordered a tracfone sim card and service plan. When I attempted to activate the sim card, tracfone said they could not activate the sim card and could not issue a refund for the sim card or the service plan for the service they could not provide. Completely inept business!

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL COMPANY ( 0 Stars should be an option!)(1) this issue of a fully paid for phone with no switching of carriers was locked for 21 days, as of today (Nov 1-Nov 21, 2022)(2) as of this review, this phone is still locked (3) I was told, multiple times on multiple days by multiple Straight Talk representatives, that this phone was unlocked when, in fact, it was (and is) not (4) a European eSim card was purchased for this phone for my daughter to have access to family in the US while in Europe, which due to being locked rendered her phone, and use of the eSim, useless (5) due to Straight Talks "system error" I had no choice but to purchase Wifi on the cruise my daughter was on at the cost of $135.00 (6) Straight Talk Representatives continually lied, stating the phone was unlocked (7) due to Straight Talks "system error" of multiple weeks, I endured indescribable stress knowing my child was in a foreign country, by herself, with minimal contact to us at home (8) everything was perfectly planned for my daughter to have communication access with her phone, yet was denied because Straight Talk locked her phone (9) this phone was not being switched to a different carrier, therefore should never have been locked!(10) Straight Talk Representatives repeatedly lied to me about this phone being unlocked, which I absolutely believe was to discontinue the conversation while continuing to avoid a reason on why the phone had been locked.(11) I made my original request to have this phone unlocked on Nov 1, 2022. After 2 days of speaking with Straight Talk representatives, I was told on Nov 4, 2022 that the original request was not documented, therefore having to request it be unlocked and start the request process as a new one, with a *****hr processing time (which still has not happened!)A BBB complaint has been filed

I have used TracFone for years and ever since ******* bought TracFone the service has gotten worse and continues to free fall. I purchased more data for my phone, they charged my cc but failed to add the data purchase to my phone. Then I purchased more data with my rewards points. They subtracted the purchase from my rewards point but yet again they added no data to my phone. Called CS and that was a joke she told me the data had been added to my phone and then she disconnected our chat. I do not know how a company can continue to operate especially when they offer such poor customer service, and fail to provide you with a service that you paid for. Consumers deserve better than this. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. You definitely do not get what you paid for with this company. If I could leave a lower score than 1 star I would but thru default I will begrudgingly leave TracFone 1 star.
