I did fill up the tank and left the receipt in the car. However I was charged more than fifty dollars for fuel refilled. I found this totally unacceptable. I specifically told the worker that I filled the tank. HERTZ has not responded to my concerns.

I ADVISE YOU NOT TO RENT FROM HERE. I rented a car from hertz 4/8 , the car was repo from in-front of my house due to my sons severe asthma. The car was towed to jfk location the items in my car was stolen. I went to the location more than 5 times spoke with a manager, supervisor , and Security person name Bobby. Everyone is giving me the run around regarding my stuff and the camera system. The car was towed straight to jfk location. My valuable items are now missing that I’ve been trying to get back for 4 months. This is unfair as a customer that all my stuff was stolen from the location brought to and I can’t get any help retrieving my stuff . THE LOCATION IS JFK AIRPORT PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HERE.

I was forced to take an EV and told it needed to be returned at 80% charge. I subsequently spent an inordinate amount of time figured out where, when, and how to charge the vehicle. It was an incredible inconvenience added to an already difficult trip--I was in town for a family funeral--and the amount spent recharging it cost more than a regular tank of gas, although less than the $50/day I was told it would be to upgrade to a gasoline-powered vehicle. Attempts to contact Hertz during my trip were unsuccessful (the calls would ring and then drop) and feedback issued to Hertz post-trip provoked nothing more than a pro forma "thank you for your feedback" response.

We are inexperienced travelers in our late 70s. Although we said NO numerous times to additional coverage, we were charged $250 for additional coverage. Shame on us for thinking the agent wouldn't charge us. Shame on us for being trusting and not carefully reviewing the itemized bill. Shame on Hertz for their part in hiring unscrupulous agents. Seniors beware.

I rented a car at Hertz in ******* airport and was charged for LDW that I was not aware of by Hertz. The agent never presented the information or the cost and did not ask whether I wanted this. I discovered the charges after I received the receipt. I attempted to dispute and was told it is valid since I signed the contract. Apparently, Hertz is not obligated to inform its customer of additional charges and will sneak one in to make extra money. Check your contract before signing.

Hertz has a completely unprofessional system that is predatory and unhelpful. It has been over a week since I had a less than 1 day rental - and I just now received a receipt after asking 5 times - 3 times on the phone and twice through email. They charged me for 2 days instead of 1 - as a AAA premier member I am *********** 1 free day which apparently they could not get their system to honor. The seemingly nice manager said they would get back to me after they updated the account and sent me out of the office with nothing proving I rented a car that day. They never got back to me. I have now had to open a dispute with my credit card - because while she assured me over the phone I would get a refund she told me she can NOT provide me with anything in writing that says this. Absolutely outrageous and ILLEGAL business practices. Oh and not to mention, initially AAA connected me with their Hertz agent and booked me a car. When I showed up to the location there were NO cars. After awhile they drive me to ****** and nobody over there knew what they were doing either. TOTAL MESS. I think I should be refunded the whole **** amount. The manager kept trying to placate me and being very nice but she never followed through. I feel lied to.

If I could give them a zero I would. I was hit by a Hertz renter and the driver was found at fault. I have not been able to get Hertz Claims to help or escalate. It's been over ten days and over three calls to their claims department with no help. I need my car repaired and they are doing all they can to delay responding and or assisting.

I made a reservation in March 2023 to rent a minivan in *********** on August 10 2023 for $1249.56. I received an email from Hertz on August 9 (the day before pickup) that the rate is now $2194.23. I've been a loyal **************** and Five-Star Gold member for decades so I was confident **************** would resolve this quickly. I reached out 5 times via email (phone calls were never returned) and here are the key points from each reply. 1. "I understand that you want this concern resolved as soon as possible." 2. "As much as we would like to assist you, we do not have the resources for your upcoming rental." 3. "Regarding the rate concern, rates change from time to time since we use yield management just like any other company." 4. "You probably had a lot of concern over this, and I can understand why." 5. "Thank you for being a Hertz Five-Star Gold member and giving me the opportunity to assist you with this issue. Your business is appreciated."Apparently Hertz still doesn't understand that I couldn't afford their $945 price increase so I scrambled to rent a car from another company. ************************Questions for BBB: 1. Do rental contracts mean anything? 2. Can a company unilaterally alter/void a contract just because their yield management calculation changed?

Just got home from LA and rented from Hertz while we were there. It did not go well.Initially it was fine, caught the shuttle quickly and the lady at the counter was friendly and funny. We did sit in the car at the checkout station for 15 minutes while the other lines kept moving. It looked like some trouble was being had with the staffs iPads in our line, but that info wasnt relayed to us. Anyway, it was a small hiccup.Arrived at our hotel, parked, and came back out 90 minutes later and the car wouldnt start. Dead battery - absolutely no guessing there. We called Hertz and got routed to ***. *** initially said they wouldnt arrive for 4 hours, but then called back and showed up in 20 minutes. The *** rep was great and told us that the jumpstart would probably only get us to our next destination if it was under an hour, and not to stop until we got there. It took two hours, but the battery didnt die again. My wife called Hertz back and attempted to get to a closer office. No cars in ******** where we were staying (and the office closed promptly at 5:00 pm), no cars at the ***************, so we ended up going all the way back to *** in Friday night holiday weekend gridlock to drop off the car. When we arrived at the airport, the check-in line was another 45 minutes! After finally getting an attendant, explaining the situation and hoping for at least an Im sorry for the trouble, we didnt get anything else but keys for a car that wasn't as nice as the one we returned. No apology, no pro-rated credit, no future discounts, no customer service number to call, nothing at all! Period. Most, it not all, of our rental car experiences have been good to great, so I dont want this to sound like sour grapes. We have rented from Enterprise in the ******* several times, and will apparently be going back to them again permanently after this mess. Any money that you might save with Hertz isnt worth the timeout from or headaches you might experience on your vacation!

Hertz Rental Car is complete trash. Their customer service is horrible. They overcharge and don't explain their prices thoroughly before someone returns the rental and then hit you with the massive charges which they "claim" that the customer was informed of. The worst part was paying for picking up in one state and dropping off in another which I clearly had used another rental company the week prior and did NOT have to pay that amount of money to them. I will NEVER rent from them again if it's the Last option to get from one place to another. They are the absolute WORST in all my years of traveling. I will never recommend anyone to use their crappy service if they have other options available. **************** is NOT in the best interest of the client at all. Even when I contacted corporate offices to get clarification for the charges, they had zeroooo consideration for me and stated that "their prices and additional fees are listed on their website and that customer service representatives are not in the business of informing their customers about these fees ahead of time when booking an over the phone reservation". Extremely disappointed with the zero level of customer care provided to me. It's too bad that i can't give negative stars and I have to give them a one-star which they clearly do Not deserve point, blank, period!
