      Had to add two day and different drop-off for rental. They tripled the charges! Never use Hertz again. Would do nothing for me.

      Avoid at all costs. I was rented a vehicle in ******** without the location doing their due diligence. They had rented me a car knowing I did not possess an international permit nor was I aware until after the fact I required one. This could have all been avoided had they mentioned to me I required an international permit. Moments before returning the vehicle, I was flagged down by local police for no reason. However upon further investigation they pinned me with not possessing an international permit. Oddly enough they allowed me to return to the vehicle to drop it off, a 1 minute drive. While the dealership did offer a 50 euro credit, it barely made a dent in the $400 ticket I ended up paying. And don't bother contacting their customer relations email as they rarely respond and want nothing to do with you. Simply put, avoid Hertz at all costs. 0 stars would be more appropriate.

      Hertz is the worst car rental that I have dealt with. Next to ***** Set up a rental for pickup at the *******************. For Friday the 13th of October. Flew in for my best friends dad's funeral in ********. Drove ******************* and filled up the tank just like they wanted me to do. Brought it back on Sunday morning at 4 in the morning. Dropped off the keys and rental agreement just like they asked. And flew home. Checked my bank account and they had taken out 1149$! For 2 days! I looked at my receipt and I had been charged for towing and lost key. Called them up and asked for an explanation. They asked if the car had been towed. No. Did you lose the key? No. I did exactly everything that you told me. Ok sir sorry about that we will get taken care of and you should be getting your refund back anywhere from 24 hours to 5 days. Ok.5 ************ no money. Call them back. Go through the whole mess again. Oh no sir it's 5 to 7 days. Ok. I checked again today being the 7 days. No money. Call again I explain once again. I'm sorry that you have had a bad experience with Hertz. We have taken off the tow and the lost key charges. So you will get your money back 5 to 7 days from now. Wait? What? So now I have to wait another week to week and a half to get my money back from Hertz? 3 weeks after I rented from you and that should have been taken care of when I called the first time? Bull!Never rent from Hertz.

      I was robbed in Punta Cana by hertz rental. Forced to get liability insurance on their so called premium vehicle. 2020, with 71890 miles on it. Passenger sliding door would not open from the outside and had to put air in the front drivers side tire 2 times. Dents and scratches galore. I was told if I did not get the $300 insurance, I could not rent the vehicle. She could not show me in writing that was a premium vehicle or I had to have that insurance. I was renting with my Amex! Hertz customer service was NO help! It was the type of vehicle I reserved(12 passanger), however, nowhere did it state this was a premium vehicle that required MANDATORY liability insurance. So beware when going to PuntaCana and Hertz lack of concern for their customers. The stick a gun pen to your head and say give it up(sign) or else. What a shame!

      First, poor communication. Hard to get to a person to speak to. Secondly, outrageous added on expenses not explained to you. Clearly, it's all about ripping you off to make a profit. Go elsewhere!

      They lie, do not use their prepay for your car rental, they won't refund your hard earned money in the event of an early return. I will never rent anything from this so called company! No stars.

      I wanted to change the location of the car rental and they can not do that. I offered even an extra payment and she told me that she can not do that. I asked for the supervisor and she said that nobody is available to talk to me. She said they will call me back. Nobody called back.
      The customer service is terrible. I rented before with ********** and it was never a problem to change the location. They do it even for free.

      as I can see by all the one star. They said the computers went down. but they said my reservation was cancelled. to make long story short, the car was supposed to be $391. they made me go to the back of the line, and would be treated as a walk up customer.which was now going to be $674. I still have not got back my deposit. now after almost for week, the sent me a letter saying the car was never returned. I dont know who is shadier hertz or ******************* .

      I give this company -5 stars. The CEO talks about change to the company in which, if you ask me it’s going down. I signed up to drive due to I needed a rental to drive for Uber which has a contract with Hertz’s. In the Uber app the pricing for the rental was like $100-$200 difference once you go and pick up a rental through Hertz’s. Well I agree to pay the price of $380 a wk for the first vehicle which I had over 3-4 weeks. Hertz’s also gives you some type of maintenance voucher which they have agreements with CarX, Firestone, Jiffy Lube and PepBoys. First day driving from rental location going back towards Wisconsin the display message came across screen saying oil is low please service vehicle. So I call hertz’s where I picked up at to inform them and they say well it’s not due for an oil change because it’s to soon and I said look if the vehicle is saying oil low then it need to be serviced some how, so they authorized me to take it in to be serviced. I took the vehicle to Jiffy Lube and they tell me that the oil was a quart low. Jiffy lube added more oil and 2 an half wks later same message appears had to take in back to Jiffy Lube and they say The vehicle is about a quart low again which the vehicle shouldn’t be losing oil and they felt that it had some type of internal oil leak. Contacted hertz’s told them the issue and that I needed to be switched out. When I got to hertz’s I waited 2 an half hours just for them to say we don’t have any more gas vehicles just Tesla $480wk which I didn’t really want. I agreed to take it which we did a walk around of vehicle and I notice this Big gash in the front tire so I say hey that needs to be fixed so the the young lady says oh you can take it to have the tire change with no problem. I took it and not even 2 weeks no one would touch it. No one at hertz’s location would help me nor would manager reply, display kept saying in vehicle tire in rear need’s service until it went flat. This story is beyond not done!

      Hertz is the worst rental company out in the business. They are scam artists, they do not deliver what they advertise, they charge you whatever they want and make up the rules as they go along. I rented an Audi in Lisbon Portugal and received a totally different and lower-class vehicle. They charged me the exchange rate that they desire in that the international exchange rate from euro to U.S. dollar. If you can avoid Hertz in Lisbon or any other part of the world, do it it's going to benefit you, and you will sleep better all night. you won't have any problems. The best rental company out there that I have rented many times is AVIS, when you rent a car and they don't have the car you rented they always upgrade you to a higher level they take care of the customers.
