I've had web hosting service through bluehost for several years. In July of this year I cancelled all services well in advance of the August 6 deadline. I was billed anyway for site lock essentials, which is ridiculous as I do not have any site to lock and I'd been assured everything was cancelled. Over the past month I've dealt with customer service to get my money credited back, which they do, but then immediately I'm charged again for the service which I cancelled and am not receiving. In total I've been credited back three times, but currently billed again 95.88 dollars and desperate for a resolution to this issue.

A representative called and settled the account with me soon after submitting this information to the BBB, my thanks has to go to the BBB for this result. If I had not contacted BBB I would likely still be getting the run around from the company regarding getting my money back.

Bluehost has rules in their system that goes beyond what ICANN requires. My client owns the domain for frosterve.com but we do not have access to the registration email anymore. I have over 23 years of web development experience. I also am an open SRS reseller. In over 23 years I have transferred a lot of domains from registrar to registrar and I am never had a problem changing the registrants email address until dealing with Bluehost. Bluehost is holding our domain hostage.

What's worse is every time I try to chat with their customer service reps I get a different story and a different set of steps that need to be done to remedy this. It seems that none of their support techs know what they are doing.

I do not care much for GoDaddy but I can tell you that I have never had a problem changing the domain registration e-mail in godaddy's system. This means that blue host has now risen to being the worst hosting provider I can ever imagine using.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/29/2023

      To Whom It May Concern,

We have communicated with ****** and informed him that the domain name is currently pending verification meaning an email address has been sent to the email set as the registrant email address. However, ****** states they no longer have access to the email address on file and is requesting to have that email updated. To have the email updated it is required that the change is also verified with the email address currently on file. Considering they do not have access to the email, they are required to submit a domain ownership request.

From our review an ownership request had already been submitted by ****** prior to this BBB complaint and our ownership team is awaiting an email response with required documents for verification since August 18, 2023. I have informed ****** that a response on his behalf is needed in order to proceed. We will continue to communicate with ****** should he have any questions or concerns.

      Thank You,

      Bluehost Support Team

I have a domain with this company, including Email that I run my business on. I needin to use that email to correspond with customers. For several years now emails from my domain, and ONLY ones from my Domain with Ipower have been randomly repeatedly blocked by Comcast because Ipower also hosts numerous known spammers and Comcast's automated Spam systems filter out email originating from Ipower. I have REPEATEDLY reported this issue to Ipower and each time they have told me they are working to get it fixed and yet the problem remains because their either refuse to, or are incapable of fixing their problem. Their problem is causing me great headaches and problems

On 7/26/2023 I received an email from bluehost stating my 'free trial was ending soon'; however I never signed up for any trial offer from them. I recently purchased an online domain - and in the fine print, they were defaulted as providing a trial offer as the web host.

I contacted BlueHost via phone and spoke to a staff member and they ensured me that the account was being deactivated and there would no charge on my account (I never provided my billing info to them direct, only to google when purchasing the domain)

Five days later (7/31/2023) I receive a payment confirmation from BlueHost for an online charge and it is worded as a renewal. I reached out once again to BlueHost and they confirmed I previously requested it and once again promised to cancel any future payments.

The person I spoke with refused to provide me with any contact information, or escalate me to a supervisor. I have no means of confirming if this will occur again, or even if it was refunded. As they stated the typical return process may take up for 14 business days.

I have my domain name and email hosted by ipage for the last 10 years and I'm looking to switch hosting companies. I have been trying to get an authorization code to do that from them for a week now but have not been able to receive one. They have no one to speak to, no email address to get correspond with only an online chat whose representatives don't know how to resolve my issue. my concerns have gone unanswered. I will attach the chat transcripts that I have from my interactions with them.

      Customer Answer

The company did call me last week to ask about why I put in the complaint.  The issue has been resolved but not before a lot of stress, time and effort on my part.  The only reason the company reached out is because I put in a complaint against them.

Ipage is a web hosting and email service. Their email services have been un accessible for the past 24 hours. There is no phone number to contact. No social media presence. Only a live chat option, and no one appears or responds to live chat. I just renewed my annual web hosting and email service for over $250 and am unable to log in to email.
This is the second time in the last 6 months this has happened.

Regrettably, in a pinch, I enlisted ipage to carry on with my business website hosting services. And, my site continues to crash. And I am working to move to another hosting company.
Here is what the internet says:
iPage was initially founded in 1998 as a full web service provider, but the company re-launched operations as a web hosting provider in 2009. It's currently owned by Endurance International Group. In 2023 it merged with *******. iPage hosts currently more than one million websites in its two large data centers. However, iPage faces criticism for its speed, uptime, and customer support. Be advised of random billing. Website not available as of 4/7/2022.[1]

In mid-May I contacted Blue Host for information about setting up a blog. After careful consideration, I decided against doing so and I informed Blue Host accordingly. I was told that a credit would be issued to my Visa account.

Listed among the charges to my Visa account for May was a charge of $96.40 which appeared on May 17. I expected this charge to be reversed, but the full amount was not; instead, a credit in the amount of $67.45 was issued, $28.95 less than it should have been. Repeated attempts to correct this were made to Blue Host in the weeks following. No correction was ever made.

I then contacted the Dispute Resolution Department of Simmons Bank, the issuer of the Visa card. This accomplished nothing.

I am petitioning for a credit to my Visa account in .the amount of $28.95
