      We were duped!! Pay close attention to what you sign with Hertz!! They'll mislead you.... We booked and paid for our vehicle through Capital One. When we went to pick up the vehicle at the Airport in Orlando, they tried to sell us additional insurance. We had researched our coverage through our credit card and insurance company and had no intention of purchasing. We were very clear with the sales rep behind the counter. He said he had to still show us their options and told us that the 1st option on the left was "the one that came with the car". So we said "fine" we'll take that one as we didn't want to pay any extras. Upon receiving our credit card bill apparently they billed us for extra insurance, and then since we "signed" the receipt, we had no recourse.

      My rental was in ******, ** (at *******************). The car I rental had slight damage to the while (rim) - not the car itself, when I rented it. There was no one there to document any other damage or anything (when renting or returning).They are trying to charge me for this prior damage (which was insignificant in the first place). Seems like they are fabricating "wheel" damage to get extra fees. Never had some a shady practice from a car rental before.

      They charged me for the day after I returned the car.Car was returned on the due date.I went in and spoke to the representative who said all documentation was correct For dates picked up and returned.Nothing else was needed from me.The following month I was charged for 1 more day rental Good bye Hertz- never again

      If I could leave zero stars I would. I had a rental reserved 10/26/2023 for my birthday 10/27 up until the 28th. I am military along with my husband so we couldn’t stay for long. We got a round trip to Rochester NY to announce my pregnancy and celebrate my birthday. I did everything ahead of time. Hotel was booked and I prepaid for my Hertz rental vehicle online and was charged $97.05. Upon arriving to the counter, the associate told me I couldn’t receive a rental because Hertz doesn’t accept my credit card type so she said to call customer service and get a refund issued. I did what I was told to do that same day. It is now 11/17/2023 and I have not been given my $97.05 back. I called customer service 3+ times and have been told “oh well get it processed for you” but nothing gets reimbursed. However, when I called today I spoke to a woman and verified my information she said she would process my refund just like the other customer service reps said. So I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to make sure. The supervisor told me none of the information I said was able to be verified which doesn’t make sense because if that was the case the rep before would’ve told me that. All I did was read of the itinerary that I was sent. It’s highly unprofessional of Hertz to do this because now I see that they will clearly allow anyone access to any information regardless of their privacy policy which could result in them being sued because giving out information that doesn’t belong to the right individual is how people get scammed. If I were looking to rent a car I would never work with Hertz again because they’re not giving me my money back after continuously requesting it and getting my request approved but still not having the money put back on my credit card which I was able to verify because it’s my card in my own name. There’s a lot of stuff being conducted within this rental company that’s very illegal, unprofessional.

      HORRIBLE experience - slipped fake charges on my rental car agreement that I never signed for and refused to reimburse me even after several calls and escalations. They are complete frauds - I will NEVER use Hertz again. STAY AWAY!!!!!! And I think they purposely only have an agent or two, making people wait in excessively long lines, hoping people won't look closely at their agreements because they just want to get their car and leave. Such a frustrating experience!

      I rented a car for 2 days in Europe, which we've done before several times.On our 2nd day the brakes started to make loud, screeching, terrifying noises. We called the ****# while still in the car and were told to return it immediately. We cut our vacation time short and rushed to return the car, and explained our issues to the local outlet who'd rented us the automobile. They apologized and explained of course we'd get a partial refund. 6 weeks later and Hertz will not refund us or take responsibility. In fact, they said we probably put the wrong type of fuel in the car. The rub? WE NEVER PUT ANY FUEL IN THE ***** We returned it so quickly we didn't even consider stopping to refuel. I have never felt so ripped off by a major company, and will not rent from them again.

      What an absolutely abysmal company that loves to stick it to the little guy.My co-worker is a single mother on an EXTREMELY fixed income (especially with inflation), who was hit by a Hertz employee driving a Hertz company vehicle 9 days ago in ******, **. The Hertz employee hit her passenger side with her 10yr old daughter and totaled her vehicle. Thank God her and her daughter weren't seriously injured. The Hertz employee/driver left the scene while her and her daughter were being checked out by the ambulance. She has a police report and has REPEATEDLY tried to get in touch with Hertz to take care of her. They kept telling her to wait 5 days for an adjuster to contact her, 9 days later she found out they have not filed a claim at all. She asked them how she can get to and from work and they told her "You can rent a vehicle"?!? I was blown away by that, here is this giant corporation that was clearly at fault, who literally has rental vehicles, and they can't even help a single mother with a car while they do nothing on the claim? She was $2k away from paying off her vehicle and now she has to rely on friends and family for rides to work and to get groceries. What a horrendous company. 0 out of 0, would not recommend to my worst enemy.

      Renteda car from them on October 26, 2023 from the location at *********************************** Although, I was billed for the vehicle on Thursday November 9, 2023, I returned the car on Friday November 10, 2023 because I bought a car on Thursday November 9, 2023 in which they were supposed credit the $374.00 back to my account because I didnt use the car for another week. I called Hertz customer service department Monday November 13th 3 times because the payment was still pending in my account and asked the agent was my rental agreement closed out I was told it was told once the payment stop pending my monies will be refunded into my account. On Tuesday, I called again 3 times and the agents told me since my payment was still pending they could not refund my money. The agent then proceed to tell me that they will connect me to the hertz that I rented from. I explained that that particular Hertz which is located at ***************************************** have an active phone number. However, the agent connected me to a Hertz at a different location in which I did not get the rental from. Wednesday November 15, 2023 I called again 3 times about the refund I have been requesting all week because I received a text message stating the company will be deducting $374.00 out of my account on Thursday November 16, 2023 when I should have not received that message at all because the car was returned on Friday November 10th. The first agent was rude when I told her I will be forced to file a dispute with my bank if my money isnt refunded back to my account and thats something I am trying to prevent from doing, she got rude and hung up. The second person when I called again, attempted to connect me with the Hertz I rented the car from AFTER I told him that particular Hertz doesnt have a active phone number. The third agent proceeded to tell me that they just closed out the account on that Wednesday November 15th. This has been a complete nightmare dealing with Hertz. I do not recommend this company.

      I rented my car 11/3 /23, thought for a few days, which turn into week. When I return it one day after my agreement, it went down from there. They have know one at the Hertz office in ****** Ore over the weekend. I was able to get the key in the key box. The key box was definitely not in good working order. When I call ***************, they said they would charge me $64 dollars. It should have been $32.19, They tried to charge me another $ 60 the next day. Then on Monday, they were calling, out were was there car. I called ******, telling her the car was return, and didnt appreciate them to continue to charge me. Autumn rudely said if that was a problem, I should have keep the car over the weekend. I dont feel its my problem, they have know one there over the weekend. Ive been in **************** for over 50 years. And would never treat a customer that way. Probably would not use there service again. And my feeling they dont really care.
