      Awful company, left me stranded twice. The customer service rep was totally pathetic, they charge your card for post-sales things you never agreed to. Then they keep your money if you want out. Please for heaven's sake take your business to anyone else, there is a reason they have a 1-star review, they have earned it.

      GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! SHOULD BE ZERO STARS!! Scheduled on line for a pick up in **************, ** for Saturday October 14 at 12 noon. Arrive at the location at 12 noon only to find the building closed and locked up, no one in sight. Read the hours on the door to find they close at 12 noon on Saturday. Call customer service to see why the location is closed when the pick up time is 12 noon. Agent was extremely rude and just kept saying, "well you chose the time, that is not our problem". Asked if we could pick up at another location or on Monday and have the pricing honored. She says "Nope, your too late for your pick up and cannot pick up at a later time. You will need to cancel for a penalty and reschedule with someone else." After several attempts, finally just told her she was rude and not helpful and hung up. Called back and spoke with another agent who was very helpful and cancelled the contract at no charge (We will see if it shows on my credit card statement this month, which I will dispute). Was able to book a same day pick up with SIXT Car Rental, who worked with me on pricing due to the experience with Hertz. Never again, even if they are cheaper, will I rent with Hertz. Wish I would have read all the negative reviews before booking!

      We made a reservation for a minivan rental on 9/15/2023. Several days before pickup, we received a confimation email. When we arrived at 9 am to get the rental on October 16,2023, we were told they did not have a minivan for us. We needed it for 6 people and luggage. We had made travel arrangements with nonrefundable ticket purchases so this was unacceptable. When we complained to Hertz management, they said they could not be responsible if someone did not return a vehicle on time. That was not the case here since this reservation was made a month in advance and the van they did offer wasn't due in until 11 am. This is clear mismanagement of vehicle inventory. The attitude of the staff at the location was disrespectful and lacke concern for the problem they had created for us. AAA needs to reconsider their partnership with Hertz.

      Planning to rent a car from Charlotte, NC airport? I had a reservation and had to cancel. I would highly recommend to find any alternative company other than Hertz. I was very dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Best to go with another company.

      Horrible customer service. Calling their phone line for help, unless its to reserve (give them money), is a waste of time, and will only cause you grief. Calling a number will either get you no answer, to a dead line/number or to a voicemail that nobody talks/to a line that nobody picks up. It is by far one of the worst customer service experiences Ive had in a long time.The only redemption Ive had was that when I was at the location, I did experience very good customer service.

      Terrible customer service and little to no ability to talk with a real person at the rental locations. Had a $40 dollar billing dispute and hertz told me to dispute the charge with my credit card company. I did and then hertz sent to collections and banned me from renting. I was a president circle member and frequent renter. Well I got the presidential treatment! Thanks hertz. Your company sucks and so do your cars. Happily renting from your competition.

      they are the worst. the phone is never answered. they now want to charge me $360 for a rental from the time of 4:34pm one evening to 7:30 am on the second day. this is robbery. they told me someone would pick me up to get the rental and in fact they do not do this. i would never recomend Hertz to anyone

      Hertz has the worst customer service. Because it was so close to closing when I walked in the representative did not want to assist me without a claim number. She never looked my name or reservation number up after advising her that my insurance company had closed for the weekend as well. I was suppose to drive to ******* for a new job and missed a very important opportunity

      They dont even deserve one star. Their phone customer service line is like talking to a water bubbler without water in it. Talk about the worst customer service I have ever personally experienced in my life. Ten separate phone calls over the course of an hour an half for a payment HERTZ was responsible for gathering from the individuals insurance provider from THREE YEARS AGO, with NO prior notice SINCE the event and has placed me on a do not rent and told ME that I have to contact the other insurance group FOR THEM (so do their jobs) to then go through Hertz system again to provide them the claim number of confirmation, which they could gather without issue given they rented the previous car to me and charged the individuals insurance provider for an not me. I got hung up on FOUR TIMES, then was disrespected by MULTIPLE Hertz agents. If I was the *** of this company, Id be ashamed of what I built as far as my costumer service teams and assisting ones clients. Truly pathetic on all levels of service and as a business overall. Moral of the story, they don't do their job other then take your money and treat you like trash afterwards. Front desk people were kind but even those individuals found this counterintuitive and wrong. Founders of this organization are no different then criminals who wear a suit.
