      Tracfone was bought out by Verizon, and they made my phone model invalid without a warning. I was driving and my GPS went out, upon calling I was told that model was no longer supported and I needed to buy a new phone despite my unlimited data.

      I purchased a Tracfone for my wife several years ago, for basic phone service. Was able to purchase a 1 year service card for $99.00, which served her needs. When the phones needed to upgrade to 4G, I bought another phone and a service card. When they were bought out by a major carrier, the prices went up. Tried to buy a refill card online, but no longer competitive for the price. I purchased a one month card to get us buy until her new phone arrived. We signed up with a new carrier that uses the same towers but with a much better data plan, and let the Tracfone plan expire! SO WE THOUGHT! Tracfone used my credit card on auto-pay , which I did not authorize, and has used my card to prepay their service until June of 2023. I just found the charges added in my latest bank statement and called their customer service **** to dispute the charges. After more than an hour, speaking with two people who were very difficult to understand, and claimed they were having computer issues, finally agreed to stop charging my card, but refused to credit my UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES. They claimed to be working for an international service company, and if I had any issues, take it up with my credit card company. If you feel a need to use Tracfone as a cell phone carrier, do so at your own **** and purchase prepaid cards at your local retailer. NEVER TRUST THEM WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD!

      i have been a tracfone customer since 2015, never had any trouble. recently I bought my wife a new tracfone, and wanted to use her old phone for myself. followed the online instructions to activate her old phone with my number. the phone never activated, my old phone is dead and new phone is inactive, i also lost **** minutes and 1.9 gb of data. have called customer service more than five times. got no help, get moved to a different agent who also gives me no help. guess i will throw this locked phone in the trash and go with another service. beware, if you are looking for prepaid skip tracfone.

      I have tried numerous times to resolve why my tracfone doesn't work. For over 7 months my phone has been LOCKED! And not by me! I only use or want a cellphone to call emergency or if landline is down because of storms, etc. I've tried to get my phone unlocked via online "robot" service which is worthless. I've called tech support with no resolution. The last person I spoke with was hard to understand and had a bad attitude with me. I had paid for a year's service and had only 5 months of calling ability. I lost all my money and all my ability to call out. This company seemingly has a staff that doesn't know what they are doing. I even emailed them twice with NO response from them. The company should not be allowed to operate and I was just told recently that they had info that Tracfone was going out of business. My advice is to avoid them. I will NEVER buy a Tracfone product again. Too much control over the consumer and too much ability to have access to everything in one's phone with them Beware!

      It was a good company until few weeks ago I didn't have service and I had response that my balance was 0 ,after I paid a $39.99 Tracfone card at the end of February, according to the text message after introducing the pin numbers ,my balance was. Min. 600 SMS. 2109 Data 600 I am a 75 year old person who limit the use of the balance since I know my limits so couldn't believe my balance was cero the first week of March. I called multiple times to get back my balance because I didn't use all, never happened before. Only one representative after many calls she added some Minutes but my SMS and DatA still 0 I am a senior lady and to pay more than 40 dollars and to have a balance in 0 is an abuse, after calling almost every day. Without a solution. My main problem I can't get the reminders from my doctor ***** *

      Horrible company. My Tracfone service was recently down for more than a week due to a widespread outage, but Tracfone never bothered to keep customers apprised of what was going on or when service was expected to be restored. I called multiple times and after very lengthy hold times, I was told that I needed to keep rebooting my phone and that it would take "approximately two hours" for the problem to be resolved. This went on for days. Finally, I gave up in utter frustration and changed carriers despite having hundreds of dollars of pre-paid minutes accumulated with Tracfone (I had been a customer for over 15 years). Simply not worth the aggravation. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

      Never do business with this company again. Had straight talk for years with same phone. We paid bills automatically on credit card. Transferred to another mobile provider and straight talk would not release our account number to us so we could transfer phone number. Said our IMEI number on our phone not a match. We only had one phone. Hung up on us several times even at the new providers store. Straight talk forces you to stay with them for your current number or start with new mobile service and new number. Seems we paid our account for years but do not have access to the account number. Does not seem legal. Certainly not good business practice that you cannot transfer to another provider.

      This is the worst cell phone service I have ever had! I do not recommend this to anyone but your mans side chick. **************** is not a priority for this company. Some agents know what they are doing others have no clue at all. I have had them for a year and it is one thing after another! They never offer anything to compensate things like the service being down for a week or the terrible service they provide. They don't even care if you say you are switching phone carriers they are also extremely rude someone named ***** ended a chat with me because she told me my phone number was invalid then when I asked why she wasn't looking into that she got angry.

      They use to be a good company until ******* bought them and ruined them. I ordered a new phone that did not work. After five days talking to people I could hardly understand they said the phone was defective. I lost all of my data with them trying to activate a defective phone. I returned the phone and waited a week for a replacment. I called and was told they did not have a replacement to send me. I was told I would have to except another phone. They would not tell me what phone they was going to send. I have been a customer for 10 years and when my minutes run out I am going somewhere else. I can't belive they are still in business. They have to be the worst.

I have also been buying airtime and minutes since 2016, I had previous ************ as well as minutes. I thought that the service you provided to customers was great. On 2/28/2023 I refilled my phone with a 90-day service plan, Cost $50.35 cents. $45 Plan /90 Days Talk: 750 Minutes Text: **** *********** 1.5 GB Data. I did this online without worry, as I have done it many times before. I was told by a customer service rep. that doing online turn the phone off and wait **** minutes and the minutes, data, and texts will update, which it always did. I was tired that night and turned off the phone and went to bed. In the morning I had errands to do, grab the phone and turned it on and out the door I went not knowing that the phone had not updated, but went into SOS only mode. I could not make any calls, on the screen would say Called failed. Came home and called TracFone from my land line. From 2:00p.m. till 9:00p.m. was on the phone, I was hung up on, transferred to another department where no one answered, etc. I really wanted my phone to WORK. Finally, I was tired of all the ** that the customer service was telling me. Two ********************** customer service reps. said there was a line down and that was the problem 3-6-2023 the phone is not updating any more. I dont think that the plan I purchased, is going to happened. I will have to continue to call Tracfone to see if I can get that plan added to my account. This is really time consuming, not alone the customer (me) is losing money. I would like to recover the minutes or be compensated for the lost minutes, data, and texts.By the way this letter is also going to BBB Better Business Bureau, ************************* ***** Attorney General offices, and other agencies I can find that has authority to help out the consumer.
