I placed an order for one year of Network Solutions' Domain Backorder service on 9/13/2024. They automatically set it to auto-renew. 60 days in advance of the expiration date, they billed my credit card again for the following year. When I asked them to cancel and refund the money, they refused stating that the service is non-refundable in accordance with their Service Agreement. They do state that once the service expires I may choose not to renew. My service had not yet expired and I do not wish to renew, however, they billed me anyway and renewed my service without consent and refused to issue a refund. It's outrageously bad customer service especially following an opening line of, "We are committed to creating the best Customer experience possible".Customer Answer

Last year on 5/1/2024 I purchased a 1 year contract for web hosting/domain services from at the time Web.com. That contract was set to expire on 5/1/2025 but the services were renewed automatically by the now owners Network solutions. I received an email from them stating that I had 31 days to renew and if I did not renew the services, they would expire on 5/1/2025. I did nothing because I did not want to renew. A couple of months later I find that I had been charged for another year. When I contacted them to ask for a refund, they denied me a refund stating that the services renew automatically even those my receipt says the term was 1 year and expires on 5/1/25. They told me since, I didn't cancel within 30 days I was out of luck. I asked if I could be refunded for the months that are remaining since I was a couple of month late cancelling because I didn't know I had to cancel when I signed up for a 1 year contract but they refused and said I should just use the services for the remainder of the year. Their terms and agreement have been update on 6/4/2025 as Web.com is now Network Solutions, so I do not have the original terms but I do have my receipt for what I signed up for which was 1 year or service.Initial Complaint

I purchased two domains *********************************** through Network Solutions and paid accordingly. Several options come up when you're buying a domain attempting to sell you additional services which I always decline. The next month I saw a $6.00 charge on my bank account for ********************** settings. I called and cancelled it. Yet I continue to be charged every month. I contact them again this morning, 9 payments in and have been told again that it's cancelled. Just frustrating and I'm sure I'm not the only one.Initial Complaint

I would like my domain ***********.com transferred at no cost, as I requested a transfer prior to the renewal date of 5/11/25. The business refused to respond as promised to technical issues that prevented me from transferring my domain prior to expiration date. As a result my domain in "redemption period" status so now instead of owing nothing or at most $23.00 the company is now requiring $183.99 for me to keep my domain. At most I am willing to pay the $23 to renew the domain before I transfer it. I am not willing to pay the $183.99 that they are requesting. They have not kept their promise to fix the technical issue that kept me from transferring and resulted in my domain being past the expiration date. I can not help but believe that the company acted in bad faith to keep me from transferring my domain prior to expiration date. To this day 6/24/2025 their tech department has not responded, fixed or explained why my domain would not transfer prior to the expiration date. Finally, I spent a significant amount of time corresponding with customer service to fix the issue before the expiration date.Initial Complaint

I created a domain for my company in 2003. Since then, Network Solutions has been fraudulently charging me for services I did not agree to and have not received. Most recently, they charged me for a service I had already canceled, as of June 19, 2025.
When I attempt to cancel services, Network Solutions provides misleading information and fails to honor my requests to discontinue. Since 2011, I have been charged over $500 annually for various fabricated services, despite the fact that domain registration typically costs around $20 with other providers. At times, I have even been double charged.
Additionally, the auto-renewal setting repeatedly turns back on without my consent, and Network Solutions refuses to remove my payment information. All attempts to resolve these issues directly with the company have failed.Initial Complaint

Network Solutions provides hosting, domain, and other types of web services. I currently have monthly subscriptions for website, domain, and technical support. I have utilized their services for my website and recently inquired via email on 6/17 about making a simple update to some pdf files. An email response was sent back for me to call in which I did so on 6/18/25. During the call, I was initially informed I needed need to purchase another subscription service in order to make this change. I was then told they could do it as a one time courtesy. After a couple transfers between their departments, I was told they will make that change after I renew a subscription even though it hadn't expired. The technician took a payment of $42.45 over the phone. On the morning of 6/19/25 I received a call asking me to check for the updates. That is when I noticed changes to my home page, mobile site, and the pdf files were not updated. I informed the technician, ****, to make these corrections. She contacted me a couple times more to continuously ask about the pdf files being updated and I repeatedly informed her my home page was now changed and my mobile site was now down. She stated she would escalate. I was later emailed that I now have malware and need to purchase another program to resolve my issue. I called the technical support line and inquired why they could not restore my site. I was then told it was completed and that I needed to pay for malware programs. After some back and forth, the technician, ****, admitted no changes had been made. I asked for a supervisor/.manager and was told no one was available. My mobile sites are currently down and there are unapproved changes to my website. This company is making it seem as though unless I pay for additional monthly subscriptions, they will need resolve the changes they made.Initial Complaint

Network solutions was supposed to issue me a refund of $218 on May 28, 2025. It was to take 5 business days. I received an email on May 28 saying that my refund was processed but never received the money. I have made numerous calls with promises to send the money and they have not. They have not communicated with me as promised. They won’t let me talk to a supervisor. I don’t know what to do as it appears that they plan to just keep the money.Initial Complaint

Business charged me for my annual renewal plan, several times discussed in chat with representatives, in order to get a discount. After a resolution where the representative was going to give me a 20% discount, I trusted all was finally ok( like every year, like I've done for the many years I've been in the company as a customer)and the representative took a kind a revenge and failed to apply my payment correctly(but did charged it/$105.50). So he didn't apply it to my domain and hosting as we had talked widly and applied it only to my hosting. Putting my domain in the market due to I trusted all was ok after my payment. So, because he did wrong on purpose, my domain was unpaid and only hosting was covered. Now, I do have a hosting for nothing because i don't have a domain. iPage says ( due I didn't know this was happening 'cause I trusted all was ok after my payment) now "they can't return my money before is late. But I just want my money back to have both domain and hosting (as it was paid)Initial Complaint

Network Solutions allowed my domain to be transferred by hackers to ******** on May 13th.After jumping through all their hooped to confirm our identity, they got me back into the account and confirmed that it was a fraudulent transfer. They than claimed to be okay working with ******** to get the domain back. After 2 weeks of going back and forth, they are now saying it was not a fraudulent transfer and refuses to supply ******** with the information needed to get the domain back. They went ahead and closed my ticket (ABU-47112) and told me that it is not longer there issue and there is nothing further they are going to do.They do not have phone numbers for me to call and talk to the correct team and when I try to talk to the people that do answer the phones, I am told I just have to wait for the Abuse team to email back and to email them through the ticket. The ticket s now closed and all I get is a bounce back saying the ticket is closed and if I have another complaint to go to their website to open a new ****** website and email have been down for over 2 weeks now and my business is suffering.Initial Complaint
