I tried to terminate the service the very first night I accepted the free trial because I didn't want to forget. I was billed 30 days later and I contacted customer service. The customer service agent said I didn't cancel everything and I wasn't able to get a refund for monthly services because they don't allow that (which is so shady). They said I would be contacted by the Finance Department and got a noreply email instead. (I included an a screenshot of the email)
They collect your money and everyone else's and I will stand up for all the people that were scammed. I asked the agent if I was the first one to complain about this and he wouldn't answer and just laughed as to say this happens all the time. They make you think you cancelled but you did not.Initial Complaint

I needed to perform a web domain transfer from an old service provider (BlueHost), and I no longer had access to an old email address. I thought surely, this would be a straightforward task proving my identity, and that I own the business (considering I do as a matter of fact!)
Boy, was I wrong.
When asked to prove domain ownership, I was given 4 different answers from 4 different customer service representatives.
1. The first customer service rep on the phone advised me to just send in a license photo to prove my ID. I did that.
2. The first person from the ownership department advised me to just send in Articles Of Organization to them. I did that again.
3. Now I am being asked to send in utility bills, tax forms, bank statements. I am being asked two different sets of documents by two different customer service reps -- one person is on the phone, and one person in the email. To make matters worse, the phone rep became increasingly hostile when I reminded him of the previous interactions I have had that did not yield any improvements to my situation. Better customer service reps may have acknowledged the inconsistency of BlueHost's help in prior interactions. Not this rep.
This rep insisted on pushing, to the point where I asked him "remind me again who is the customer, and who is on the business side". 99% of interactions that feature this question, usually end in very bad customer service. This occasion was no different.Initial Complaint

Network Solutions has been overcharging me for services I never agreed to or signed up for. This overcharging has been annual for 10 years. I had signed up for 4 domain names - they added addition 4 annual charges.
TOTALLY DISHONEST business practices.
They have now been taken over by Newfold Digital and I am requesting a credit to my account ion the amount of $300, a fraction of what they overcharged me over 10 years!Initial Complaint

We called August 28th to set up a new account and migrate our old website, files, emails and domain from our third party vendor to our sole control. On Sept 7th we received the EPP Code and unlock from bluehost. On Sept 10th the Registrant Name change was completed so that the domain was now the property of ************************'s account. On Sept 12th we were notified that the migration was started and the domain (which was set to expire on Sept 25th) would be renewed when it was transferred over. We were also told that everything would be done before the Sept 25th deadline. Today (Sept 25th) I logged in and have spent nearly 3 hours on the phone with them, only to learn that NO, they did NOT do the domain transfer that it would be an additional $12.99 AND NO they did not do the renewal and NO they did not do the email transfer (with the old files) because THAT would be an additional $99/email address. The rep Allen I spoke to at 9:40 CST admitted on a recorded line that he knew this was unethical to change things mid project and that he was aware that the company practices unethical business practices. As of 1:00pm CST we STILL do not have the domain in our new account, no email transferred AND we still have to pay the $99 to have the emails transferred from the OLD ownership to our account. These are emails we CANNOT lose for up to 7 years after they were sent/received. Every time I call or chat with them, it's a different story!Initial Complaint

On September 23, I received an email about an auto-renew for my domain name, *************. When i "clicked (ed) here" to log in and cancel the auto-renew, what a suprise, this domain name was not linked to my profile. I started a chat with *****, a Bluehost rep, and was. repeatedly asked for a token and that I was sending them the wrong token (after they sent me the token).
Bluehost has charged me ini the past for things I didnn't even realize I'd signed up for. For a solo practitioner, they've leached quite a bit of money from me, but not worth the fight. I do not know how on earth I registered this domain name with them. It does not show up when I log into my account.
You would think that as they are a TECH company, their rep could find this information in order to cancel the domain name.
And so, I will call tomorrow and speak with a person. And I will file this complaint as a record of trying to cancel the auto-renew.
Thank you!

I signed up for a Bluehost account which was supposed to include a free domain (for 1 year). I received an email to "get my free domain" shortly after. I clicked the link and typed in the domain name I wanted but it kept trying to charge me $1186.00. I called support and spoke to a man named ********* about this. Asked how I get my free domain the site promised. He said to buy the domain and I would receive a refund in a couple days, that this is how they do things. After verifying this a second time with ********* I bought the domain expecting a full refund but have been since told that ********* should not have told me this, it is not how they do things. My initial call was recorded so it is on record that this man, *********, told me this was the process, it is not my fault that he told me wrong. have called multiple times and the issue has been "escalated" multiple times as well but still without a resolution. The last escalation was on 9/15/23, I am still waiting for a response back and a refund.Initial Complaint

HostGator broke part of our service (email functionality) when they added a third-party outbound spam filter that is incorrectly identifying our business domain as spam. HostGator apparently has no control over this company they have hired and offered no technical resolutions on the plan we're paying for. They have suggested the only way to fix the problem they created is to upgrade to a higher-level tier that costs over 9x more, which amounts to both false advertising and extortion.
I have requested that our company pays the same amount we're paying for our current plan, which meets our needs aside from the email service HostGator broke, and that HostGator move us to the higher-level VPS hosting plan that they say is the only way to fix the problem they created after we had already purchased our plan. They have denied this request.Initial Complaint

I cancelled my plan with Bluehost in June and they confirmed I was cancelled. Bluehost then charged me again in July, in which I called them and they refunded me and confirmed my account was cancelled. Now it is August and they just charged me again against my consent. I have no faith that this won't keep happening and I don't want to keep getting charged when they keep telling me my account is cancelled.Initial Complaint

The Problem: Ticket ******** - You have raised your basic email plan for just a few emails addresses over 400% for renewal. This has caused us to change our provider and transfer our domain. The problem is that on the admin/profile is an old email which doesn't exist any more. We sent in the ownership form to update. No reply. We emailed ************************. No reply. We spoke numerous times with chat. Only to get run around. Supervisors wont respond. etc. etc. etc.
It would be greatly appreciated if you could have some responsible to communicate with me via phone or email, to get this resolved. I'm trying not to bad mouth Domain.com on social media also. I just want this resolved.
