      Customer service for the ***** ****** SD branch is absolutely abysmal! Personnel are rude and absolutely unhelpful. They have zero empathy for a customer dealing with the stress of a car accident!

      Can I put zero stars? Hertz messed up my reservation time and scheduled my pick-up for when the rental office was closed. So I had to wait until the next day to rent the vehicle. But they pre-charged me. Every singer person I've talked to from Hertz has agreed that I should receive a refund for the day I couldn't use. Every person has promised me that the refund will be process within 7-10 business days. Every time I call back I have to do the process all over again. It's been almost 3 months now, no refund, and still customer service reps just saying what they think I want to hear. But no action has been taken. My refund is till pending in their system. Nobody has followed through, after multiple of their customer representatives have promised to personally make sure the refund is processed, and that they will personally follow up with me to make sure it happens. Hertz has spend way more money paying these representatives to talk to me on the phone for 3 months, then my refund is actually worth. I will NEVER give business to this company again. The absolute worst experience I've had with ANY company. Untrustworthy, dis-honest company. Do not recommend giving them a chance.

      I was charged for a roadside assistance service policy which was not requested. I have a policy with AAA that provides that service.

      I was told by two representatives that if I'll choose to return the vehicle earlier I'll be prorated. Well, they lied! Got charged the full amount and corporate representative on a phone told me it's "corporate rule" and my charges are non refundable. Stay away from this fraudulent business.

      I dont normally post negative things, but I feel it is my civic duty to warn the public about Hertz Car Rental business practices and this wasnt just a one time occurence. Hertz will gladly take your online payment information, provide a reservation confirmation, schedule a set time/pick-up appointment, and then NOT have a vehicle in the lot for you to rent. Then, they will tell you another Hertz lot may have a vehicle, but it will likely be (as was my case) over a 100% increase in the daily rate.After you have wasted your time, you will be treated with the worst customer service Ive ever experienced by a condescending employee that shows zero empathy, no apology, will not provide their name or their managers name, and only give a ***** # to actually cancel your car rental. Never again for me (business or personal).

      Terrible customer service. Does not honor terms of a reservation and gives you any car they have available regardless of the specific type of car you reserved. One ends up with gas guzzlers when asking for economy cars. Various maintenance lights pop up letting you know the car needs service or an oil change. This makes for a worrisome experience while you are driving. They are rude and disorganized.

      Didn't have a gas vehicle for the lower price, only electric ones. Coat me 2 times the amount of money. When I called about the car shutting off at stop signs or when I slowed down the girl didn't even take my name or which car it was. No night drop off box and hard to get them,on the phone after 4pm. Can't get real person at any of their Emergency Road side number, or any of the Emergency or regular numbers after 5pm. I would have been so upset if I ended ** in the middle of tg3 desert with my daughter and 5 grandbabies in that rental! Will not be back to ******** ** location. Or to Hertz anywhere.

      Hertz rental car in Salt Lake City Utah airport is horrible. I prepaid for the rental online 2 months ago. The woman at the desk asked if I wanted add on services like road assistance/damage. I declined. I have a witness. Then the woman at the counter asked if I wanted to prepay for a tank of gas so we could bring it back empty. She stated their prices were cheaper than filling up at the pump so I accepted. We returned the car with half a tank of gas. I am now being charge $419. 68 for services I did not ask for. I am disputing those charges and will only pay for half a tank of gas. Customer Service was not helpful at all and when asked if there was a manager or someone higher up I could talk to, she said no.

      I have repeatedly called and pushed back on the unfair charge that is on my invoice. We traveled from Paris to Florence, Italy and the idea was to drive back to Paris. We decided to drive directly to the Florence airport at the Hertz location to inquire if there would be any charge fee or any issue with returning the vehicle at that location. The representative at that location looked at our reservation and CONFIRMED there would be NO ISSUE. At that point my wife and I proceeded to book our flight the next morning. We returned the vehicle around 5am as directed by the associate the previous evening. When we arrived back the US we received the invoice. We found a $500 fee for returning the vehicle where we did our due diligence and confirmed we were able to do so. Not only that but the funds were deducted from our account. This to me is stealing. If we would have been directed correctly per the associate we would have never returned the car and would have proceeded to drive back to Paris to return the vehicle as originally planned. This company is stealing from me and this is not right. This is wrong on so many levels. I expect these funds to be returned to my account. This is not my wrong doing but your trained associate that misinformed us.
